I think most elders enjoy df'ing. So my answer is, yes, one can be df'd for just about anything.

Human kindness
by stillin ini hold kindness in high regard; it separates us from the drudgery of life and elevates those who practice it as well as those who receive it.
my family has been going through a big crisis for several weeks now and i've noticed a few things.
several of the elders have expressed their concern for us, shared a scripture and then back out to field service or whatever.

I am sorry that your family is going through hard times...I really am so sorry. You know, often we hear '"adversity makes one stronger", or "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger". I hate those cliches and I hate trouble. I hate for people to have to go through difficulties. We weren't designed to endure tough times. But, we have to...it happens to all of us. Take care of yourself and your family, love each other and know that even adversity doesn't last forever, and things will work out. Accept all the love and concern you are shown, and know that you and yours will be alright.
Anyway, Take Care,

Consider the "outcome" when elders apply the two-witness "rule"
by AndersonsInfo injehovahs witnesses two-witness rule is applied by elders when a witness member accuses another member of a sin, even if that sin is a criminal act.
if there arent two witnesses to the accusation, it goes nowhere, including not being reported to the authorities.
and in the case of an allegation of child abuse, the accused is free to molest again.. watchtower attorney, jim mccabe, recently stated this about jehovahs witnesses two-witness rule which he described as a bible-based belief :.

talesin ~ "Indeed, if YOUR child is raped, and there are not two witnesses, YOU can be disfellowshipped for warning other parents and thereby slandering the Brother or Sister who offended them, as far as Jehovah's Organization is concerned."
This is exactly what happened to me.

new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?
by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

I've heard so many of these stories, and that's what they are...stories. I really hate the the story in which the brother was on a boat with his son and a 'wordly' friend. Both boys fall overboard in a storm and the brother could only save one boy so he saved the friend because he knew his son would be resurrected. Years later the boy is grown and the two men are at a KH, the older one giving the talk and relating this tale. He points to a younger man in the audience and says this is the boy, who is now a CO. Everyone cries and cheers.
IMHO these stories are terrible and whomever relates them, just to get an emotional response, should be ashamed of themselves. Just tell the truth, is that so hard to do. The truth is always more interesting than fiction.
Anyway, Take Care

A QUESTION FOR JW'S who say, "The brothers were overly zealous" about 1975
by Terry in"what was the actual significance of that year, then?".
if jw's were overly zealous, what was the exact amount of zeal encouraged by the wts for a non-event which took up.
over 7 years of every jw's time?.

Life is too Short: You are being waaaaaaaay too hard on yourself. You believed and you did everything you could so that you would be able to volunteer...because you had a good heart and a willing spirit. Don't keep dissing yourself. I used to dream of going to Bethel and helping, or being a missionary, but I was/am a nobody in the JW world so that never happened. Don't feel badly because you were loving, kind and willing to give up all you had. You aren't the one who should feel badly.....the people who hurt you and used you are the folks who should feel guilty and beg your forgiveness.
AND you weren't/aren't stupid. Quit saying that. You thought everyone had the goodness that you do....you had to find out the hard way that this isn't true.
Anyway, Take care.

@All for show ~ I agree with your relatives' statement about the corruption. I hate to say it, but I don't trust anyone at the KH. (maybe this says more about me). Also, I think the GB did themselves a great dis-service by bringing themselves to the forefront. When they were 'invisible' the JW atmosphere was of serious Bible study. Now it's a circus and the GB will be/are the butt of many jokes.
Anyway, Take Care
