How many have left the WTS and joined another church/group?

at this point in my life i don't think i could trust any religious group.

i don't even feel the need to be a part of anything like that right now, and maybe never will.. but i know of some who have joined other churches/groups since leaving the borg.. why do some join another religion and why won't some ever get involved again?.

what makes us so different?.

I was never a part of the WTS. What brought me to the site was a friend of mine who is in the WTS, I wanted to do some research myself and I stumbled upon this site I have been to several different churches and have never found one that would "suit my needs". LOL I do believe that there is a higher power just not sure what/who it is. If curiosity really killed the cat then I would have been dead by now. At the time I came to this site I was considering going to a meeting with the JW's....after reading many posts I decided against it.

Mulan~ One of several books I am reading (I have a hard time reading one at a time) focuses on the issues of the different nations and all the religious problems. It's called, Abraham: A journey to the heart of three Faiths by Bruce Feiler. Leap of Faith, Memoirs of an Unexpected Life sounds like a similar book. One more I can add to my collection. Thanks

tal- Marilyn French, The Women's Room sound sounds like an excellent book. I may have to pick this one up as well :). I went out and bought The Davinci Code, probably should read that one first.

A Strange Coincidence...the sky is falling!

something strange happened to me yesterday on the subway coming home from work.

an awake article, the one about "the internet and pornography, who does it effect" fell right at my feet.

i looked around to see who dropped/threw it down but didn't see anyone.. my first jw-paranoia thought was that i was followed by a jw spy and they dropped it so i could see it.

My mum always tells me that the internet is a tool of Satan-yet she calls me to look up information for her....LOL

Personally, I feel the internet without porn would have failed long ago.....not that I look at that stuff anyway

jacksonville, fla. - a 2-year-old girl left home alone for 2 1/2 weeks while her mother was in jail has been released from the hospital after being treated for malnutrition and dehydration, officials said wednesday .

the child, who survived by eating ketchup, mustard and dried pasta, was released late tuesday from wolfson children's hospital to the custody of the state department of children & families.

"the only thing i can tell you is that she is in good condition," hospital spokesman david foreman said.

some dastardly villain has set up a device that will explode unless the two scales are each loaded with 6 litres of water.

you have a 12-litre bucket that is full of water along with empty 8 litre and 5 litre containers .

It goes like this: 12,0,0; then 0,8,4; then 4,8,0; then 4,3,5; then 9,3,0; then 9,0,3; then 1,8,3; then 1,6,5, then 6,6,0 (the order of containters is the 12 liter, 8 liter, then 5 liter).

You start with the full 12 container and first fill the 8 liter containter full and put the rest in the 5 liter containter (since there's only 4 liters left in the 12 liter bucket, the 5 liter container only has 4 liters in it). Then your containers are as follows: zero liters in the 12 liter bucket, 8 liters in the 8 liter bucket and 4 liters in the 5 liter bucket. 0,8,4

Actually you could do it this way: Dump 8 liters into the 8 liter container and then dump five of those liters in the five liter containter, leaving the buckets as follows: 4,3,5

Start with the 12 liters and dump 8 of those liters into the 8 liter container. then you have 4 liters left in the 12 liter container.

Then in turn take the 8 liter container and fill up the 5 liter container, leaving only 3 liters in the 8 liter container.

So now your 12 liter container has 4 liters, your 8 liter container has 3 and your 5 liter container has 5.

Now take you 5 liter container and dump it back into the 12 liter container.then your 12 liter container has 9 liters, your 8 liter container has 3 and your 5 liter container has 0. 9,3,0--for short

then dump the 3 liters from your 8 liter container into your 5 liter container, leaving 0 liters in the 8 liter container.

Now your containers look like this: 9,0,3. 9 in the 12 liter container, 0 in the 8 liter and 3 in the 5 liter.

Now take your 9 liters in the 12 liter container and fill up your 8 liter container again, leaving 1 liter in the 12 liter container, 8 in the 8 liter container and 3 in the 5 liter container. 1,8,3

Now take your 8 liter container and add 2 more liters to your 5 liter container (which already has 3 liters in it) and now your 5 liter container is full. H ence your containers look like this: 1 in the 12 liter, 6 in the 8 liter and 5 in the 5 liter. Now all you have to do is empty your 5 liter container back into the 12 liter container--and wallah, you have 6 liters in the 12 liter container and 6 liters in the 8 liter container.
