by outnfree inas mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.
we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).
surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!

they fear that she also has it in her stomach as well.

They are trying to get her to the OR tonight in order to operate on her right away. My heart is just wrenching right now for him( hubby) and his mom. My boys are also upset about it. We are going to head to North bay tonight to see her right away but I am dreading the long drive with the way the weather has been lately. He also has his grandfather lying in the hospital here with a failing kidney. ( he only has one). When is rains, how do you fit 12 under the umbrella?

The worst is over now brenda....Now, you can just mend your baby to good health...kiss and hug her to death...

What do you think of maybe starting a thread of question of the week?
Here is my idea.......
Everyone who is interested joins up on the thread and we all take a turn of running "question of the week" . Who's ever turn it is gets to run the question and has to turn over a small prize like Mike did...
I wonder if we could get enough interested in playing??? You could only answer the question if you were on the original list to ask a question and and send out a small prize...( just like Mikes small tube of smarties)
Just a thought......I also think it would be cool to have an oppurtunity to collect small things from all over the world....

can someone explain to me why a witness can't go and buy a lottery ticket for himself, but can keep a ticket they find on the ground or keep a ticket they receive as a gift from a worldly person.. that's the explaination the witnesses gave me when i joined many years ago.. if it's a sin to play lotto, why can they accept a ticket as a gift or keep one they could find?.

Morty: I dont really know exactly why it feels so good to skateboard. I think that its because, skateboarding lets you conentrate on the trick youre trying to make, so you forget all other problems except the one about landing the trick... maybe.
Keep on boarding my friend....If it makes you feel better, then by all means, worry about that trick your trying to land....That is what a 15 year old should be worried about....

like the street-skating, jumping down some stairs or hitting a rail... uhhh, is it only me that likes the feeling of rolling down a rail and crush your balls on it?
uhhhh no.....My boys have taken up that sport as well( for abour 3/4 years now).....We have regular check-ups at the doctors to make sure everything is in order......
Tell me something though, what is it about when you have dissagreements with your folks ( or anyone for that matter) that you feel the need for the wind in your hair?? I can tell you from experience that my kids feel so much better as well when something is bothering them and they take off for a while and just board for hours...
I think it is great that you have alot of support here....Its hard enough being a teeenager and then throwing in some hormons and religion, makes for a deadly mix...
I wish you peace, happiness, and support from your parents or someone close you can relate to...
