Our bodies are awesome but there is absolutely no evidence of intelligent design, and tons of evidence of bad design.
And this is a great example of differing opinions on what constitutes evidence.
while i'm glad i found this site, it has also crumbled to bits everything i've believed in my whole life.
i feel like the certainty, magic and wonder has gone out of my life.
this has left a huge hole in my soul.

By the way, I really do appreciate your comments. I find them very insightful and poignant. And the name....GO ROCKY!
Thank you.
An evidence-based worldview is the only sensible option. It also opens up a whole universe full of mystery, wonder and awe.
Just leaving the cult will open up the whole universe full of mystery, wonder and awe. For a lot of us, viewing the vast complexity of our material universe, human beings, animals, plant life is evidence that there is much more to the story of existence than meets the eyes.
Last April, one of my grandson's 19 year old friends took his own life. Part of his suicide had to do with taking too much insulin. I was doing research about how insulin overdoses bring death. I came across a writing by By Dr. Howard Glicksman called Death by Insulin: How Sweet it Isn't!! http://www.arn.org/docs/glicksman/eyw_060601.htm
Our body's system to metabolize sugar and keep us living is vastly more complex than most people know. I recommend reading the series of articles that Dr. Glicksman has written called: Exercise Your Wonder. They are easy to read for the non medical doctor and will leave you in awe when you begin to understand how NOT simple, just the human body is. When you look at how complex and vital sugar metabolism is--your brain dies without sugar very quickly-- it will awe you. He has written numerous articles about our body systems and functions. You'll understand that there is plenty of evidence of design to our human body. What you do with the evidence will be very personal to you.

To go from faith to no faith is painful.
You don't have to go from faith to faith. You don't have to lose faith. Finding out that Jehovah is a false god and that the JWs are a cult, doesn't mean you necessarily lose all faith. True, some do lose all faith, for varied reasons, but so many of us don't. Especially is this true for those who were not born, nor raised in the JWs.

One of.the best things about discovering the truth about the WTBTS is that we don't have to have exact answers for every question. If someone tells you he/she has all of the answers, he/she is lying.

There should be a subject box and text box above the submit button. Are you trying to reply on your phone?

We should all be skeptics.
A dose of healthy skepticism is a good thing. When it is taken to extremes, not so much. Guard against being negatively affected by extremist thinking. You are leaving an extreme, be careful not to swing to other extremes. Be aware that some of the Watchtower extremes can be a challenge to shed. When it comes to your newly developing beliefs, the WT stance on things like science and religion can be hard to recognize in yourself.

Relax, enjoy your journey. Don't ever allow the sceptics to steal your hope.

Faith is your enemy.
This is extreme opinion.
Everything else is a self-indulgent delusion. "Choosing" your beliefs makes no sense.
Also extreme opinion.
Read, study, absorb information. Test the evidence.
Be aware that what is strong, very real evidence to you, might be scoffed at by others.

Believe what you choose to and remember that hope, faith and belief are not necessarily bad things.

Here's something to add a little magic back into your life. National Public Radio. This is a link to the station that I listen to:
http://streaming.michiganradio.org/
Right now Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion is playing. There are so many wonderful, wonder filled programs and news programs from around the world. When I am home on the weekends, I love their daytime programs. When I'm out driving and not in the mood for music, I listen to NPR on my car radio.
