Nothing as amusing as a bit of heated xenophobia. A case in point:Xenophobe: "I hate America and I hate all Americans!"Me (fully aware of what I'm doing): "Really? Were the Americans horrible to you when you were over there?"Xenophobe: "I've never been bloody over there and I'm not going either. I hate them all!"Me: *chortle*Later..Me: "Have some prawn cocktail, Molly".Molly. "No thank you, I don't like prawns".Me: "Oh, OK, how did you have them when you first ate them?"Molly. "I've never eaten them, not ever. I don't like them!"Me: "Righto!" -

J W Survey Article : Upcoming Assembly Encourages J W Youth to Lie About Homosexuality
by BluesBrother in..........however, it seems that this practice [theocratic warfare] is seeping more and more into regular witness life.
in fact, one speech outline for the upcoming 2017 circuit assembly appears to directly encourage witnesses to lie to the general public about watchtower’s teachings on homosexuality............. http://jwsurvey.org/mind-control/upcoming-2017-jw-assembly-encourages-witness-youths-to-lie-about-homosexuality.
nb this is a month old.. if it has been previously posted and i missed it, sorry .

Watchtower: The Bible thus makes a distinction between inclinations and practices. (Romans 7:16-25) A person who has homosexual leanings can control what he allows his mind to dwell on, just as he would control any other wrong desire, including leanings toward anger, adultery, and greed.—1 Corinthians 9:27; 2 Peter 2:14, 15.
But what about naughty dreams? Whatever your sexual inclinations, naughty dreams can make a person as randy as hell!

Why Is it the Girls who Hang in There?
by snugglebunny inhaving seen many, many people leave the org over the years, i have to say that, when it comes to married couples, it's almost always the man who makes the first move to leave.
conversely, when it comes to being converted into the witnesses, more often than not it's the wife who joins up first.
although that wasn't the case with my own parents, my father became converted and my mother followed very reluctantly..

Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?
by Half banana ini remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.

It's OK to laugh at the Bible but not at the org.
Remember Sisera who was killed by Jael, who hammered a tent peg into his head? Dubbies always laughed at the story of "Jael with the nail".

I tend to be quite open about my experiences within the dub religion. I've been out for a long, long time. I'm now in my eighth decade. Sometimes, if I get into it on-line with a still-in witness, I get mocked for still having plenty to say about being brought up as witness because it was so long ago. Apparently, for some, there's a time limit on the validity of my experiences. I really should have moved on!
As for the hoary head, well Proverbs 16. 31 says: "The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness"
Well, I'm no saint. And I do drink too much. But I'm not a bad father or grandfather. And my missus thinks I'm OK. So I'll settle for that.

REAL Community service now allowed?
by ab.ortega inat watchtowers website there is an undated article under "helping the community" relating how in 2015, jw's from russia participated in the 'springtime beautification of the city'.
it is not stated but more than likely this had to do with preparations for some assembly or something.
a group of witness going out to clean the community just for goodwill - i don't see it happening.

Sychelles Island crash proved you can't land a plane on water!
by Witness 007 ini was an advocate of the idea that a sea landing is beyond impossible for any pilot.
some years ago terrorists hijack a plane in africa and demand to be flown to australia.
the pilot runs out of fuel at the sychelles islands and ditches in the sea with most passengers dead or drowned.

It was never, ever, a warning work, was it?
by jambon1 inmost witnesses i knew were exteeemly reluctant to go out in the ministry.
but when they did, they were simply scraping by, eager to avoid conflict and just do their hour or so speaking to lonely old ladies or widowed old men.
placing magazines in a car group, doing route calls, plodding along in the utter boredom of their responsibility to get some time on a report by the last day of the month.. this was never a warning work.

It was certainly a warning work in the build up to 1975. The old adage re the burning house was used over and over when people objected to the frequency of witnesses calls.
