I see there's talk of the UK government providing free e-cigarettes to hardened smokers in order to get them away from their ciggies. And of course, everyone says how harmless e-cigarettes are - just like they said about ordinary cigarettes not so long ago. Not that there's none so pure as the purified..

This is going to sound really weird, but back in the 50's there was a belief among many in witness-land that same-sex sex didn't count as fornication and therefore was not a disfellowshipping offence. It was ranked alongside masturbation. My guess is that messrs Greenlees and Chitty were of this opinion. It wasn't until our CO came visiting and was informed that a number of young ladies in our congo were into lesbian stuff ( someone had grassed) that the shit hit the fan. The next DA featured lots of talks on what was OK and what wasn't. Most stuff wasn't OK.
