  What do you have to be thankful for?

  given the recent holiday, i can't help but reflect that this has been a very good year and my life is pretty damn good.

  there was a lot of hard work, but i get a sense that i am finally reaping the benefits of years of effort.. what do you have to be thankful for and has 2014 been a good year?.

  Many things.

  Definitely thankful that I escaped from the WTS and my first marriage - If I hadn't I really don't think I would have survived.

  Thankful that I have everything that I need in terms of food and shelter.

  Thankful that I have work that I love.

  Thankful that my elderly mother and aunt are still here after being in and out of the hospital all year, and they are currently doing well.

  Most of all thankful for my wonderful husband, who loves me no matter what, and I love him too with all my heart.

  ive been to an eerily accurate psychic who got so many things right.

  i dont believe in god but i definitely believe in a spirit world.

  if you have been to a psychic who has been accurate have you ever asked about the future of jws?

  Yup, been to many.

  After JWs I went to a spiritualist after some arm-twisting from friends. I was given various bits of info, but also was told that my grandmother (who was named -not a common name) was looking out for me and saying the "Lord's Prayer" for me.

  Some year later I owned and managed a metaphysical bookstore, knew many psychics. I had some unusual readings which were specifically accurate about some people in my life (i.e. named names). Nevertheless, after running psychic fairs for a number of years I came to believe that it was mostly a sham and mostly done for $.

  Still, there were things told to me that were so specific that they were not easily explained, and so the ability to "read" remains a question mark.

  Feeling sad over a wasted life in watchtower

  it's been 12 years since i first read ray franz's books and the scales came off my eyes.

  by that time i was in my forties.. since 2002 i went back to school and have worked with 3 very professional organizations.

  but my biological clock is ticking away and while my peers are looking forward to retirement, i am only beginning.

  I have been out since 1976 (right after 1975).

  Denied a college education, it really was too late as my life had taken another trajectory. I fell in love with the President of the company for which I worked. Married at the time, he said, "this is all wrong, you have got to get out of your marriage and your religion."

  This man, who was not emotionally stable, gave me the impetus and the catalyst to get out. Within 6 months I was out and within a year divorced.

  I was always artistic, could have had a major artistic career, but alas, it is what it is.

  The affair was doomed; I spent many years working in corporate which I hated and meeting men and women through personal ads.

  These many years later I am married to my wonderful second husband (who once studied for the Catholic priesthood), and I have a very successful and active shop on Etsy.

  Life is interesting. And it is very short. It is about the journey. Make the most of it. It could always have been better. It could always have been worse.

  I couldn't help but notice that there was a large stack of Watchtowers and Awakes piled high on the kitchen table. Under a Catholic icon picture. Person had obviously been very sick and had lots of religious books of all sorts around the house.

  I could imagine this person being subjected to return visits ad nauseum as he/she was most likely housebound and hungering for company, answers, etc.

  No evidence that they were ever disdovered...

  I would live on earth in about an acre of land, in some (dead) rich person's architecturally designed house. With my now former Bethelite XHusband. For vacations I would ride on the back of the shark from NY to England.

  which would you pick (and perhaps why):.

  1) you can continue living your life as it is, die when you might, and that's that.. 2) you can instead agree to die in 1 year in exchange for this: you will be granted access to the entire past and future history of intelligent life in the universe.

  Well I would REALLY like to know what is going on. i.e. God/no god.

  If God I will certainly know how to spend the last year.

  If no god I will still know how to spend the last year.

  At 67, death does not seem that far away anyway.
