Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

I was df'd 26 years ago, and during that time, I have had only one of my former 'friends' talk to me. I've been, shoved, scowled at, run away from, pushed into a wall, sneered at and scoffed at, while attending the meetings, after my df'ing. I only heard from one of my "friends" 5 years ago, when she called to ask for $5,000.00 to send to a man she had met online so that he could come to the USA. She asked me to take out a loan or borrow from my kids to get the money. I didn't give it to her and after a few weeks of her begging, and her realizing that she was getting nowhere, she disappeared. After living df'd for 26 years, I have come to the conclusion that shunning will never be done away with by the org. The people are basically mean, and love to act superior, and shunning is a great tool to accomplish that. The organization may appear to lighten up on shunning but it will be a facade, and won't translate to the r & f. I have had dozens of meetings, with dozens of elders, and nothing has changed or gotten any better in that regard. I'm 72 and have a good and meaningful life with a great husband who has gone through all of this with me. Poor guy, we met after I was df'd and he's been witness to the abuse all these years. This is my experience and my opinion. Don't hold your breath, shunning is here to stay. I love the Bible, Jehovah and Jesus, but people broke me.

I'm so sorry you have lost your mother. It's difficult when one parent passes, but it's so much more difficult when the second one dies. I hope your children are a comfort to you. My parents have both passed away, I miss them, and at 72 yrs old, I consider myself an orphan.

King of the North
by pontoon ini've been out for 13 years.
just wondering who the society is identifying as the king of the north?.

The King of the North has always been Russia as stated by the Watchtower. There was a lapse for a little while, but It was Russia 70 yrs ago and it's Russia now.

2019 Annual Meeting: more F.O.G.
by neat blue dog inafter the new construction project is announced, anthony morris the turd gives a talk where he arrogantly tells the audience to 'get over it' and get to work.
he says relaxing is fine and 'im not trying to put a guilt trip on you' but you all need to get busy.
no graciousness at all for the endless volunteer labor they demand for whatever new projects they dream up.

Is it possible to provide the link to his talk? Thank you! :)

Just for fun...
by Vidiot in…(and for the very first time), i thought i'd post a new topic completely non-wt-related... about a subject matter i have a particular affinity for.... ..i'm a major movie geek (most people here already know that), but one of the many things i especially like are what i call "middle-finger victory lines".. they are memorable (and extremely quotable) moments of dialogue, wherein the protagonist says an extremely cool or badass comment to a very deserving defeated opponent.... ...usually (but not always) said when victory has just been literally snatched from the clutches of certain defeat, and serving as a tall, proud, and victorious flipoff to the often (but not always) shocked-at-the-sudden-turn-of-events enemy.. my ten favorites:.
"smile, you sonofabitch.
"sheriff brody to the shark......just before firing his last bullet into a scuba tank lodged in the charging shark's open jaws.jaws (1975).

With these 2 long term building projects will it FINALLY wake up some jdub's?
by nowwhat? inwith the ramped up rhetoric the last few years many were totally convinced the end would be here by 2019-20 .
and instead of making due, the org.
has burdened the brothers once again to donate and volunteer for the new and improved patterson and video production center to be completed by 2026!
