Watched Paddington 2 last weekend. Is Phoenix Buchanan really Lloyd in disguise? There seem to be similarities..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUmkq0yBAqU

Lloyd’s new book
by jwfacts ini see there has already been discussion over lloyd’s new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
this includes discussion around his personality, motives and financial gains.
i have written a foreword for this book, because it is an important topic that has not been covered in such a complete format before.

Anybody here like to dabble on the roulette wheel ?
by smiddy3 ini came to the conclusion a long time ago that many jehovah`s witnesses are very superstitious in my opinion.. if after leaving the jw`s or even sometime before leaving the jw`s you may have been tempted to use the pokie`s /slots or the lotto , or even the roulette wheel at a casino .
now did you know that if you add up all the numbers on a roulette wheel it adds up to 666 .?.
now i have no problem myself playing lotto ,keno ,scratchies ,etc, however ,would i ever play the roulette wheel ever again ?.

Met my missus in a casino while I was playing roulette. I've got a pic somewhere. She was a trolly dolly..

Lloyd Evans' New Book - Is It Really Necessary?
by pale.emperor inso lloyd evans will shortly be releasing his new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
i do enjoy his rebuttals and the stuff he manages to get hold of and leak.
but i'm struggling to understand what he could possibly write to merit a whole book.. all info on how to leave is right here on this forum.

Some folk climb aboard a scene and want to take over as leader. I've seen it quite a few times. Generally it's more to do with ego than anything else.

Lost my virginity a week before first public talk
by ElderEtta ini had just turned 18 and was a young mover in our congregation, vac pioneering on summer vacation, instruction talks in the km school and at local circuit assembly, plans to serve where the need was greater in a different state.
i was also engaged to be married in the following spring to a girl in that distant state.. this was november and i had just registered for the draft having turned 18. my parents said i could make my move after registering.
i saw the stack of handbill invitations to my very first public talk although i can't remember its title.

After being out for 40+ years allow me to assist in how to leave.
1. Make sure that you really don't believe in it any more. That is the key.
2. Accept the fact that no matter what you say or write to friends or elders, the impression that you will make on still-ins is absolutely zero. So don't bother to explain, they'll make even more mileage out of that than if you just walk. You say it best when you say nothing at all.
3. Accept that you will lose friends and possibly loved ones too. You will, without doubt. Accept it, or don't do it.
4. Fill your spare time with good stuff. Most of your non-working hours will have been spent on witnessy things. You'll have a big hole to fill.
5. Recognise the fact that you, as a human, are a social creature and that you need people. So get a social scene organised anyway that you can. College, sports, hobbies, whatever.
6. Don't look for an alternative religion. It'll just be another belief system to replace the last one. Forget it. If there is a God and he wants you to do something, he's pretty sure to tell you.
7. Don't become a victim. Victims can quickly become a pain in the arse and the sympathy you receive initially will dry up very quickly.
8. Learn how to have fun!

Massive hints against alcohol
by purrpurr inin the most recent assembly there were several heavy hints about not drinking alcohol at all.
saying that it doesn't give a good witness or would stumble others.. is this a new "unwritten directive?.

WTF is this stumbling thang anyway? He's done something I don't like so therefore it's not the truth so I'm off? Seems pretty juvenile to me.

Memorial.. To go or not to go
by Emily1987 inso, as some of you will know myself and my husband are in the process of fading.
haven't been to a meeting since beginning of 2017. .
we weren't planning on going to the memorial, but last week my mother broke down and said that we have to go to the memorial even if it's the only meeting i go to this year.

I went once with my mother, about 20 years after I'd been disfellowshipped. It was a huge mistake. Rumours flew around that I was "making my way back", so I received calls from the elders and offers of a special study just for DF'd persons - weird or what?

Is porn really such a big problem in the wt?
by purrpurr inin the most recent circuit assembly there was a lot about porn and warning against porn.
even warning against looking at swim wear adverts!
so i was wondering, is porn really such an issue in the wt?.

Watching porn is like supporting capital punishment. We eventually grow out of it. Until then, just enjoy it. -

How long is a generation?
by LevelThePlayingField inwhat splain does in his talk and chart illustration is make the leap that a generation can have two groups.
and in this case the two groups span more than 108 years.
but no where in scripture is there ever a notion that a generation has two groups.
-

Back in the day it was reckoned to be 70 years. It was unofficially promulgated in the 50's that that is where George Orwell got his idea for 1984. 1914 plus 1 generation = 1984. -

Will the Watchtower Company in the near future start asking for a tithe?
by Sour Grapes init appears that the borg has some financial issues and i would think they are related to the hush money being paid out for the child molestation lawsuits to protect the guilty cult members and the fine untarnished reputation of the jdubs.. we have seen how much the borg refers to the hebrew scriptures for their guiding principles whenever it suits the borg's needs.
tithing certainly is laced throughout the old testament.
under the mosaic law, there were three tithes.

..and of course continuing to pay one's tithing dues after being disfellowshipped would go a long way towards demonstrating sincere repentance.
