  Time to come out?

  for years i've been wondering if i should do this or not.

  there are only a handful(ok, maybe more than a handful) that know who i am and what i look like and who i used to post as.

  let's just say that i got my start here on simon's board roughly a day or two after it opened and was associated with h2o even further back.

  catchthis and Ritchierich- nope, sorry, I don't know either of you, but that would have been incredibly cool!

  I had the happy experience of bumping into an old friend on this board, about the time I started posting. I hadn't seen this person in maybe 12 years, but they'd given enough details about their life (and heck, they just talked a lot like my old friend) that I sent a pm, and lo and behold, it was the same person! That rocked.

  I still keep hoping my brother will start posting here, too. C'mon, bro, we don't bite!

  Listening to Bible story or drama cassettes

  did anyone grow up listening to the bible dramas or bible story book on cassette?.

  did anyone else find jehovah and his pronouncements very scary?

  it's like letting your kid watch an r rated violent movie right before bed.

  Oh, man, weren't those tapes a trip? When we didn't have television, they were my only form of entertainment. I vividly recall one where Moses' sister (Zipporah?) and their bro Aaron were being all prideful and such, and Jehovah gave her leprosy. The person doing her voice had this really bloodcurdling scream that used to terrify me. I mean, it seemed an exceedingly harsh punishment for a loving god to deal to a basically good person. Can't believe my parents used to want me to read and listen to such violent, scary stuff, and yet t.v. was considered bad.

  i just got a call from my childhood friend lets call him jerry.

  well for quite some time i have suspected that he was gay, and its come up in our conversation a few times as well.

  he wont own up to it though.

  Man, that's just awful. Whether he's gay or not should have no bearing on the situation. What should be everyone's concern is how good (responsible) a dad he is. I hope all works out for him and his son.

  BEST DRIVING SONGS

  in the uk a car program..top gear... is running a poll to find out what the number one driving song is....so thought we could do the same.... you know not the best for deliberately driving under a truck.

  when you are happy and alone in the car and just wanna sing out and drum on the steering wheel.

  Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run album- to really appreciate it, you should listen to the whole thing straight through, in order. Amazing lyrics that read like poetry, and it's fun to yell along with the title track.

  White Stripes' Elephant album. When I first got this, I played it pretty much nonstop for about two weeks; it's that good.

  Soundtrack of The Crow- excellent goth and metal from the early '90's. Especially fine is "After the Flesh" by MLWTTKK.

  Rum, Sodomy and the Lash, by the Pogues. Again, this is an album, as opposed to a single track. Good to listen to when it's 3am and he's done something thoughtless and you need to get out of the house and just drive so you can get some distance on the sitch.

  I learned the hard way not to listen to Prince in the car when I've got my mom with me. A while back, we'd gone someplace together, and I had been listening to his Hits album- lots of fun, upbeat dance numbers, which momma was enjoying. I left her sitting in the car for a minute while I dashed into the drugstore, and when I came back she was all panicked because the song Sexy MF (really explicit language) started playing and she couldn't figure out how to shut it off! So, she's not a Prince fan anymore.

  There's a woman in my town who very obviously dyes her hair- she's got 4 inches of grey, followed by 8 inches of reddish brown, with very clear demarcation. The thing is, she's always got those 4 inches of grey, and I've been observing her for nearly 6 years. I would have thought the grey would have gotten longer by now, or she'd have dyed it away, but it never changes. How, and more importantly why, does she do this?

  after reading jt stumbler's topic on avatars, i recognised that certain avatars appeal to me, and i'm sure others feel the same.... .

  elsewhere (no idea why, gimme a clue), ezekiel3 (says a lot), euphemism (loved the marx bros) and googlemagoogle (so classical) spring to mind, oh, ip_sec's last avatar (the red pyramid) - want to revert back ip_sec?

  oh, and stillajwexelder - after reading your posting on jt stumbler's thread i realise i previously had the wrong impression - lol.

  I always like the ones where we get to see the actual person. So, Arrowstar, darlin, I dig your pic! Abaddon's avatar is very nice, as is Evilforce's. Little Toe used to have one a while back, of him and a little fella, I think his nephew, that was cute. Cruzanheart has a lovely pic, too. There are a bunch of others I like, but I can't keep straight in my mind to whom they belong.
