Thank you, Blondie! That’s a good observation: the WTS likes to flaunt their apparently exclusive position as being the sole object of Jesus’ mediatorship, BUT, however, when discussing (or debunking) the validity and appropriateness of venerating Jesus’ mother Mary, then the proper, Biblical understanding of Jesus being the “only one mediator between God and mankind” sort of slips out!

Who is the mediator for the R&F now?
by nonjwspouse inhas this been changed?
i thought this might need a new thread.. the memorials i have heard about multiple ones noted the prayer ending with something like "jesus our mediator".. sams on another thread :.
nonjwspouse: sahs, so has it now been stated that jesus is only the mediator for the fds, not all the anointed as was previously?.

“AnnOMaly”: “Consequently, 1 Timothy 2:5, 6 is not using “mediator” in the broad sense common in many languages. It is not saying that Jesus is a mediator between God and all mankind. Rather, it refers to Christ as legal Mediator (or, “attorney”) of the new covenant, this being the restricted way in which the Bible uses the term.”
Good catch, Ann! Thank you for your clarification. Isn’t it just like the GB of the WTS to almost gloat over how they force an interpretation of what they think the Bible is supposed to say, according to them.
That actually reinforces what I already thought. It’s just that the current “understanding” (opinion) of the WTS on this is so audacious and licentious that it’s sometimes still hard to actually believe that this is what they really print.
You can certainly see the evolution of their self-serving doctrines as they more and more point upward to the GB as being the pinnacle of the expression of Almighty God on earth. Being able to look at all of this from our aerial view perspective (i.e., out of that mangled forest), it’s easy to see the very human nature of that whole WT establishment – replete with all the self-centered character defects which go along with it.

THE GRAND APOSTATE "WALKOUT" - January 1, 2015
by RagingBull inafter knowing ttatt for many years now...i had made up my mind long ago that after 2014, i would no-longer subject myself to the boredom, pain, and frustration of following this cult...the wt...the borg.. so...i made up my mind that since the wtbts/gb makes such a big deal as to the "significance" of the year 1914 and this year 2014, there can be no greater time for me to leave it all behind.
i daydreamed of how awesome and telling it would be if everyone that could ( because i do know that some have personal circumstances of their own, as i did too) would just .... walkout...never to attend/step foot in a kingdom hall from that moment on.. independence day of sorts?
there is too much evidence, too many videos, blogs, books, news reports and lawsuits for me to keep lying to myself.

“Friday morning (October 2) [1914] we all were seated at the breakfast table when Russell came down. As he entered the room he hesitated a moment as was his custom and said cheerily, ‘Good morning all.’ But this morning, instead of proceeding to his seat as usual, he briskly clapped his hands and happily announced: ‘The Gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day.’ We all applauded.” – Faith on the March.
You know what would be really good is if we somehow coordinated a specific date, such as the nearest Sunday meeting after Thursday, January 1, 2015, which would be Sunday, January 4, 2015 (since everyone has that meeting on the same day), and also a specific time, such as immediately after the song which is at the beginning of that week’s Watchtower study (whatever time it’s held in each local congregation), at which precise time us folks on here who have been waiting for the opportune time to finally leave the WTS while making a public statement would all stand up and clap rhythmically in unison while walking out – for good! (I’m talking turbocharged fading, as in with the afterburners on full; or better yet, with the US Saturn V or Soviet N‑1 or Soyuz rocket engines at full thrust – I’m talking launch time to freedom! Yeah!!)
Let’s go out with a bit of a bang! After 100 years, I think we’re all due.

Thanks “AnnOMaly.” I guess I’ll have a better sleep tonight.
Can you imagine if Charles Taze Russell were alive right now? He would probably have quite a field day with this blood moon tetrad date series thing. Remember how excited and zany he got with the Egyptian pyramid thing?

“nonjwspouse”: “SAHS, so has it now been stated that Jesus is only the mediator for the FDS, not all the anointed as was previously?”
That’s a good question. You know, I’m not completely sure on that. It’s all so rather confusing (especially with all the twists and turns of it all). I know for sure that Jesus is the only mediator for the FDS, which is now solely the GB (no surprise there!). But as for the total number of the 144,000 anointed ones (including the FDS/GB), I guess their only mediator would be Jesus as well. (We could sure use Blondie’s input here!)
All I know is that us non-anointed common folk don’t get the Jesus mediator. (Maybe we aren’t Jewish enough or something. We’re certainly not important enough, in JW land anyhow.) But just who the regular non-anointed JWs’ mediator is supposed to be for those other sheep – either the 144,000 as a whole or just the FDS/GB – I’m really not sure at all. (Bloooondiiiiee, heeeeeelp! I’m confuuuuused.) I guess we’re really all just supposed to be a bunch of lost sheep – sheep without a proper mediator. (That’s if we were still in the JWs, of course.)

