Untheocratic!
by Atlantis inhow can it be said that gods visible organizationwas made strictly theocratic or was fully theocratic in structure by 1938, when there are revisions and changes from time to time in organization instructions?.
.. first of all, we must recognize what is meant when we say gods visible organization was made strictly or fully theocratic.
the term theocracy means god rule or rule by god.

You ought to know positively the appearance of your flock
by leaving_quietly inthis famous line from proverbs 27:23 (in the old nwt) is used for elders and the organization to justify field service reports.
but, what is this verse talking about?
is it about overseers in the congregation?

There's an elder in my Cong who calls every sister 'sister' and every brother 'brother' when conducting a study. So much for 'knowing your flock'

Come on! Tell it like it is. People are LYING when they tell you, "I've read the Bible."

LOL I love the comments. Some frank, some funny , most of them truthful (which JWs don't have). I haven't read the bible cover to cover. I started Genesis once and it was just too boring. I like the new testament more. It's more practical. Proverbs and psalms are practical too. Most people I know who read from cover to cover do it just for the sake of saying with confidence they have read it entirely . reading it entirely does not change you in any way. Applying it will. For those who think the bible is just a story book, well that's your decision. But recently seeing TTATT, I think the bible is one of my proofs that God exists. The WT just uses the bible to support itself and makes people think the bible was written only for them.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

I don't think they'll ever stop the shunning policy. If they do people would leave the org in drones.
The same with the blood issue. If they stop it, people would wake up in an instant . oh what a cult!

Hugs to you LennaB. As one commenter said, don't make hasty decisions at this point. Relax and think freely about your past , present and future and decide, based on what you have learnt the choice you want to make. But don't let it put too much stress on you.
The GB is always making people feel guilty for not doing everything they say.

"So, how many tracts did you place last month during the campaign???"
by stuckinarut2 inas we all know, the org now wants everyone to count the number of flimsy, one page tracts on every monthly report from now on.... so, what is the general buzz around the traps about how many the average witness is reported to have placed?.
(yes, it is a seriously stupid thing designed to keep the flock busy and also designed to measure their 'spirituality').
i need to fudge my report, and i havent got the foggiest clue what sort of numbers each witness has on average 'placed'......

I don't know. I didn't bother to keep count. I'll just choose a random number for them

by crazyhorse inso is it a must and an absolute requirement to be a ministerial servant in the org?.
i was told that if i refuse an appointment as an ms then it means i'm opposing "jehovah's call to service".

Stuckinarut2, yes you got it right.
Pete, wow I know what that looks like. I've seen bros go through the same. Nothing is good enough in the org.
Why is it so hard to be yourself and to voice out your opinions in the org?
Ugh its a mental prison.
@wannaexit exactly so. Everything is used to measure spirituality, as if its something to be measured. They forget only God read hearts.
