One Year Later - A Thank You to Tony Morris.
by cappytan indear anthony morris, iii:.
i wanted to send you a note of "thanks" on this special day.. why is this day special, you may ask?
one year ago today, you, tony, woke me up to the fact that the governing body could not have jehovah's blessing or direction.. last year, on november 8th & 9th, 2014, the united states branch visit was broadcast to over 1,000,000 jehovah's witnesses across the country.. as i sat at the kingdom hall listening to the "historic occasion," i was ignoring certain doubts that had surfaced in the few months prior.

Maybe my eyes aren’t working right, but those two photos of this Chris Pine fellow couldn’t be indicative of the tight pants which Anthony Morris III was talking about. They just couldn’t be. From what I remember about Morris’ stupid talk, I think that he must have been referring to some kind of exercise pants, like some sort of tight jogging pants or “yoga pants” – which would make more sense, because I couldn’t imagine anyone going out jogging in a suit such as Chris Pine was wearing in those photos. It doesn’t make sense to me, unless I’m really missing something or perhaps having a stroke.
Although, either way you look at it, even if Morris was referring to those form-fitting things people wear while jogging (yoga pants? sweat pants? I don’t do much jogging anymore), it sure is quite petty and pharisaical to focus on something so very trivial, especially during such a supposedly “important” talk. I think Jesus would have had some more intelligent, important things to say.

“WingCommander”: “"The beatings will continue until morale improves. Also, give us your money! All of it! We are God's Mouthpiece, do you hear us? We need money, ALL of it! Take Sophie's ice cream money, take Caleb's toy money, and shove it into the contribution box, NOW! All of it! Obey us, or DIE! And as always, Agape from your loving Shepherds, The Governing Body."”
Priceless! It’s funny how much the GB manipulates, castigates, and exploits the little underlings while wrapping it all up in the auspices of “agape love.”

“LisaRose”: “Truly happy people are not bothered by the possibility that some people might not agree with their life choices.”
Absolutely. JWs always have an inherited need for validation and vindication. They always have to be seen as right, special, and morally superior to the rest of the world. I’ve recently learned that this behaviour is really a form of codependency. They’re all really addicts of the magical WT opium.

Your parents should be in prison for treating you the way they did. It makes me mad how people can get away with that. -

How Much Does It Cost To Produce One Watchtower Magazine?
by The Governor inhello everyone i had a quick question to ask.
does anyone know how much it cost to produce a watchtower magazine?
also does anyone know how much each watchtower magazine is worth?

“hoser”: “The householder was in the printing business and looked the magazine over and said it would cost about 3 cents to make this.”
True. The WT now prints a 16-page Watchtower plus a 16-page Awake! on one single double-sided press sheet, which had used to include a 32-page magazine. So, basically, each of those press sheets – which now include a 16-page Watchtower plus a 16-page Awake!, are really just one big glorified flyer – which as we know cost basically nothing per unit.

The WTS is so unique in its stance of absolute exclusivity and shunning, but they readily scream persecution to any perceived challenge to their authoritarian precepts, including the contravention of the UN’s Charter, which guarantees a person’s right to change his/her religion without undue consequence. -

“Patrick45”: “Transport would be the highest cost factor.”
True. And don’t forget, those Bethel truck drivers work for free. So, even that isn’t relatively much of a cost to them. Just the fuel. And if by chance diesel fuel becomes prohibitively high, then they could just get their little product transported by bicycles pulling little trailers. After all, as they say in JW land: “If the organization [governing body] says ‘Jump!’ then we say, ‘how high?’”

Well, I have a little bit of experience with the printing industry. Don’t forget that a 32-page magazine is printed onto a single double-sided press sheet (which are each folded and cut to produce a complete magazine). Now, considering that a Watchtower plus an Awake! magazine, which are currently only 16 pages each, can both be printed on the same sized single press sheet, then those press sheets, each comprising two magazines (tractizines?), are really just one big flyer. The unit cost for flyers isn’t very significant, especially considering the volume mass produced by the Watch Tower – and, of course, considering that it’s a free labour, tax exempt enterprise.
So, basically, the Watch Tower organization is demanding millions of its followers to put themselves out going around aggressively peddling a bunch of glorified flyers, all of whom thinking of themselves as performing the most noble, philanthropic service of all time. Amazing what you can get people to do when you’re claiming to be the sole representative for Almighty God!

This case has really been a stark and disturbing eye-opener for me. All through my life I have been led to believe that everyone in our western democracy is “innocent until proven guilty.” But in just the last couple of years, hearing about people having all their cash stolen by the police – which is apparently perfectly legal now – just on the suspicion that it might, or could, be involved in some kind of criminal activity, but with absolutely no proof; and hearing about people getting their legitimate businesses shut down and accounts seized just because their deposits are suspiciously just under the $10,000 amount for mandatory reporting by the bank – again, with no proof whatsoever; and then hearing about cases like Richard Glossip, it seems to me that the “presumption of innocence” which has been so integral to our so-called democratic legal system is now just regarded as hooey and thrown right out the window.
What is happening to good old common-sense fairness and justice based on traditional “natural law”? It seems that now we basically don’t really have any rights at all anymore. The government doesn’t care anymore about justice and fairness – everything now is just all more and more arbitrary bureaucratic rules and restrictions, which much of the time don’t even make sense! Disturbing and scary!
