She will not take this seriously. I can't get her to understand that he may be dead soon.
She's on the phone with the vet's office now, because I yelled at her. Hopefully we have an answer soon.

Calamityjane- Yeah I made her go look. She says she can't see anything on his tongue. I'm afraid it's in his intestines now.

Vet says $800-$1,000. She does not have this much, not even close.

Thanks, Minu. I gave him a glob of petroleum jelly (he really hates me now.) and we're watching closely. I'm trying to get my mom to pick up all her thread, yarn, floss, needles, etc., and stash them somewhere kitty can't get at them, but she's not doing it. I don't think she gets how serious this is. What he got into, she just told me, was some embroidery floss that had some sparkly thread in it. Not on a skein, it was unwound and ready to be sewn with. She doesn't know if it was on the needle yet.
Thanks, Finally Free. I'm making phone calls now.

For a while there, I was on medication that made me really drowsy and zombie-like (hmmmm, that sounds like an ideal dub!) Anyway, I used to pinch the inside of my arm to stay awake, until it was all bruised and I looked like a drug addict. I also used to drink a TON of coffee before hitting the hall.

A PUZZLING QUESTION...????...????...????
by Terry inthe "sacred secret" of god that creation was yearing to glimpse for so long was jehovah's plan of salvation and righteous government rescue operation.. yet, pagans, heathens and various crackpot primitives all came up with the same plan long before jehovah's was "revealed".
something smells bad about this!!.
i find it puzzling.. child sacrifice to appease wrathful deities is a disgusting solution to crop failure.

Shawn- good points, interesting posts. Most people are unaware that there can be such a thing as an atheist Wiccan. In fact, I've met a couple, although they seem to be the minority. One of the best and healthiest aspects of Paganism, in my opinion, is its ability to accommodate a diverse range of personal belief sets. It certainly makes for some interesting and enlightening discussions.
So, can I assume that you also don't cook up batches of yak entrails as part of your ritual? I'm sorry, that comment (a couple of pages back) about us Pagans made me laugh SO HARD. I've shown it to a few of my off-line friends (one Catholic, one Atheist, and the Atheist's Santerian wife) and they all howled...until they realized the individual was actually serious.

I pick B. We're all born monsters, screaming for what we want. Our parents have to teach us to share, to be compassionate; it does not come naturally. Not for me, anyway. I have to make a conscious decision to be kind to others, it's not my first impulse.

I was given a photocopy of that piece of dreck about twenty years ago. It's been around at least that long. I wonder why people keep copying it and passing it on; it's very poorly written.
