i really want to let go of the exjw obsession.
but i can't.
i keep coming here and other sites several times a day.i want to shout from the rooftops to my family and friends and say, "it's all a lie!
i feel your pain.
[yea, our jw shows up in the most annoying places...]
Thats why my old friend made the conclusion,
[when she and I had a discussion about teachings a while back]. she said to me,
" if we leave, were misfits in society, our brains are one way, but we want it another, and at this point, were too old to start over'
she decided to abandon me, stick with the org, continue to go along,
of course shes 'weak'. she does what she wants.
Im all by myself in my quest, lol , there isnt a person I know that is an xjw. I just wish somehow i knew who had thoughts like mine at the old cong i went to.
ive heard of one in my area, but was never at all familiar with them.
but oddly id bank on at least half a dozen people at this site who know at least one if not more of my large still in jw extended family, they were quite the popular ones in the Pittsburgh area.

3 all the way,
I cant see it being around at all in 50 years actually , at least not in the form that we know today.
its already changed since I was a teen.
johnny the bethelite on this program talks about the older bethelites being targeted by watchtower.they are getting rid of those at bethel who are 65-87 years old, some being anointed even the widows of former governing body members who gave decades of loyal service time to the watchtower organization.. the reasons the very elderly are being expelled are money in that for their age range they cost so much to cloth, fed, and medicate, having problems from high blood pressure to dementia.
they include persons such as sister henschel whose husband had been a watchtower president and marian sydlik whose parents are long dead.. https://soundcloud.com/rick-fearon/jan-16-2016-johnny-the-bethelite-watchtower-insider-host-his-radio-program-from-brooklyn-ny .
regardless,
has the GB encouraged those ones leaving all their assets behind, to invest in stocks or an IRA or some means of income, while living at the jw slave resort? Have they encouraged the new arrivals to have a meeting with one of there lawyers about investing? is there some sort of retirement arrangement for these people?
They know these people cannot seriously stay there till they die, and having so many people in their 'care' of course they must provide some means of health care.
in this light, it is a corporation,[as we all know it to be] and as such ,should be paying taxes on the 'incomes' of those who work for them. even a non profit has a duty to compensate people.
to do otherwise is foolish, neglectful, disrespectful, and outright ignorant .
do not the GB THEMSELVES consist of men of that age??
where do they get off thinking they are not going to be getting dementia? Im sure they have plans...
i've noticed that each wt lesson really only has one or two points they want remembered.
normally they build up to these by about the third subheading.
this week's lesson though was different, the main point was insidiously made through an experience in the first paragraph:.
tornintwo , you noticed that too?
years ago i started to notice the negativity in the lessons, and started to take a highlighter marker and highlighted every negative word or sentence. you can imagine how much of the article was covered. i wondered where is all the admonition to help and be friends with people? where was the light load??
dimming star remains mystery, but it's likely not caused by comets.
remember that space anomaly of the dimming star that had everyone crying "aliens"?
well, it's still as mysterious as ever.
"There is estimated to be in our galaxy alone a trillion planets. And we can see 100 billion galaxies," Shostak said. "It's believed that one in 10 stars may have a habitable world capable of supporting life."
basically because they feel they are not being blessed.. this is not to say that all gb members feel this way.
the power hungry ones love getting the whip out.
the other members incorrectly look to the old testament for answers.. they are telling the sheep to be faithful, dedicated, self sacrificing, serving to the fullest, whole hearted and obedient.
does anyone in that organization look around and wonder why after all these years, they are still nagging about all that shit? I mean to constantly have to 'remind' people to DO DO DO, should make a person think somethings up.
I mean, if someone is sitting at a meeting, and reading that and thinks, 'Gee I do all this, I don't need to be reminded' they should start to think, 'gee, so that suggests there must be so many 'others' that aren't doing their best, but I know thats not the case.'
Now think, HOW would the 'society' know that, unless elders were reporting that their congregation is lacking in effort?? are they spies in the homes of JWs? do they know what problems people face every day? financial, health, ect? just life in general.
no of course not. they have not a clue how it is on the outside. how dare they push. are they spending 40 + hours a week working, coming home to a family, and then having to prepare for 'service and meetings' taking up all the time with the family? no they dont.
and if you are an elder, you know how difficult it is, and are most likely not going to 'rat out' another stressed out person. seriously, how the hell do they arrive at such a conclusion that all Jws need these constant nagging reminders?
people are getting real tired of the accusations and greed.

ill have to read the article to see what scriptures 'support' a belief that they used to criticize [ when done by other religions ] probably none.
not to mention ,Ive not seen child or 'teen' baptism mentioned in the bible. [or anything leading one to conclude there was]. the only kind of baptism I can see that was spoke of in the bible is that of those converting to the law of Israel, and becoming 'believers'.
This is one main thing that I had come to detest, and helped to catapult me right on out.
how dare they prey on young people when they are emotionally immature, and abuse the power and rights of parents. even Jesus, someone who was supposed to be 'perfect' [yea a perfect follower of the law] was 30 yrs old before he started his ministry. if we were followers of Christ, non of the Jws should be doing 'service' until they were 30. 'the age of maturity'.lol
I recall making that comment once at a watchtower lesson, i think there was a paragraph about marriage, and how you should be careful with your 'emotions' and desires, and not let them lead you to getting married too soon. they were discussing maturity issues, and I mentioned, that Jesus was 30 yrs old when he got baptized, and he was a perfect man, so anyone younger than that in my opinion may wish to make extra sure they know what they are getting into.lol I wonder how that went over in the minds of those elders?
so im at my moms the other day, and there lay the latest january study issue has an article about the whole made up silly story of the upper room and the holy spirit.
[ how hard it is to be quiet....] .
i have never read acts, and saw that story happen.
So Im at my moms the other day, and there lay the latest January study issue has an article about the whole made up silly story of the upper room and the holy spirit. [ how hard it is to be quiet....]
I have never read Acts, and saw that story happen. this fabricated story is all the Watchtower has to fabricate its whole teaching of being chosen to be one of the anointed 144,000. once you see it never happened, then the whole thing falls apart.
How I saw It, was that it was three separate events, two of them were specifically discussing the 12 apostles.
none of the events , IMO, were intended to included people who were not under the law.
[IMO, the SIN, was NOT following the law. period. anyone not following the law was a sinner. even if you were a perfect non religious person.lol ]
So, my question is,
Where has the reader of a bible interpreted the phrase 'receiving holy spirit' also meaning the same as being anointed?
and then blending that in with being 144,000, AND going to heaven?
I'm understanding the meaning of, to anoint, is to be anointed with oil, or given a position of responsibility or duty.In looking up every scripture cited, in that article, [ one sentence in a scripture and a suggestion, does not fly with me.] intended to support that WT theory, and reading the entire account in Acts none of them will lead a reader to conclude that.
1.the house in chapter one is the same as the house in chapter 2 .
2 . there were more than the 12 apostles that received the holy spirit in the house they were staying in in ch 2.
[confirmed by acts ch 1 vs 8- 11] [and ch 2 vs 7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?] acts 2 14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews ...]
2. that the people at Pentecost celebration were of the 144,000 .
3. that some of the people at the Pentecost were gentiles.[acts 2 vs 5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.] lol, from every nation under heaven? [also see above]
4. that any women were involved in the gifts of the holy spirit, or being anointed, or being of 144,000
or being in attendance at the choosing of the new disciple [at acts 1 vs 15 - 26] .
Verse 15, In ch 1, does not say this event happened that day at Pentecost,[ some bibles do not include women in vs 16 of ch 1,] nor does it lead one to reason that this happened in either 'house.'.. [they were voting on who to replace judas, not a decision for women to make. most likely ]
[So they cast lots over them,+ and the lot fell to Mat·thiʹas, and he was counted* along with the 11 apostles.]
so now, does the WT think this story is supposed to do for everyone? they blend three events all into one mish mash.
I never got the whole point of the story.
where does it say in the bible that women are of the 144000?
[an answer i never got, lol, not one scripture to back it up]
where is it said that the 144,000 are ‘spirit’ anointed?
is the term 'spirit anointed' in the bible? and to whom is it referring
were does it say that those 144,000 are chosen over any period of time?
where does it say that they were to be taken to heaven to serve as kings and priests? [not over earth, its on earth]
where does it say that only 144,000 partake?
who said Gods children were only , or also the 144,000?
and even better yet,
where does it say that anyone other than the 12 apostles partake?
and who said those 144,000 first born male children of The tribes were not in fact sacrificed? lol .
many religions teach that,
that all Christians are given holy spirit,
and all Christians were anointed to spread the gospel of Christ,
so that means
all Christians are ‘anointed’ with holy spirit to teach.
Now for the Watchtower, I ask,
if all Christians are not 'anointed' with the 'holy spirit', and 'chosen', and only 144000 are
then, this means no one but Jesus the apostles, [those ones in that mystery room],
and 144000 have the holy spirit. and only they can teach.
and that means We cannot pray for the help of the holy spirit, since to be given holy spirit means to be anointed with that logic.
and that means all of those who claim to be of the anointed, '144000' would be teaching, not 7 men in new york. including those ones that are labeled as mentally unstable, lol.
oh wait, those mentally unstable 7 members are... ah, now i get it, lol
anyone?
some of you might be interested in the results of a 'yougov' survey into peoples aims in life.
see: https://yougov.co.uk/news/2015/12/23/wants/.
over 18,000 people in 17 countries were asked to think about their lives and to say which of 12 key areas they most want in life and which single one they want most overall.
wow, I cant get over that money rated so high in both charts, and I think the reason for that is because in our world without money you cant have anything, land, housing, free time, education, transportation, even food [if you dont have land and cant garden and store up for the winter]. even apparently a relationship. you cant get anywhere without it, money gets money. no money, no life. so sad that people are valued by how much they own and can make. so sad people cant live without it.
so yea I guess sadly money is pretty desirable.
and with all the health technology, whats on top? is better health, so apparently many of us still want better health so we can have the stamina to make more money....lol and do things.
me for one... yes give me more energy
money came before family, hmm i dont know how to interpret that other than without money, you cant afford a family...
and Where do Friends rate??? i dont see that on there. Id be thrilled to have friends.
moral virtue, wow out with the trash, eh? I sure can see that bad apple seed growing.
For me personally, love would be great right now, we all need it to survive. health second for sure, family is a no brainer, and if I were 20 yrs younger Id say friends first, then career success, and that leads to better money, and probably everything else would fall into place ,like having a life.
right now Im not able to choose a path, [I dont have someone to be my partner in life, and help guide me along,] so its dictated to me by the basic necessity of life.
I work , that's about it, lol
