what do you think is the main reason why so many young ones are waking up?

seems as though the number of baptisms even for the young ones is down from what people report here.

at my former hall the young ones are all in totally sheltered even while going to school.

expressing thier desires to pioneer etc.

I believe it is two part, with the internet being the top reason.
( TTATT is always just a click away )

Second, is the sheer embarrassment of admitting to being a JW to any non-JW.

It's like openly declaring that evidence is of no importance to them and a life of blatant ignorance and blind trust is preferred.

When you are unable to defend, question, explain or have pride in your faith, it's all over.

the only publication i really remember, was the "mankind's search for god" book that touched on the beliefs and practices of muslims.. why do you think this is the case?.

When I was still a JW, no fellow JWs ever talked about Islam.
It was some foreign-mystery religion that nobody knew about...Just that they are part of Babylon the Great.

Islam, in my opinion, represents total evil.

It's the 'King of the Cults'.

If one does not support Sharia Law being spread earth wide and does not believe that Muhammad was the best example on how to live, he is not a Muslim. Plain and simple.

If one does not support Jehovah's Kingdom being spread earth wide and does not believe that the Governing Body is the best example on how to live, he is not a JW. Plain and simple.

The more I actually read the various scriptures, the more I realize how accountable they really are.

The lies and deception are overwhelming me.

Very Weird Experience During Recent Special Talk After Memorial

hesitantly i attended this talk with my family and sat through it without batting an eye.. mentally i take myself out during the entire meeting some would describe this as daydreaming or zoning out.

whatever the case may be, for some reason this particular speaker, whom i know of but not personally, got my attention the way he would say certain phrases.

he cited some texts that directly advised the audience that faith in christ was the only way to salvation.

There was this one elder.
He would use, 'father' as a word-whisker.
Instead of continuing a coherent thought in his prayer, it was father this and father that. It got to be so ridiculous that certain ones, shamefully myself included, would keep our eyes open and make eye contact with others when he began to rack up the 'fathers'.

Some would actually count the number of times he would say it and compare notes with others right after the meeting.

Wow...

NOW it's Important

i have spent 45 years of my life sacrificing my soul to the watchtower.

twenty-five of those years as a ms/elder.

i gave every moment to them.

This experience rings true and dear to me.

A very long time and close friend of mine is shunning me.
He is also a fire/EMT. He has always been a spiritual sloth.
Inactive, misses meetings for 'any reason'.

Now he's 'loyal'.

We really were like brothers. We went on fishing trips and we wouldn't shower or shave for a week. Spitting sunflower seed *everywhere*.
We'd open the truck door and seeds would fall out. Pretty gross, but we just didn't care. Tailgate lunches between fishing hole hopes. We'd drive 700 miles in search of fish. It was really because of our friendship. I miss him terribly and I know he is tormented.

His fire station is one mile from my house in a rural area, so I see him in passing from time to time as he attends to emergencies.

Last week he was literally 200 yards from my driveway directing traffic as they recovered a wrecked vehicle. I rode my bike over there and just looked at him. Didn't wave. Just sat and watched. Very sad.

Back over the years, I spent countless attempts to reactivate or encourage him to go in service with me. I was genuinely trying to help my friend.

I'm wicked now in his eyes...

The two elders threaten my sister again

as i reported here in this forum, some time ago, my sister was constantly harried by two elders so as to be submitted to a judiciary committee for apostasy.

these two elders were constantly hounding her in the street when she walks to go to her job.

so she had to send them a notary letter in which she wrote that she would attend the judiciary committee only with her attorney.

If I really wanted to avoid being DF'd for apostasy it would have been a lot of work and time spent for what, in the end?

They were already shunning me and I was absolutely sure that I would NEVER go back to the KH for any reason.

I should have DA'd three years ago when I first learned TTATT.

If your sister can come to terms with this reality, I think she should consider ignoring them completely and let them do what they do or simply hand them an "F. U. letter", I mean formal disassociation.

Then she can have true peace and freedom.
The pain of shunning is pretty bad, however.
I'm at the anger stage. Angry that the policy still exists.

It's all so ridiculous. They are making it about loyalty.
Ultimately a loyalty oath to the GB.
