During my 25 year Dub Stint, I must have seen 20 people 'come back'.
Lots do.
Possible reasons:
scared
lonely
guilty
don't fit in elsewhere
family
Power through the pain, leaving is the best choice

Do You Think a Schism is in the Future?
by lepermessiah ini was thinking about this over the weekend.
just this week, there was the "consolidation" talk (in my wife's congregation) , the article about shunning that went viral, and the annual "show your love and obedience to jehovah by giving us your money" watchtower.
i know my wife said people are running scared about this consolidation even though it was sold as maximizing space to help other areas, build kh in other countries, etc...... the media and government has hit them hard in many countries, but they have gotten off easy in the usa, where the majority of the people and money reside.

The religion is just a caricature of itself now.
It'll get to the point, where donating money will be 'service to Jehovah'.
Will they wake up then? Many will not.
---
I don't see a break-away.
It's getting to the point where most JWs have friends or family that they shun.
I wonder how many ex JWs there are compared to active JWs? -

I always fear mass suicides of older ones that have been hanging on for decades.
These are the ones that ignored there better judge from 1975 as adults or younger.
They are already bitter and disgruntled.
They gave up almost every personal goal to slave for a corporation.
"The time left remaining is short."
Now they have to accept the overlapping generation.Think about it.

I was quite tolerant of this guy until now
by never a jw inpresident trump is definitely a demagogue, a populist, and not a great extemporaneous speaker, just to mention few of his more conspicuous flaws.
however, i was going along because "it's the economy stupid".
now that has changed.

EMDR Therapy Anyone?
by Brian J intwo+ months into marital counseling for my wife (pimi) and i (pimo).
wife after decades of marriage decides for the first time to bring up separation due to, drum-roll please...... absolute endangerment of spiritual life.
a spouse may constantly try to make it impossible for the mate to pursue true worship or may even try to force that mate to break god’s commands in some way.

I've had the therapy for a few different reasons.
PTSD for a bad car accident while I was still a dub, PTSD from a large earthquake I lived through after quitting the dubs. Also, some dub related sessions.
I'm trying to go again. It's a very simple process and I'm happy to answer any questions if I can.

Regarding this so called judgment message..
by nowwhat? inwill our fearless leaders the gb call a news conference and invite all the major news networks and outlets and put their asses on the line and declare "you are all doomed!
" or will they have the rank and file do all the dirty work while they sit back in their gated corporate country club?!
ask any jdub that question!.

I think so few will participate in this "judgement message".
It's like the GB is trying to wake everyone up.
Maybe they should have Stephen Lett or Tony Morris do a sample door to door presentation so everyone sees how Jesus' brothers do it...Better yet, just have the dubs show the video at the door.
"This is our leader, listen to his important message..."

Boyfriend force me to study the bible or no marriage
by MuslimWoman inmy boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).
he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.
but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.

Watchtower= dangerous cult with millions of followers.
Islam= the most dangerous cult with over a billion followers.
Drop them both and determine your own path while you enjoy personal freedom. -

".... toward the vindication of his sovereignty and the sanctification of his holy name!"-- what the heck does that even mean?
God is not satisfied unless his defective creation adores and worships him in the ever changing, 'right way'. Any that refuse will be killed.
