  Whoa, what a tragic story. I guess you could call that a freak accident. I've never heard anything like that before. Interesting what you said about BB King and Jeff Beck (I saw him in 75 or 76) I have always said that Jimi Hendrix played the guitar like it was an extension of himself, like it was part of him.

  Andy and I just went to see Neil Young in September. The man is 57 years old but he played and had the energy of a man a third of his age. It was an awesome show. He is a legend as far as I am concerned.

  Hey, you can still listen to music and that's a wonderful thing. I never had any accidents that affected my guitar playing. I just am not good at it. I did get very sick and nearly die though. I have some amnesia from that and so I cannot remember much of what I learned in a year of lessons. My exhusband threw away my folder with all my lesson notes in it. So I can't relearn the songs. I was learning Yesterday by the Beatles when I stopped the lessons. I had learned I'd Love To Change The World by Ten Years After but can't remember how to play it now. *Sigh*.

  Most definitely you should play, even it's only for you. I took guitar lessons for a year in the 90s. At the time I was having panic attacks caused by my allergies. The only thing that helped me cope with them was practicing the things I had learned the week before. I am not good with the guitar much to my sadness but that's not what matters. What matters is whether or not you enjoy playing. I bet your family loves it when you play. Try an open mike night at a club near you sometime. Don't let your guitar gather dust. That would be a very sad matter indeed.

  I love music. I always have. Music means a great deal to me and I have it playing most of the time. I collect MP3s, CDs and records. Just bought myself a JVC turntable for my birthday.

  So the question is: do you love and need music in your life? What does it mean to you? Or are you a non music person who prefers life without it?

  Read the book Crisis Of Concience by Raymond Franz. It will help you to understand what really goes on with the governing body.

  The brothers tell you there is no place to go. They want you to believe that so you will be too scared to leave. There are plenty of places to go. You will find the one that is comfortable for you. There are thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, millions? who have left the Watchtower Org. Lot's of your brothers and sisters have the same doubts you do. Why don't you know about them? Because they are afraid of being disfellowshipped for voicing them just like you are.

  Just stay anonymous here for now. Ask questions. Learn. You have lots of fellow feeling here on the net. We ex JWs don't always have those still in the org. but we do have each other. We still have that common bond of once having been JWs.

  Also, there are others here who are just like you. Some of them are still going to meetings and in good standing. You have company in the boat.

  Your cartoon there isn't so far fetched. Something similar happened to me when I was chaperoning a couple of teenagers. I never dreamed they'd do that so boldly right behind my back. The sad thing is that they knew I was that gullable. And I might not know to this day if the young lady hadn't turned up pregnant.

  That is one groovy pope hat, dude. Did you ever see Terri Garr model the papal pantsuit on SNL back in the 70s when Father Guido Sarducci was going to start a new catholic religion where anyone can " be a pope uh."

  Dec 15th WT - Our Watchfulness Takes on Greater Urgency

  when i picked up this copy of the wt, i couldn't believe what i saw in the two study articles.

  the first one is entitled "our watchfulness takes on greater urgency" and the second article is "prove yourselves ready for jehovah's day".. i'm not going to go into these articles in depth, as that is blondies job!

  but i will elaborate on a few points.. before i begin, let's consider a recent comment at the annual general meeting by bro barr, a gb member to put things into perspective:.

  My sister, before she started shunning me last June, sent me part of a talk she heard at her district convention. The talk had the same sentiments as this study article. She had a quote like the one about JWs getting sidetracked with day to day life because the end is delayed. She thought it was a PROFOUND thought. I honestly think she thought it would shake me to reality. I'd look at it and say, "Good God, this talk is about me. I'm sidetracked just like the people in Noah's day. I think I need to scoot my backside back to those meetings immediately."

  See she thinks that is profound. I don't get it. Where is the profundity there? I think it's just the same old scare tactics they have been using all along to keep people inside the org. I do bet though, if they read apostate sites at all that they are pretty worried about the faithful. They need to pay heed to what made us all unhappy enough to leave in the first place.
