DJS, my avatar might look hysterical, But Im not, lol.

sure there are articles that show how things have gotten better, between Smithsonian, wired ,and the Atlantic and scientific American, maybe i recall a few. however Im thinking its more of like when a parent tells a teenager over and over again, to clean his room, and he doesn't, then as an adult turns into a hoarder.

I cant believe how many people I know who are so terribly wasteful.

you have to start early with the lectures, because people suffer in the long term waiting for them to ACT on what is already known to be a solution. yes the technology is there, [often with good intentions at first but them turns out not to be so great, and then they backpedal] and always has been, its how you get a billion people to GET OFF THEIR A$@$ and do something before every drop of water is toxic, every beautiful butterfly and bird and animal we've ever knows is lost. just sayin.

half of our congregation goes there to work out because of the good pool facilities and prices, and the other half think that it's wrong due to it's old charter.

but no one is enforcing the wrong or right of it.

i'd be interested in knowing how this is being applied worldwide.

the ones in my area are independently owned and operated and have nothing to do with any religious organization. just like Goodwill thrift stores, not run my religious org, they're simply independent neighborhood stores. maybe sort of franchise of sorts. I guess then there are silly nit picky extreme nuts that think its not ok to go to a hospital that has a name on it that starts with a saint? seriously? that might be the only hospital in the whole area. so,because a religious organization does GOOD for strangers, the WT criticized them? where are the Watchtower elementary schools? the Watchtower Gyms? the Watchtower hospitals? the Watchtower soup kitchens? The watchtower donation centers? ect..

why they wont even allow at the kingdom hall to be used for activities . so the building just sits there being used for so little while people are often bored all winter with so little association, a kingdom hall would have make a nice place to go play games and have fun, but noooo, cant do that! gasp! no instead money is spent renting out a building, most likely owned by someone who goes to some church, lol

here is the scripture that says just that thing, that those who do good even if they are not of the same 'cult' , will not loose their reward mark ch 9.

it was always boring, and i was afraid that i was gonna get attacked by a dog.

i actually almost got attacked by a rottweiler once.

i didnt get paid for it, nobody listened to us, i actually had guys make passes at me while i was out doing street corner, i was always afraid i would get grouped and raped.

I always asked my mom how it is that other religious faiths dont go door to door yet they have more members.

I knew for a long time door to door was not a 'command' for people and thus stopped years before i left. [and funny no one questioned me]

One would reason, if the world is such a bad place with such evil minded people, and yes risky people, WHY on earth would you send two children or women to a strangers door, in bad areas or secluded areas and basically trespass on someones property for no reason other that to tell them they believe wrong? how is that an attractive faith to belong to? lol

Its no more than harassment IMO. I never felt that it was proper to do such a thing.

at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.

No one with the idea that the worlds governments are out to eliminate all the useless human beings, like Hitler started out thinking, can tell me what the end result is supposed to be.

have a world full of prison camps, and only the wealthy can own all the land, and eat of its fruit, and live happily ever after?

who will do all the labor for al l those wealthy land owners?

all the poor people in huge camps, treated like livestock, used as slaves to do all the work of harvesting and making products and serving the rich, and the elite people rule with the world and enjoy all the fun stuff?

oh wait, that's already here. what is the whole point? it seems pointless to me to spend a whole life scheming to harm people. what a waste.

any government office, who thinks that their plan of actions are limited to 'those other people' who they think are disposable, are sadly mistaken. you cant escape the world you make.. or its outcome.

Global warming and the 6th extinction should be more of a concern than a world domination theory. theyll never make it, the environment will revolt way before.

drop shunning or at least drop shunning among family members.

make blood transfusions a conscience matter, no more hlc.

drop the two witness rule, mandatory reporting of child abuse, no privileges for offenders.

hmm, religion being a man made concept means there can never be an acceptable version.

from what I can understand from ancient scripture,

either,

no man on earth can have a house of worship, because God is to be worshiped in spirit, and you always pray in secret,

Or Jesus was a hard core follower of the old law [and always was]

and the whole bible is one form of 'religion', and it isn't Christianity.

any acceptable belief system would include the complete acceptance of everyone's freedom to chose how to live their own life the way they want providing no one else suffers harm. love others as you love yourself.

sadly genetics and faulty dna interrupts that possibility of that happening .

the above is a quote from a jw female relative.

this was in response to a discussion about the suffragette movement ( and the movie about it that's currently in cinemas).

she seemed to think that it would be so much better if women were just daughters/ wives/ mothers and didn't go out to work and have career's?

um, how about the damage to the men?

Ill say one thing, There are an awful lot of people out there who look down on we who were once stay at home moms, they act like we sat on our butts and watched tv all day. i worked on the side cleaning on top of doing my wifely and motherly duty for over 20 years. I wouldn't have had it any other way, but after my kids were in school it would have been nice to get a decent job where I was not ruining my back. but nooo, I had to spend my 'free' time serving 'you know who.'

now I do agree that by having more women in the work force has taken many jobs from men, and that has had its own issues, of preventing men from having families and wives.especially in developing countries. its a huge issue of unemployment and men not being able to provide for a family. so they are single, so, women are single. they are stuck being adult children. read a whole article about that dilemma.

with stagnant low wages , rising costs of housing, gentrification, and jobs being taken over by robot manufacturing, is the new challenge. what is a 'home' supposed to be ?

However, the stay at home mom, has been looked down on for years now.

we x-jw [past stay at home moms,] with no college degree or any work experience,who are now divorced, and looking for a new mate, have nearly a zero chance of gaining the respect or attention and secure long term relationship of any decent wage earning mature secure man. from personal exp, the moment any of these possibly interested single or divorced men, ask 'what do you do?'

Now, if your not independently wealthy, have a 'career' or have your own financial support, they drop you like a cannon ball. [then add to that the fact that soooo many of these guys are claiming to be 'religious' ha, where is their tradition role?

[ im simply not interested in going to church. so that eliminates so many more guys].

i can just hear them say, as they read my reply to them,

'oh she does THAT, forget her .'

yup. had it happen several times. but, Im not going to lie.

seems to me most men these days aren't looking for a 'wife' to stay home for them and take care of things, they want no commitment, but they want just one woman in their life, so basically they want to date till they die?

who but an x jw man can possibly understand what we x jw divorced women have been through?[and there is no x jw date site that Im aware of.]

First they say they want a woman in their lives to love and to hold, but then want her to have a career and be independent? double talk. they want only to date have sex and not be responsible men.

Thats what women's lib did to men. took away their pride and self respect, the fact they were needed.

'oh the girls dont need us, they can make their own money, so we dont need them.'

oh lonely hearts.

very sad. Ill be the one to say, I need a husband, and want a husband. Id like to make us dinner and go out and have fun and have a friend, is that so bad?
