  I was looking at pictures of Errol Flynn today. I've always thought that Kevin Kline favors him. I guess they tried to make a movie about Errol's life with Kevin playing Errol. I'm not sure if it was ever finished. I thought of you and your avatar.

  I know that pure breeds have predictable behavior traits. Mixed breeds, you never know what you're going to get. I have seen people do some pretty unsanitary things. My sister used to let her dog drink out her glass. I don't think naked dog or cat butts belong on human furniture, tables or counter tops. I remember an episode of the show Sex and the City. Charlotte got married and her husband was running around nude and sat on her white sofa. It clearly upset her. Who wants a sofa or bed that smells like people, doggy or kitty bottoms?

  So if this happened, how do you think most Jehovah’s Witnesses would react, seeing that this, one of their premier doctrines, was false? How would you react? Would most Jehovah’s Witnesses despair or would they continue to maintain their beliefs in the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society?

  Honestly, from what I've read, including books about near death experiences and death bed visions by Melvin Morse MD, an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, JWs are just going to be happy. After you die, there's no wondering. I highly recommend reading Melvin Morse's books. He was once a huge skeptic about NDEs, believing the same kind of things that JWs teach about NDEs. I've read some other interesting books on the subject.

  TX- wonders why the rest of America views it as a substate where craziness reigns?

  We know that ultra conservative politics causes a lot of trouble for many Texans. If you've lived there, and especially if you have friends there, you know that it's a loud mouthed minority that gets the press. There are plenty of great things about Texas and Texans.

  I live in Michigan, a very conservative part of Michigan: it's not much better here. In Michigan when it comes to the law of consent, there is no similar age clause. If you have a couple who've been dating since they were 14. They both are 15 and one turns 16, the parents of the 15 year old can press statutory rape charges against the 16 year old. Their is no excuse for the circumstances. The 16 year old will carry sex offender status for the rest of his/her life. Fifteen year olds are considered to breaking the law of consent as well. So if you have two fifteen year olds, they are not exempt from the law of consent. These laws should protect kids from older kids, from rape and from adults. They should not punish teenagers in love relationships for having consentual, premarital sex. Michigan is a long way from Texas.

  Adam, neither of these addresses a pregnant woman. The doctors in Texas knew the mother was brain dead.

  Obama actually does give out free phones. I've met people who have them. Of course, they also have their iPhones, for when the Obama phone runs out of airtime.

  In the Grand Rapids area, we have professional panhandler teams that hit the affluent suburbs and bank on the naiveteof the suburbanites. A local police dept did an investigation and found out the people were neither homeless, nor destitute. They were making hundreds per day.

  The missions here suggest pointing them towards places like Salvation Army, etc. I will give food, but not money. We've learned not to put food in their hands either. Offer food, but don't push it on a person. I have a friend who went and got hot food for a panhandler, who turned and threw it in the trash. I've seen panhandlers with street signs within 100 feet of workers with signs for gold buyers or pizza deals. If they are homeless and hungry, there are places who can help them better than your spare change. MOst of them just want money for alcohol or drugs.
