I like how it looks in other people but not for myself. A question specially for women.
by StarTrekAngel ini like how it looks in other people but not for myself.. this is a phrase i have heard often from my wife.
now i am to a point where i am trying to figure it out if this is something all women do or say.
i can understand how you would say this if you were talking about a type of clothing that doesn't go with your figure, except that you may add the disclaimer... "if i had that figure i would wear this".

Last night's talk re sisters wearing head covering, puke making!
by purrpurr indear sisters,.
when you are fortunate enough to be in the presence of a jw penis you must take care to show the proper respect for it!
doesn't matter if said penis is prepubescent!

death at the 'memorial'
by eyeuse2badub ini just got the news from our former congregation in hollister, ca regarding a tragic event following the 'memorial' wednesday night.
we shared the kh with 2 spanish congos.. a couple from the spanish congregation were leaving the kh so that the next spanish congo could have their 'memorial'.
they exited the parking lot in their car when hit by an oncoming car right in front of the kh.

New bethel rebuild
by Gratefullyunstuck ina friend of mine who is still very much in and trying to get me back to meetings, told me her and her husband are going to project manage the new build and the sale of all the buildings in london.
i said 'wow, they will have made loads of money on those properties in london' she liked a little uncomfortable..... i'm thinking as i believe they are genuine honest people, will they be exposed more to the hidden ongoings a of the society in the bethel?.
surely all the development and program planning, is done by people knowing they have to keep people believing, so therefore, they must know it is all b#lloxs.

i hope this makes sense?

Religion’s ‘helping’ hand in poverty.
It’s no secret that the predominant religious institutions are some of the wealthiest bodies in our world today. Yet even among all of the collections of gold and assets, their high-stakes morals, and their claim to be the world’s path to salvation, the religious institutions have failed to help solve the poverty pandemic worldwide. This is something they surely have the finances to, at the very least, drastically reduce.
Ironically enough, many of the developing nations of people are enveloped in the lure of organized religion, following the teachings ever so diligently without drawing a connection to the fact that these religious institutions have the means to help, but simply are not.

Jehovah's Witnesses and "winter decorations"
by Lynnie inso how many jw's do you know that do "winter decorations" instead of "holiday decorations"?
i have a cousin that is upbaptized but very much on board with the jw's but somehow snowmen and pine boughs are okay to decorate the house as long as there is no tree.
have anyone of you heard or seent his practice?

Half of our Lounge is decorated in snow, winter trees, lights, snowflakes, polar bears, reindeer, penguins, snowmen, hedgehogs etc, not one thing relating to Christmas, can't believe my 'non active' but very much believing husband actually went with it. His devout family including his father (ex PO) said the thought it was great! Cool, well in that case Mr Snowman will be dropping off presents soon then....... 'It's ok, just something I made up, so we should be fine' seriously........ They should see the unnecessary repression WT hold!
bring on Spring, flowers, lambs, blossoms, baby rabbits, eggs......oh!

Glaring discrepency in Blood Doctrine
by kjg132 ini found an article on the dr. sears website about the benefits of breasfeeding.
according to the article it says: "a drop of breastmilk contains about one million white blood cells.
" it also says "colostrum also contains higher amounts of white blood cells..........than mature milk.

I had exactly the same thoughts, not one of my husbands family could answer this question. I played the dumb one saying, I reallyunsurewbether I should feed my baby because researching breastfeeding says that breast milk mainly contains white blood cells, but we are forbidden to take white blood cells I understand, or are there two types of white blood cells?
interestingly, I've still it got an answer, I may bring it up again soon!
