the other day dad was telling me about how the wts used to say that the personality was in the blood.
today mom brought home the latest magazines (didn't look at the date) and in the "in our next issue" box there is an article asking if our blood type determines our personality.
maybe they're going to revisit the issue, i understand they never retracted their previous view on the subject.
I'm not sure JWs are the only ones who believe this theory. I had a transfusion when I was 14 and my personality definitely changed. Was it the transfusion or was it something else including being a teenager with an emerging sense of my own opinions, etc? It's an interesting topic. I'd like to know if there is research in science about this. Like you quoted though, JWs thought everyone's blood unique.

I like people who put intelligent, non judgmental thought into their views.
I am drawn to people who are intense and are passionate about their likes, dislikes and views. I am drawn to people who care on a very deep level.
I am drawn to people who fight the human tendancy to being judgmental.
I like people who have a good sense of humor. I tend to like people who love good music.
I like people who have a basic sweetness and goodness about them but have enough flaws to make them interesting.
I like people who are down to earth.
I like people with big hearts who try very hard to love everyone here on this blue/green earth.

If God intends to burn people forever in hell then perhaps Satan is God afterall and evil will triumph over good.
I never believed in hell before I was a JW and I don't believe in hell now. If God is going to punish us by eternal death or burning us forever in hell then I say he does not love us and he is not worth serving.
Some of us get put here on earth with crappy genes & crappy parents. Some are born into horrid countries and cultures and some into poverty. Then we have every kind of religious belief thrown at us and sometimes shoved down our throats. But we are supposed to know which one is the "truth" and accept it to get life beyond this one.
Give me a break. My creator is much more loving and understanding than the JW god or the hellfire god. Besides, Jesus asked that his own murderers be forgiven. They didn't ask to be forgiven. He asked. He knew they were acting out of ignorance. Now that is love.
I agree: hellfire or eternal death, they are both manmade ideas designed to control you. Controlling you with fear is more economical than replacing you with a compliant robot. It's also cheaper than warehousing you in a prison. It's easier and less taxing than physically forcing you to comply. Hellfire is just an economical and efficient way of controlling people.
Torturing any living thing is not loving and you have to twist your mind to believe that it is.

Lawrence Welk: Southwest Michigan is like a big Lawrence Welk Show. Even the punk rockers here are squeaky clean, polite and mannerly.
I always thought it was sweet the way Lawrence would dance with all of the elderly ladies. The world has really changed since then. At the time the show didn't stick out the way it does now.
Terri, loved your walk down memory lane. Did you have roller skates with a key and Archie and Milli the Model comic books? For 28 cents you could buy a candy bar, a coke and a comic book. Add ten cents and tax and you could have a decent sized bag of potato chips. And if you were really, really rich you could add another 68 cents and buy a 45 like say: Dizzy by Tommy Roe or Build Me Up Buttercup by the Foundations. Remember when it was a thrill to find a quarter lying around. Oh the things you could buy with a quarter. Our school lunches only cost us a dime.

Yes, the other kid and his parents really cleaned up. They got $18,000.000 or more. A lot of innocent people settle because they cannot take the trauma of being put through a civil suit. You need much less proof to win a civil suit. So the innocent person has more of a chance of losing a civil suit than a criminal trial.
I think Michael is guilty of poor judgment no matter how well meaning he is. I think he probably didn't commit the crime he is presently being accused of. After what he went though with the last charge I don't believe he would be that stupid.

i recently decided that i've dragged my ass long enough, and today i told my wife i would be moving out.
I went through the same thing, Walter. I'm a lot happier now. By the time it all ended we didn't even ride in the same car together anymore. He still believes it's the truth. He was raised in it. Funny how things work out: he's the one who is alone and miserable and I am the one happy and content. I wish him all the happiness he can find in his inactive JW world. I mean that sincerely.

i just finished my first exam this round of midterms: evidence.
all i can say is i am glad that it's only 25% of my course grade....1 down, 2 to go.

I found my avatar on line somewhere and copied it to my graphics and background file. I titled it, "Me after work." But it's also the opposite of going door to door. Sitting at home, taking it easy with my feet up in my cozy livingroom.
It also makes me think of the song Taxi by Harry Chapin:
