some that i have heard lately spewed from my mom..
you have 'apostate thinking'
we have an 'international brotherhood'
we must be 'obedient to gods word'
donation 'arrangement' lol
i was browsing through stuff on jw.org recently and ran across some expressions that really grate on my nerves: loyal love, loving-care, and loving-kindness, as in: "please exercise loving-kindness toward your servant.
" who talks like that?
they must be relics of the fred franz era.

i am just wondering here: almost every single quote in jw literature for which a source can be found, is taken out of context..
personally, i have checked almost every quote in the 5-questions brochure, some on dating and the cross in reasoning book, and some in magazine articles i found interesting..
just checked the "they envisioned a universe subject to whims of gods" quote in the feb 2016 awake..
there would have to be a heavily influenced viewpoint, and compromised conscience to be a writer for the WT. At what age do we suppose that a person would be considered 'trained' enough to be assigned an article?
How long would it take to brain damage a normal thinking person in order for them to have such unfortunate illogical conclusions? Does the writing dept ever use any other bible or resources outside those that are in the watchtowers own resource material? i wonder, How many people have left the headquarters shortly after arriving, realizing hey have just been required to sacrifice their consciences? In order to prove to my mom, that shes being misled, Id have to have the actual book from which these misquotes were taken, with the lines highlighted, and then then the actual watchtower that it was printed in, with the lines highlighted, but I bet shed reason it away and still call me misled, lol. her biggest fear of course, is her hope to live forever is gone if the bible is proven to her to be just a crazy history book. that's everyone's fear. that takes away all hope. and hope is all people really have.
hey everyone.
i'm sorry that this isn't a very thought provoking post but i could really use some advice on how to handle this.
there isn't anyone else in my life i can ask right now because, being dfed, all of my friends are "worldly" and don't know how witnesses function.
The Service Dept will send a copy of your letter and the email to the CO and to the Cong.
not according to my sources.
the service department is not obligated to send a letter , Ive had someone who was DF tell me that is what he discovered.
Just because you send a letter, to no matter whom, it doesn't mean they have to share it, or even read it, or forward it. this person tried the letter thing once a year, until he died, and go nowhere with that.
years ago, when i was a teen and not baptized, not even attending meetings regularly, for like years, I was DF. my mom flipped out on the elders , she told them, 'shes not even baptized! you cant do that'. oh they argued with her, Im pretty sure they did it to get back at her, [ through me..... always the victim] she is pretty opinionated, lol, and she went directly to the CO, then the DO, and told them, and wala, 3 months later I was 'reinstated' my mom being so much like the woman in the bible who nagged the king until she got her way... got her way.
has anyone seen this?
when did that happen?.

comments? lol, like what?
theres not enough room on that for my comments...
my friend tells me he gets sick of silly questions.
i tell him its part of the assimilation process.

WOW, lmao,
that clip was just the thing I needed to watch.
I love starting the day with humor.
coalize, i just lost it on your comment.lol
sigh, I miss my iphone...
today has been a horrible day.
what began as a day of joy finding out that one of my lifelong friends had her baby, turned into a nightmare when her brother called me to let me know she had passed away after birth.
i was in shock and didn't ask how.
oh sweetie, how awful, for all involved as well. just tragic.
Im so sorry you have lost a friend, and now have such a pain in your heart.
hugs.
so i was thinking the other day that the wt corp has produced thousands of books over the years.
although the writers have changed the style is almost always the same.
however, some books are just worse than others.
as for sickening insulting simple minded useless info, that bible teach book, Omg, really?
adults need to read those paragraphs out loud to other adults then answer those pathetic questions? thats how people learn about the bible?? NOT.
and yes, the Babylon the great book, OMG, I was like 8 when that was studied at the book study, seemed like they would never get through that, and no one knew what the heck it was even talking about!
oh and the 'family life ' happy' book, geeze, how successful was that nonsense. puke puke
quite interesting when you look at the bible objectively and the historical records.
it highlights the problems of using the bible as authoritative and validation of history.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxcutg0lvr0.
spoiler: didn't know that the immanuel prophecy attributed to jesus as being born from a virgin is actually a mistranslation.
i've always found it amazing that people can say with such conviction that jehovah is their friend.. we are talking about a "friend" who perhaps daily "tests" us to see if we are his friends.
all of us have dealt with some form of hardship such as the death of a loved one, chronic illness or whatever.
it is in these cases that the brothers will tell a person that perhaps it is a test, or that "jehovah knows you're not ready" or some other lame excuse.. do our real friends "test" us to see if we will be loyal to them?
stan,
where did you get that photo of the old cong i used to go to? ... lol
hey everyone.

omg,I feel so bad for you. Id FLIP!
is it really worth letting all those people walk all over your emotions and person, for contact with your family? unless you have some reason why you need them in your life, of course we dont know your situation. but that's absolutely sickening behavior. and yes the cong never looks at someone who was DF the same way again. its like you have a scarlet letter permanently on you.
one of my elder uncles once showed my now out son, his 'routine', and paperwork, had a chat with him about how things work.
and when my son got home, he [my son] told me that all records of everything you do go to the new cong you go to. [my son never went to a meeting again]
so there is no way 'new' elders are going to be any more likely to reinstate you any faster, or if at all. they keep in communication with the others. it might help though not being around all those old PIA's lol.
i knew of a man who was DF for having an dirty home, [yes they can do that] for years he was df, and died never being reinstated. he never did anything unscriptural, nor did his wife who died while he was DF.
to be honest, and i know you dont want to rock the boat, but omg,
here is what Id do
Id print up every one of those emails.
Id call for a meeting with the elder body and my x
Id take someone trustworthy with me, like a close friend as a second witness.
Id lay those emails out on the table and have my friend read them.
then Id walk out, saying,
May Jehovah judge you with what judgment you gave me.
just sayin.
