Did You Ever REALLY Love Jehovah?

witnesses are taught that they must love their neighbor and jehovah god.

when persons fade away or leave abruptly or get disfellowshipped, you often hear this statement:"well, they obviously never really loved jehovah anyway"........looking back, can you say that at one time you really did love jehovah?

Jesus I can understand, he lived on the earth once as a human being. He had eyes, ears, a mouth, arms, hands, etc. He ate, slept, walked, cried. He talked directly to people and demonstrated his love in person.

Jehovah? He had or did none of those. He had a spiritual body afterall. He was a reservoir of dynamic energy and he was always perched, ready to judge and murder those who did not love him. How can you force someone to love anyone? You either love them or you don't. Or they do so many loving and wonderful things that you grow to care about them on some level and perhaps even love them on some level.

I tried to love him but he remained a vague entity to me. He never seemed like a real person. Just some big bunch of energy that was going to kill billions of people to prove he was lovable.

I loved God before I learned the "truth". Jehovah's Witnesses robbed me of the God I knew and replaced him with a petty, murderous imposter. How do you love a petty murderous imposter?

i can't stand it when people do not pronounce their ings and instead finish those words with in'.

No matter how articulate and well educated you are, if you are from the South, you are probably going to drop your g's a good bit of the time. I do. Not on purpose, but I do. I'd probably irritate the heck out of you, Minimus. It wouldn't be intentional though. I sound like I come from the South. I'm not ashamed.

Pettiness. Cattiness. I don't like cattiness in men or women.

when i read wt literature, i constantly find myself astounded by how transparently cultish the language is.

I have a wonderful relationship now with a "worldly" man. Life is much better.

I figured comments were tongue in cheek. I saw your smilie. I just wanted to give you and other non Amercians some insight into the reality some of us Americans live and how we feel about material wants and needs.

It really was mating season, and competition was FIERCE.

Wow, why did I not ever notice this? 80s dresses were so crazy weren't they? We had a sis at our hall who was full figured. She dressed like Madonna with the mesh fingerless gloves and "slouch" socks and little high heel lace up boots.She came to every meeting in some crazy outfit. I used to be judgmental about it. Shame on me. She was the nicest girl. She dated lots of brothers not settling to simply be married. She waited for the right one. Now I look back on this and I think it was great that she rebelled and dressed as she wanted to.

I was divorced from my first husband at 20. I was then single for about three years. I never entertained the idea that brothers would be interested in me. I was told that most of them were looking for elder's daughters who were also virgins and they had to be tall with tiny waists and big knockers. I just wore my modest sister garb and minded my own business, raising my daughter. I never tried to dress to impress. Sadly I did marry a brother who was misogynistic.We spent 18 years making each other miserable. Thank goodness we are divorced now.

Anyone here ever been homeless?

i am curious, our family was homeless on and off for several years.

i am trying to communicate to my little brother that growing up this way does not preclude one from a normal life.

is anyone willing to share a story that i can pass on to him??

Xandria brought up an important point. It's very normal to be scared and depressed about the step into adulthood that you make at the age of 18. This is true even for kids who always had a home and must leave for college or if they're just deciding what to do with their lives if they aren't going to college. It's scary when you realize you aren't considered a child anymore and people are going to expect YOU to take care of you from now on. It's especially scary if you don't feel you are prepared yet to take care of yourself.

Jet just returns all the love I show towards her and treats me like like I'm the most special person in the world. After what I've been through all these years it's so damn refreshing.

News Flash: She's doing this because she is a good person and not because she is Phillipine.

Philippine women are just raised to respect their husbands and to provide a loving household. What I have found in my new wife is someone that will cater to my needs and wants and in return I will do likewise for her. Those might be fightin' words but I will live happily ever after with them.

You know, you were raised as a JW. And this is why you remind me of my exhusband. Most JWs do not raise their sons to respect women and provide loving households for them. They raise them to treat women as children servants. They raise these men to feel they should be catered to and waited on and worshipped simply because they are men. You reflect these anitquated JW views in your post.

I never take someone seriously who comes out of a divorce whining that they are innocent and their ex is the big sinner. We all make mistakes in marriage. I made them and the only thing I will say about my exhusband is that he needs to update his view of women and learn to see them as adult human beings with feelings, intelligence, good ideas and opinions. He needs to quit seeing them as competitors and look at them as equals. Other than that, I will not criticize him because we both committed our blunders.

PS....Today we, my fiance and I, did laundry together. I prepared lunch for him. He worked tonight and then came home and prepared supper for us. We take care of each other that way. And he STILL holds my hand affectionately as if we just met.

I was a "bitchy American wife" when I had an exhusband very similar to you. Now that I have a man who treats me like a human being instead of a baby servant, I am very happy. And he would never describe me as bitchy. Why? Because we treat each other very well and respect each other. He was raised Catholic by the way. He is not a Catholic now and he says he does not call himself an exCatholic because he was forced to be one in the first place.

Shame on your for bragging about your baby bride and then putting up a picture of another woman and telling us she is the most beautiful woman you have ever seen.

A lot of those foreign brides come here dreaming of a better life with an American husband only to find they have bought into subserviency and often emotional and physical abuse.Some of them have even been murdered. Saw a show about it. No matter what your wife looks like, to you she should be the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. You are what my fiance calls a Misogynist. I didn't even know the word until he pointed out men like you and told me what that meant.

Shame on you. I pity your "baby".
