Here's something to add a little magic back into your life. National Public Radio. This is a link to the station that I listen to:
http://streaming.michiganradio.org/
Right now Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion is playing. There are so many wonderful, wonder filled programs and news programs from around the world. When I am home on the weekends, I love their daytime programs. When I'm out driving and not in the mood for music, I listen to NPR on my car radio.

You are like the fly that has lived in the vinegar jar and thought it was the sweetest place ever because you'd never tasted honey. Get out there and taste the honey!
I love this.
I really recommend that you read Steve Hassan's 3 books dealing with how organizations such as Jehovah's Witnesses use mind control to capture us and make us have low self esteem so we feel there is no hope in anything else BUT the organization. It's a psychological thing in which we re-train our minds to feel GOOD about ourselves asbwe have been so beaten down by the JW organization.
Good recommendation, Flipper.

FHN - In what way do you think the superstitious, esoteric ramblings of gnostics add any clarity to life in the 21st century?
I'm not interested ramblings, but found this ex jw's writings about the gnostic view of Jehovah to be quite an eye opener. I don't adopt their belief that Jehovah is an undergod. I do find it interesting what they believed about him. The thing is, the book is only a commentary on what they believed and how it helped this former brother, Cofty. If you haven't read the book, then you can hardly comment on the book.
Purrpurr, I hope your thread doesn't become hijacked.

This book is written by an ex JW and also an easy, informative read. I recommend it to all exiting JWs. It's encouraging and shows what the early, Gnostic Christians believed about Jehovah, that he was an undergod, responsible the suffering here on Earth.

For me, the WTBTS robbed me of the magic and wonder of life. They reduced this universe and our earth down to nearly nothing. You'll find a lot of atheists on this site. I am not one of them. They say they are happy with no belief in God or god(s). Then there are those of us who have never lost our belief that there is some kind of god.
I was a Universalist, even as a small child. I was raised in the Episcopal Church. Unfortunately, JWs commandeered my life and brainwashed me for a a few years. They robbed me of my joy and sensibility. Now, my sensibility has returned and I am a universalist, once again. There are universalists in nearly every faith.
This is an easy read, that you could benefit from reading. It is written by a former hell fire and damnation preacher, who began to realize how ludicrous it was for God to be so exclusive and murderous. I'm not telling you to read it to adopt his views. I am suggesting you read it to find gentler alternatives to the WT doctrines to have as a comparison and contrast. The book is uplifting and shoots holes in the claim that the God is about destroying or torturing any of his creatures.

This car will last fore more than 70,000 miles. I hear from some that if it's taken care of, it can last well over 200,000 miles. It took me 10 years to drive my last car 70,000 miles. I took some very long road trips in it and it still tooke me that long to drive 70,000.
There are a lot of reasons I finally chose the G6. MPG. I work with the New York Yankee pitcher Matt Thornton's mom. She told me today that her husband drives a G6 and loves it.
