  Jehovah's Witnesses really are JERKS

  very early this morning i was driving to work.

  i live out in the country so usually it's rare to see anyone walking down the road esp.

  at 6:30 in the morning.

  I had an old friend tell me once, that they thought being a witness brought more out of someone, regardless of if that was good or bad. For example, those with mean, judgemental attitudes will become more so as a witness, and those with a kind attitude would become more so.

  That reminds me of what they say about alcohol. People who are gentle and quiet tend to be more so, those who are spontaneous ?lovers? will take advantage of a situation, those who are smart-alec clowns will be more irritating, and the type of people who are aggressive and obnoxious will often fly off the handle and victimize someone?like they are ?drunk? with courage and power.

  It?s similar to the JWs. Their petty, hierarchical religion with its Pharisaical mindset is just the thing to give impetus to those who seek to either dominate or to be led by the nose.

So how do you relate that to the former Soviet Union? I thought that was simply one of the manifestations of the King of the North.

  ive been threatening to move back to canada for years now.

  and i finally picked a date of next year with me and the (then) new wife.. however im getting a lot of talk from people who have been outtheir recently, and still live their that its very hard.

  ive seen houses for sale at about 60 percent of northern ireland prices and jobs seen available and pretty well paid.

  I?m not sure which teachings the WT might bring back, but I know which teaching they will NOT be bringing back: that the great tribulation has already started to occur.

  Can you imagine what would happen if they ever came out and said, ?We hereby declare that the cry of ?peace and security? has already happened to sufficient degree, and that now the great tribulation has, in fact, begun.? Well, if they ever came out with that again these days, then people would be expecting armageddon to begin, and finish, within a fairly narrow time span. No more of this, ?Well, we?ve gotta give it more time. We?ve been in the great tribulation for [10, 20, 50, 100+ ?] years now, so I?m sure armageddon will start soon.? No, sir. Years ago, they did say that the great tribulation had already started, but if they ever said it now, then people would expect armageddon to start fairly soon?or else, they would say, ?Okay, that?s enough!?

  If people have already been waiting 100 years for the great tribulation, surely nobody would wait another 100 years for armageddon!

  I personally don't put organizations on the same level as humans. That's a trick of the business world with their corporations. Organizations have no brains or heart.

  I?m so glad to hear you say this. Although I don?t agree with much of your perspectives, I agree with this specific quote of yours, and I think it?s important for people to be aware that the WTBTS Incorporated is exactly that?an inanimate organization. It is not a human, nor does it share the same emotional or rational qualities of most people.

  People should personally weigh the evidence?all the evidence?as to whether or not it may be ?God?s only true organization,? but nobody should idolize either the organization or any of its leaders because such idolatry would really be contraindicated in the Scriptures.

  I don?t mean any unwarranted disrespect for any people comprising the ?Society,? but at the same time, I really disdain the idea of people feeling compelled to pay a visit to the WT headquarters in New York like pilgrims flocking to a sort of holy ?Mecca,? being over-awed by the experience of seeing ?God?s temple,? and thrilled by the prospect of possibly seeing one of the actual FDS members in the flesh. Any such ?theocratic groupies? should step back and consider the whole picture . . . and not be so ?awed? at something which seems to have a propensity for being ?flawed.?

  Oh BTW, I apologize if I seemed to unfairly characterize you as a ?troll??at least in the complete sense of the term, anyway. Your contributions, albeit controversial, do add, um, ?colour? to the mix.
