  12 Step

  hello everyone,.

  i've been attending sexaholics anonymous meetings for years now and it has kept me 'sober' when religion couldn't.

  currently active but fading.. anyone on here attend any type of 12 step meetings?.

  Actually, I have been in the 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous since the late ’80s. Although, unfortunately, I have been on and off, in and out quite a few times. I was born into a stongly-JW family in 1966, and I have had quite an onging struggle with the AA program. (Nothing like the JW outfit to mess someone up enough to make any kind of normalcy a struggle.)

  It’s kind of ironic that you have chosen the user name “lambsbottom” while trying to manage sexaholism – the idea of a lamb’s bottom just makes me somewhat horny. (As you can see, I also have some sexual “issues” myself , but I don’t bother with any 12-step program for that in particular. One 12-step support group is enough. After all, life has to have some kind of fun, before you’re done.)

  Pleading with my Captors

  i have always had bonkers dreams and i remember a lot of them, even some from my childhood.

  i have the common dreams of flying and being chased all the time.

  and i used to dream about demons but not for a very long time.. but heres the thing, i often dream that i've been captured and about to be tortured or murdered and the rest of my dream is about me negotiating my freedom and promising all sorts of things if they will only let me go free.

  I myself have had a reocurring dream about a large storm system slowly approaching from a distance. It certainly doesn’t take too much intelligence to realize that the approaching storm represents Armageddon – complete with dark clouds and multiple tornado funnels. (Those sketches in the big old orange-colored book “Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained” certainly had a large part to play in the psyches of many prepubescents.) Also, I have had many dreams about weird, uncanny “supernatural” things happening. In all these instances, I’ve always been really glad that it’s been only a dream. My, what fears are fostered by that Watchtower enterprise!

  Writing YA book about JWs...

  so i'm a amateur writer, though i lost my muse for the last story i was working on.

  but i had a good idea for a new young adult book that won't just be fun to read, it will help people learn ttatt.

  it would be about six or eight teenagers with jw parents, but they all lead double lives at school and away from the congregation.. i don't have many plot ideas yet though, so i'm trying to find someone to co write this with.

  Actually, “UFCFan,” there are plenty of actual, real-life stories of JW teenagers who have been forced to live a double life for quite some time. Now, if fiction is your thing, then by all means proceed along that route. I’m just saying that should you want to go from fiction to fact, there are numerous real-life experiences of such teen folk who have known all too well the ignominious situation of having to sit on that uncomfortable fence for family’s sake while indulging in as normal a life as they can get away with. I myself would tailor my book to more of what Terry Walstrom has done in his book, “I Wept By the Rivers of Babylon.” Take my advice: there’s nothing more compelling than actual personal accounts to captivate human interest.

  Birthdays

  i had my first real birthday party yesterday.

  call me an irredeemable pagan, but i was massively excited about this, the whole thing was very special, i got a little emotional and i think my friends must have found it a little strange but it was just nice to be creature worshipped.

  when i was a child my parents always used to tell people i didn't miss out by not celebrating my birthday but i did miss out.

  a secondary channel of business revenue for the wts - compensation for recommending restaurants, tours, etc.

  I wonder if the tour on something like this in New York includes the United Nations headquarters building, where they probably might see some sort of plaque saying something like “Watchtower was here!”

  Maybe see if you and Terry can get together on something like that. He specializes in different genres, but he certainly has a good flair for writing biographical as well as fictional and semi-fictional accounts, of course with a clever connection to TTATT.

  Is the GB against JWs having pets?

  does anyone know what was said at the recent ras about jws owning pets?

  was it discouraged strongly?

  hopefully jw pet owners will tell the organization to f-off!

  No pets, no sports, no dating, no marriage, no blood, no vaccines, . . . . nothing normal, especially if it could bring some joy.

  Apparently the biggest thing the GB is against people having is a brain (the thinking kind, anyway).

  watchtowers army assault on our vulnerable elderly in nursing homes

  its been a long time since i have been this enraged at the evilness and shameless exploitation by the jws.

  i just got back from the meeting (dont ask) and sat through the km article laying out plans to mass convert nursing homes all over the world.

  i am not going to labor the obvious ethical travesty of this plan but i will say that it constitutes a major public health risk.

Then you and I can discuss it together." It is often possible to arrange to conduct a personal Bible study with interested ones at another time and in a different setting.”

  This is obviously a policy to discourage any kind of consideration of any information or opinions outside of the Watchtower Organization’s own unique curriculum. Also, conducting Bible studies separately one-on-one in isolation from the rest is to prevent the subject (student) from being able to compare their reaction to some else’s. (It’s similar to when people in a group of suspects are separated when being interviewed by a police detective.) Nothing like personalized attention to effect the process of brainwashing (indoctrination).

  Actually, that’s a good question. The WTS is always gloating over how Jehovah is supposedly going to ‘bring to ruin those ruining the earth’ (Revelation 11:18) because humankind is so bad at managing the earth, but when you think of it they should at the same time be making some kind of tangible and noticeable efforts to do some in-house energy production and materials recycling.

  Installing some kind of solar system with an array of mirrors focused on a tower (like they already do in the south-western USA) to produce steam which could provide heating or even run a generator turbine, or even just using a significant amount of solar panels, would be a relatively simple and feasible endeavor when you consider that the WTS had been actually growing their own crops and raising/slaughtering/processing their own cattle on their kingdom farms. The Bethel facilities seem to be quite able to be “self-sustaining” with everything else, involving not just food production but also various kinds of electrical, mechanical, technological, aesthetic, and even medical services – so you would think that it would be relatively easy for them to manage some form of “renewable energy” onsite. . . . that is, if they really were interested in respecting the resources and cleanliness of the earth, rather than just continually preaching about it.

  But, alas, the WTS seems to care as much about protecting the environment as they do about protecting children!

  luke 21 is a difficult text to interpret.

  and jesus' failed prediction that the end would occur in the lifetime of those who heard him speak, makes the whole thing border on farce.. recall what he said:.

  30 when they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.. 31 even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of god is near.. 32 truly i tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.. 33 heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.. .

  Let’s see. What does it say at the very bottom of this Web page?

  “To ensure all users feel safe and keen to participate, please avoid: . . . Insulting, threatening or provoking language . . . using hate-speech or making obscene or vulgar comments” “. . . stay friendly and welcoming.”

  But I guess leopards (like your avatar) – as well as humans with similar or less I.Q.s – just can’t read.
