  Non JW friends don't understand

  it never ceases to amaze me that your personal friends have no clue what it is like to have been one.

  i was speaking with a friend the other day about having been a jw.

  she said, oh i have a dear friend of 30 years who is one and she is so nice!

  Absolutely. It reminds me of something like, say, an addiction support group comprised of recovering alcoholics or something in that if you’re not one of them yourself, that you can’t really understand or appreciate exactly what it’s like or what they’ve gone through. But among recovering alcoholics or victims of some profoundly significant and disturbing experience (such as rape, losing a child, etc., etc.), they do get it – because they can.

  People who have never been in a high-control group/cult, or have never had a close family member who has, obviously can’t speak from experience, although unfortunately there are those who think that they know what it is, or isn’t, all about. But people on the outside have to be made aware of the unique challenges involved in having lived in a cult environment such as the JWs. It’s a case where a proper and telling explanation is definitely in order.

  Literature being discontinued, including Isaiah's Prophecy and Reasoning book

  congregations get an annual letter that tells what can be ordered for literature (it's mainly a list of audio cds/dvds for the deaf), but this time it included publications that will be discontinued, and this included the isaiah's prophecy book and the reasoning book, and i think i saw the draw close to jehovah book.

  i meant to take a picture of the letter but forgot.

  the branch is only going to give what they have on stock, when that stock depletes that's it, you won't be able to order those publications anymore.. this is in canada so i don't know if this is worldwide..

  Good catch! Don’t forget those detailed, comprehensive lists of changes to the Revelation Climax! book updating all those paragraphs to be updated. I guess the one-and-only representative/mouthpiece for the Almighty God failed to get any of that right.

  Well, I guess they forgot about letting your ‘yes mean yes and your no mean no.’ (Matt. 5:37)

  So, the one-and-only representative and mouthpiece of the Almighty God is not true to its word. Hmm. I wonder if they might not actually be who they claim to be. Hmmmm.

  Isn’t it, well, ironically funny that on the official Web site at “http://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/activities/publishing/global-printing/” under “Where Does the Money Come From?” it still states the following:

  “The August 1879 issue of Zion’s Watch Tower, now called The Watchtower, stated: “ ‘Zion’s Watch Tower’ has, we believe, JEHOVAH for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support.” We still feel the same way.”

  HOWEVER, as we all know, they’ve been regularly putting in their Watchtower magazine all the myriads of ways people can donate to their organization (wills, trusts, bank accounts, real estate, life insurance policies, jewellery, cheques, stocks, bonds, conditional-donation trust arrangements, gift annuities, etc., etc.) through their Charitable Planning Office, . . . . AND, now they have their own ATM debit/credit machines conveniently located at all their assembly halls, AND, there are several contribution boxes at every Kingdom Hall for this and that and the other thing, AND, they’ve even published a brochure in English and Spanish called “Charitable Planning to Benefit Kingdom Service Worldwide,” . . . . and not to mention all the tax-free assets, free labor, diversified investments and hedge funds using several sub-company entities, . . . . etc.

  Indeed, . . . . well, . . . . just saying, . . . . Isn’t it ironically “funny”!

  i say this because before the internet such educational truth had to be searched for in books and the authority of the author was often held with suspicion.

  so i think the important questions should now be:-.

  The Internet levels the playing field between those who are leaders at the top in cult organizations apparently “privileged” with their inner-circle secret knowledge and the rank-and-file from whom the guys at the top have tried their darnedest to keep such information secret. Yes, with the pervasive power of the Internet, the secretive and protected nature of such “hidden” knowledge has disappeared.

  So, the folks in the WT organization, from the lowly elders on up, can shred their internal documents and correspondence till their heart’s content, and it won’t really matter – because inevitably some of them will wise up and make such shredder food available for the whole world to see before it can ever be destroyed.

  All of these dark cultic organizations are liable and apt to be exposed for what they are – and all the quicker now with the great Google God. All such dishonest and oppressive cultic regimes have absolutely nowhere to hide, and they’re destined to their eventual and inescapable end – and Godspeed!

  Actually, I’m not really a “coward” so much as I choose to play it safe and cautious in order to not subject my longtime JW parents to any sadness, emotional pain, or shame. As much as I detest the JW cult for its dishonest and harmful policies and practices, I also know that my parents are very good, quality, and basically kind folks. The fence on which I must walk is more of a tightrope, but the real villain here is the WT cult organization, and I wouldn’t want my parents to suffer needlessly on account of it. Emotional blackmail, yes. It’s certainly a test of my unselfish compassion toward my mislead but very loving parents. (My sister and her family, and my aunts – well, that’s another story. We’re not exactly close, so to hell with ’em.)

  “The Marvster”: “One thing I love about the youtuber JwFairytale, is he actually makes videos, answering, or mocking these abusive people, or analyzing their ridiculous objections to his video content, hilarious to watch.”

  I just watched a couple of YouTube videos by this “JwfairyTale” guy for the first – and last – time. All I can say is, Wow! I don’t know quite what to make of that thing, but his videos could only do us “apostates” a disservice because any JWs could point to that and say, “Wow, look at those crazy apostates! They’re mentally diseased alright, and that one must obviously be demonized to boot,” and rightly so. Now, I wouldn’t be in a position to make any wager on the guy’s mental health, but I would say that a trip to a mental health doctor would definitely be in order. (And fast!)

  I’ve never had any threats from YouTube at all. But I’ve also never put anything on it at all either. So, I’m safe that way. But as soon as I’m able to make a break for it and physically leave JW land completely, then I will no doubt put some kind of item on it, and I will also use my full real name everywhere (including here). But, alas, in order for me to divulge that level of public exposure, I will unfortunately have to wait until my elderly long-time JW parents pass away – and it looks like that will take quite some time. But until that eventuality, it will be just baby steps for me. (Man, it’s tough being a people-pleasing double-lifer!)

  One Year Later - A Thank You to Tony Morris.

  i wanted to send you a note of "thanks" on this special day.. why is this day special, you may ask?

  one year ago today, you, tony, woke me up to the fact that the governing body could not have jehovah's blessing or direction.. last year, on november 8th & 9th, 2014, the united states branch visit was broadcast to over 1,000,000 jehovah's witnesses across the country.. as i sat at the kingdom hall listening to the "historic occasion," i was ignoring certain doubts that had surfaced in the few months prior.

  Maybe my eyes aren’t working right, but those two photos of this Chris Pine fellow couldn’t be indicative of the tight pants which Anthony Morris III was talking about. They just couldn’t be. From what I remember about Morris’ stupid talk, I think that he must have been referring to some kind of exercise pants, like some sort of tight jogging pants or “yoga pants” – which would make more sense, because I couldn’t imagine anyone going out jogging in a suit such as Chris Pine was wearing in those photos. It doesn’t make sense to me, unless I’m really missing something or perhaps having a stroke.

  Although, either way you look at it, even if Morris was referring to those form-fitting things people wear while jogging (yoga pants? sweat pants? I don’t do much jogging anymore), it sure is quite petty and pharisaical to focus on something so very trivial, especially during such a supposedly “important” talk. I think Jesus would have had some more intelligent, important things to say.
