Appreciate discussion & everybody's point. By no means am I dawgging people that like Sci-Fi movies, books etc. Just find it odd that it is widely accepted in JW land & they are so taboo about other things like vampire movies etc.
In my local congregation there was alot of the "Desperate Housewives Club" that were into the Vampire movie craze a few years ago, it definatley caused a stir in the congregation. I thought it was hilarious how they PICK & CHOOSE what they want to be "holier than thou on" & make concessions on other things. Hypocrites!!

I have always wondered why alot of JW's that I know are really into alot of Sci-Fi stuff like Star Wars, I Robot, X-Men stuff etc. I mean they take it another level with this fantasy stuff. They don't miss a movie, buy the DVD, quote movie lines. It's actually pathetic!
Isn't it a double standard in the way alot of JW's dismiss movies or just anything else that they deem unholy? But isn't Sci-Fi in the same boat as well?

Sitting through this weeks WT study. Paragraph came up about how "a fire came out from Jah & consumed (korah and) the 250 men offering the incense". I said to myself this supposedly happened couple of thousand years ago. It is the year 2014 what relevance do these bible accounts or I think now made up stories have anything to do, with what is happening now?
Then the detailed account in paragraphs 8-11 about how "Timothy would not have been swayed by the actions of those apostate tendecies" & he stood for true worship. On & On it goes. It is like WT was there recording each & every aspect of what SUPPOSEDLY HAPPENED.
I really am starting to think that the whole bible thing is really starting to look more like a bunch of little stories contrived by man. Just an opinion & still trying to figure things out for myself. NMH

by ADJUSTMENTS ingb member and so called "annointed" person geoffry jackson is caught red handed on video doing some worldly dancing and sexual gyrating (they have spoken against such manner of dancing on several occasions) with a woman who is not his wife!!!
i can only imagine what they do off camera now!!!.
i would not have even considerd doing such a thing on the dance floor with a woman, especially if it was not my wife, and i'm not even one of the so called "annointed" smh!!!

When I first learned about the bull $#@! about the cult that I am in, I reached out to my good friend who brought me into this organization through a study. This man is wonderful human being & I thought would be understanding to my struggles. It is going on almost 2 years now & I still have not heard back from him.
I was very sincere with my ?'s to him, he was after all an elder in the ORG. I wasn't sure that something was wrong with ORG until our conversation was abruptly ended by his re-action to what I was asking him. The clincher for him was when I asked about NGO staus etc. He said "There is no way that is true period" so I knew then that there is no reasoning with him whatsoever.
I realized that night without a doubt in my mind it is a CULT! Now I just gotta convince wife & couple of other family members. It has been very hard though, but I remain optimistic. NMH

Would you go to church?
by Coded Logic ini have an unspoken rule that if someone ever invites me to a church - that i haven't been to before - i will go.
even though i'm an atheist i'm still interested in the experiance.
just like i'm not into basketball but i would like to go to a game sometime to feel the energy of the crowd.. growing up as a jw i've never set foot in another church.
