Maybe someone's counting their time while posting to this thread.
That would be very sly...
yes- everyone has faults and makes mistakes; an organization even more so.. yet, you ignore all the fingers pointing at you.. many here have no faith.
many here go to churches who lie about everything biblical; look at x-mas!.
but at least we know god and christ and try to live up to their name!.

Watchtower leadership make up doctrines that the JW's follow out of fear of expulsion.
There's other stuff, but this is the start/root of it in it's most basic form.
how many of us would get up and "start your time" by 6:00am or earlier?.
i sure did my fair share and convinced many others to join me semi-regularly.. we'd stand out in front of "somewhere/something", you remember?.
donut shop, 7-11, liquor store ( genius ), driving to laundry rooms or coin-op's, etc... anyway, this past sunday i was pumping fuel for the long trip home early in the morning out of l.a. to norcal, when i spotted a young, energetic version of myself 20 years ago.
That could be the ultimate reply to someone that charges another with apostasy:
"I was just pretending".
This plan can not fail!
i finally made it back here to our great forum community!.
after a few issues trying to get used to the new format, and after a few sign in issues, i'm back.... (sorry to simon for anything i may have done to complicate it.
i started a new username...which has since been deleted).
i mean, anyone with a real bible and half a brain doesn't need to log onto a website and read nonsense.. its not a bible study when you present someone a book or magazine to read along in.. its not the gospel, when its not about jesus.
so what is being pushed in the service meeting to be done at doors?.
and with what result expected?
Looking back, what ever was "our message"?
There are people that shun me who likely are unable to express their own hope, let alone teach it from the scriptures.
On the odd occasion when my wife listens to the meeting over the phone, I cringe when a demonstrated field service presentation is heard. Total opposite of what really happens at 99.9% of the doors. Painful.

The conversation ended abruptly with him backing away "like a crawdad back into his hole".
I'll never forget that illustration used by an especially feisty Circuit Overseer.
The young JW pioneer will either have to pretend he did not hear my words or he'll battle with himself to prevent the doing of independent research.

Is this what a post from the bethelite theocratic war room looks like?
( we all know they read the forums )
it looks like the movies about end of the days and the fantasy movies are very much in fashion.
do you think a movie about the end of the system and the life in the new system could captivate the audiences?.
after all more than 90 % of americans are christians and say they believe in the bible.
There'd likely be some wild plot twist, post Armageddon.
Some New World Society Radicals (NWSR) develop a Conduct Cloaking Device (CCD) that enables them to live a secret double life far from the prying eyes of Jehovah the New World Governing Body (NWGB).
That way they can do whatever they please without detection.
Sounds familiar for some reason...

It really was 6 hours.
We were on a 12 hour road trip.

Anyway, this past Sunday I was pumping fuel for the long trip home early in the morning out of L.A. to NorCal, when I spotted a young, energetic version of myself 20 years ago. All zealous and fearless. 25 year oldish witness with bible and JW.ORG banner sticking out of the top of it.
It was like a little billboard poking right out of his bible ( from god )
So he engages me.
I immediately interrupt, telling him that I was a JW for 25 years and no longer attend, not DF'd or DA'd. I pointed to my wife in the truck and mentioned that she still attends all of the meetings. He sort of sputtered. It broke his rhythm.
I told him about Watchtower being a ten year member of the UN. He wanted to know where I heard that. I told him I read the public notice issued by the UN due to so many inquiries on the matter. He said I should know better. He said it's all lies and I should know better.
Then it got super weird.
He's backing away while scolding me, smiling and waving to my wife as she waves back.
Then more cowardly denial as I mention that we were studying the Revelation book while we were members of the UN. He excused himself and gave one more "thumbs up" to my wife. She waved back.
How cute!
So, I turn and finish pumping.
My wife didn't ask me what I said to him for nearly 6 hours.
It was amusing.
