  i have always been attracted to very confident and self-assured women.

  Speaking of new wave girls of the 80s. Here is Belinda Carlisle right after she went solo. Your girl reminds me a bit of Belinda in her Go Gos days.

  The guy in the video is Belinda's real life husband Morgan Mason, the son of James Mason the actor. You can see and feel their confidence and loving adoration for each other. Belinda said she hated being the front person for the Go Go's. She had never had a problem with her plumpness in the early days of the Go Go's, but the press had a field day with it. She grew very tired of hearing about it. Then she went solo and the record company insisted she lose some weight. She said cocaine helped her in that she didn't feel hungry when she did it. But I digress: watch this video. The comments about Belinda by men, young and old are the most flattering on youtube, if you don't count the ones dissing her for her drug use, which is something the majority of musicians and singers were doing at the time.

  Ladies be confident. Rock what ya got. Be yourself and love yourself.

  Confidence is attractive: period, in either gender. As long as it isn't false confidence, as in someone has a grandiose, egotistical idea of him or herself.

  If you don't like being a Jehovah's Witness then leave....

  if you don't like being a jehovah's witness or going to the kingdom hall or the society then leave.... it's as simple as that... .

  i left several years ago and have not been hounded, bothered or sought out by anyone.

  i still see them from time to time, and yes, they do pour out the love bomb when you run into them, but eh, you know what?

  Westi, try to collect all the positive memories and experiences and concentrate on them. Did you do things like go camping, to the movies, vacations, etc? Did you read to them, sing to them? Did you do fun things with them? Did you help with school projects? We helped my daughter with a science project that got her a trip to the Nasa Space Center in Huntsville, AL. I helped her with a poster that got first place. I helped her with an art project that got first place. We had "Girl's Night Out" each week. My son and I took long drives, listened to music and took in historical sites like the Etowah Indian mounds and Civil War cemeteries and battle fields. We did a lot of normal, fun things. They never have complained about being taken to meetings. They do complain about a few things, but that has lessened considerably over the years. Regret might be less heavy to carry than guilt.

  i left several years ago and have not been hounded, bothered or sought out by anyone.

  we are all different.

  It's easy, but there are consequences for a sudden break with the JWs. OUr congo was already treating us differently though, before we left. The shunning from family came many, many years later.

  Westie, just love them and be there for them when they want to talk or vent about it. YOu did what you felt was right at the time and surely you did fun things with them and gave them good memories. My daughter has fond memories of some experiences she had like older sisters who loved her, get togethers, friends, the motels at the conventions, etc. She remembers the weddings and going to spend time with other JW kids and their families, etc.

  My son told me recently that he appreciates the solid sense of what was right and wrong we raised him with. He doesn't mean silly JW right and wrongs, but the things like stealing. We didn't cuss like sailors like some parents do. He viewed us having respect for others, etc. and we always put family and our children first.
