Did You Ever Think That The Demons Were After You?

i know so many jws that love to think satan and his demons are after them.

if they were being "persecuted", it was because of the devil and his demons.

if they got an ache or pain, it was because satan was trying to "discourage" them.......did you think the demons were trying to get you, too?

Yes I did. My grandmom told me I had the "gift" and could see family members. My mom told me it was demons trying to trick me. I don't know. I still see things, and feel things. Could be my imagination,but sometimes I think it is really cool when my dreams come true.

We love Xbox in this house. I have to say, I love Halo the best. I also like desert storm back to bagdad, and true crime streets of LA. On my puter I love Myst and exile.

Kids and meetings

i remember when they would discourage kids from taking colors or coloring books to the meetings.

so i thought ok, i will give my kid a pen and my book of bible stories to keep him busy.

then they said that was a bad idea because he might write on the furniture and it wasnt good to teach them to write on the wbt publications.

I used to give the kids a chart with words on it. Like Jesus, God, Jehovah, Love, etc. Each time they heard the word, they put a mark on the page, Who ever got the closest won. I also gave out candy for giving comments, sitting still, ect. They had to wait until the meeting was over to get it. I had the oldest 4 boys sit infront of me so I could tap them on the shoulder to be quiet,(ok, a pointy toe kick in the butt sometimes.) and my daughter and youngest sat beside me. I took crackers and the like and half way thru, I would leave my daughter with my mom and take Jonny in the nursury for snacks. In the old hall, it was b school for snacks. I was told my kids would never stay in the truth if I kept excusing them from sitting there. Guess they were right.

Watchtower study today at meeting

well, looks like they do have a new date for the conclusion of the end, and that we should "be prepared".

even some people that commented said that 90 years of the 120 years have passed by and we should be prepared for the time at hand.

2034 people, 2034.... i've had enough, i'm talkign to the elder about this one, i don't care if i get labelled or not.

My Mom came home from the meeting today telling me how good the watchtower study was. I asked her, "did you see the part about 120 years?" She told me "yes I did, and even though they did not come out and say it, 2034 is the end. I just know it is."

I want to cry. No really I want to shake her and say use your head woman!!! I know either one wont do any good.

If You DO GO to Meetings, You Might Die!

the watchtower ( and recent kingdom ministry) love to threaten death.

if you don't attend meetings.. however, i have known about a number of witnesses who died while at the meetings.

or attending the assemblies.

. I wouldn't be surprized if anyone reported a death or two
from attending Vets Stadium in Philadelphia, for example!

For anyone who has ever been at Vets Stadium, it is so understandable. I think the feild temp. was at 120.We used to sit by third base, and boy did we wind up inside walking around every year because it was way too hot.

Thanks for the ideas. I also want to thank you for not laughing. Hard to admit you don't have any friends and you feel like you are failing your kids. (feel really exposed now) You all have given me really good advice. Now I will step away. I know I brought this thread down quickly.

I would like to see what other chapters you have in this book.

Ok, I am going out on a limb here. Kinda of emotional streaking if you will. How do you get social skills? One of the posters offered a website, chat room for children, but my guys just don't feel comfortable yet. I know they are lonely. I know I am. My daughter is 6, and she cries because she has no friends. Sometimes I want to go back just so she wont be lonely. I wont, but I need to teach them and my self how to be social. In all seriousness, can someone point me in the right direction. I would greatly appreciate this.

Mean things that Elders have done

it was during the drought when alberta and sask were in bad shape for hay.my husband was promised 100 bales (this was before the drought).when my husband was ready for the hay the elder said he couldnt have any ,in the field there were trucks picking up hay which he sold for double the price.so here we were with no promised hay to feed 32 horses.does anyone else have a story?

I remember in '93 when my daughter passed away. I went and stayed with my sister for two weeks. To say I lost my mind is an understatement. I had two little boys to care for, and I was in no shape. When I came home after two weeks, I was told that the congregation wanted to help me. Since I ran away to deal with it, they would not help me. Not one came to my house for the week after she died. I felt like I was all alone. So I did what was best for my family. Yea, I got over it in less than a month. I did not have a strong faith. Grief is a form of selfishness. Why did it take me another 10 yrs to get out? I just don't know.
