i just got done watching the first 2 hours.
so far the storyline has been good.
i think that if your a scifi fan you will love this show.
I dug Battlestar Metallica too...and Space: Above and Beyond...and all the Treks...and Firefly...
Space operas on TV are like soccer, Canadian beer and full-figured women...underappreciated by the masses.
it seems that some think that "happy holidays" is more politically correct than "merry christmas.
" they take offense to the word christ in christmas and want to replace it.
personally, i think we should keep the words.
I have a lot of Jewish, African-American, Pagan and Muslim pals...We liberally toss around our particular celebration along with the PC term...
In a public source, however, the neutral term should be used. Why shut someone out?
Gumby:
You both shoulda used protection, then...
what is the belief of jdubs about dinosaurs now?
my daughter came home the other night from her grandma(jw) saying that she wouldn't let her watch a show about dinosaurs on discovery channel because what they were showing is not true.
dinosaurs were not meat eaters.
Some fundamentalists claim that dinos were here until the flood...lol...and a few JW's (like my ex wife) bought that line, too, claiming the seven days = 7,000 years line.
I just used the reasoning of Clarence Darrow in Inherit the Wind.
if you could have anyone thing for christmas, what would it be.
it can be, an actual object, or sumthing you'd really like to happen.
but, what do you really want for christmas?
I wanna decide who lives and who dies...
(You're next)
if you was to put a christmas cd together to get you in the festive mood what songs would you put on it?.
chestnuts roasting on an open fire?
winterwonderland?....lol.
Even when I was an active dub, I made everybody in the car group hush when "2000 Miles" by The Pretenders came on. It still gets me...
so does "Brick" by Ben Folds Five (he mentions "day after Christmas")
one of the strangest things that i've seen with the "sheep" is how they would not do anything unless they heard from their elders.
especially was this so, during inclement weather.
if we were in the middle of a blizzard, we could not call off the meeting unless we heard it was confirmed by the presiding overseer, usually after he "discussed" it with some elders.
A Tornado WATCH? Those happen all the time from April to June in the Midwest.
That to me is a real sign that the org is folding from within.
Gore dropped Lieberman like a steaming load that he is...I just hope that Dean actually fights, the way Gore didn't. Clark and/or Dean...I like them both, even if the So-Called Liberal Media don't. I think Clark actually earning his military uniform in the jungles of Vietnam while Bush was AWOL from the national guard, banging hookers and snorting coke in Mexico, would make him more likely to beat Dubya.
If Karl Rove, er, uh, Bush picks Cheney as VP again, I'd pound away at the health issue.
this is my very first time celebrating christmas, and i am enjoying the season just as much as my children.
what i see is the joy of giving.
i know there are over-crowded malls, harried parents, worried people with not enough money for what they want, or no money at all.
Nice...this will be my first, too, with such sinful acts as...
>Attending the Office Christmas Party. (Why I'll not be at the Friday leg of the fest)
>Making out with a co-worker at the Office Christmas Party
>Participating in a Secret Santa at work.
>Giving a present to a few students.
>Watching the Sun Bowl in my boxers while eating fried chicken (I guess I did that as a witness, too)