Jehovah's Witnesses Have No Problem With Lying!
by minimus inwitnesses brag that they are the most honest people in the world!.
but, they teach their followers that it's ok to lie if someone is not "entitled" to know the truth.. .

Actually, the only pertinent thing here is that the WTS’ claim of being the one-and-only true mouthpiece for Almighty God is . . . . you guessed it – a LIE! And, of course, if the WTS is really not ‘God’s only true mouthpiece’ (remember, it can’t be), . . . . THEN, without having that core lynchpin of exclusive intimacy with God and His divine authority (which, of course, they don’t), all the other lies (flip-flops/reversals – new light!) spawned from and hinged directly upon that core lynchpin are also all completely not true!
In other words, at the very top of the WTS’ “lie pyramid” is their claim of exclusive authority from God, . . . . and everything else in that pyramid from the top down is just a gigantic hierarchical sub-system of lies. Take away that master lie behind their “authority,” and it’s like knocking down the bottom row in a house of cards. (I.e., it’s basically lies all the way, folks!)

At “RagingBull”:
That sounds like a great idea, and with a most appropriate timing. After all, a whole century after the year 1914 – which was originally supposed to be the year when everything including Armageddon was supposed to have all been finished – is surely enough time for the supposedly one-and-only mouthpiece for Almighty God to get its sh^t together – you’d blood well think!
Wouldn’t it be really great if us “apostates” could get something together along that line among ourselves – i.e.: Have a predetermined and coordinated MASS EXODUS from the WTS on January 1, 2015! It would be quite the incentive for so many of us folks here who have been sitting on the fence for so long, paralyzed by fear and family pressure, to just take that exhilarating jump down off that stupid old fence onto the side of freedom!
NOTE TO EVERYONE: Let’s get something cooking up and make that idea a reality. Think of the huge impact that this would have on the JW community as a whole – and, as well, we could also have a coordinated press release to the general media in the days leading up to January 1, 2015 to ensure that it is a most public event indeed. We’ve got to come up with something like that as the impetus for all those who know what they really want to do – and really should and must do – to just go ahead and do it all together. Now that would be awesome!

I got just a wee bit of an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of my stomach at first when I went to Wikipedia under “Blood Moon Prophecy” and saw this photograph of the blood moon which took place on April 15, 2014:
I’ve actually been having some nightmares, even fairly recently, about the “celestial phenomenon” that the WTS came out with at one of the summer district conventions a few years ago (I believe it was sometime in the 90’s.)
Anybody else here experienced even just a tiny twinge of foreboding fear coming across this and triggering the memory of the WTS’ latest “understanding” (bet) of Jesus’ apocalyptic prophecy about the signs in the sun, moon, and stars and the “sign of the Son of Man”? I’m rather curious about that. Please, do tell.

“Laika”: “The chairman also offered his prayer through 'our mediator, Jesus Christ, amen'”
Actually, according to the WTS, Jesus is ONLY the mediator of the anointed 144,000 – but NOT the “other sheep” class! So technically, according to the WTS, the only mediator for all the non-anointed JWs would have to be the Faithful and Discreet Slave – which as we all know, from the fairly recent “new light,” is comprised of none other than . . . . that’s right, the Governing Body! (So that chairman must not have been keeping up with the current “understanding” in the Watchtower.)
When you think of it, since all the non-anointed remnant aren’t even allowed to partake of the bread and wine and apparently don’t even have Jesus as their mediator, . . . . why really would anybody bother showing up! What would be the point – unless you were a sucker for denigration!

In my comment during paragraph 12 at that April 13 th WT study, which talks about ‘the King riding in the cause of humility,’ I mentioned John 5:19 where Jesus said, “The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing.” I also read Hebrews 9:1, 10 (not mentioned in the WT study), which says: “. . . the former covenant used to have legal requirements for sacred service and its holy place . . . They were legal requirements concerning the body and were imposed until the appointed time to set things straight.” (I actually came across these scriptures by accident – it was a stroke of luck just at the right time.) I then said that when Jesus came, he fulfilled the essence of the old Law Covenant, which was love and mercy. I was hoping that everyone there would make some kind of mental connection between that and the arbitrary “legal requirements” and policies still being imposed by the GB, such as their policies regarding blood, shunning, holiday celebrations, etc. I’m not sure just how much of that connection was made by people in the audience, but maybe there was even on some minute subconscious level.
I always try to drop some little tidbit like that to make people think. (I guess I’m the subliminal black sheep of the congregation!)
