Gray beards = Americans
Grey beards = UK'ers.
so it's been over a month since i decided to grow a beard.
the mustache and chin have come in fuller than i ever imagined - while the cheeks leave me wondering if i'll ever grow enough hair to make it not look so wildly unkept and patchy (if anyone has any advice here it'd be much appreciated).
but in the mean time i'll give it another month and see how it goes.. .

does anyone else think it’s weird and controlling the organization says if your mate commits adultry, and then you have sex with them, you are not free to remarry again, since this means you forgave them.
the bible never mentions anything about this.
it’s so weird they have a say about what goes on behind closed doors of two people who are still legally married.
For many people, an end to a marriage isn't about drawing a line and never crossing it again. Relationships often end messily or merge from one to another as part of the experienced loss. Even two people who think they hate each other can sometimes fall on each other when they become overwhelmed with emotion.
hi - first some context - i have been pimo for about 20 years now and so have been to a lot of assemblies in that time.
last weekend i went to a circuit assembly and for the first time afterwards i was able to talk directly to someone who knows i'm out.
i realised then that although i didn't agree with any teachings (i sat picking holes in the arguements as usual) the experience of being there had affected me - the way of life started feeling normal as did the overall way of viewing the world.
Re the "assembly buzz". I went to my first soccer match in 1969 and recall thinking Oh wow, this is a much better atmosphere than was generated by Fred Franz.
i remember an elder questioning a woman who had admitted to giving and receiving oral sex from her unbelieving mate.
he asked her the most intimate questions which clearly flustered her.
interestingly, she “confessed “ to the elders because her conscience bothered her.

greetings, you hard workers:.
i've had enough of speaking in generalities during my time as a jw evangelizer.
while my own experience will offer up mere anecdotal examples at best, my contemporaries and i have found that kids today lack the earnestness and drive we older folks have had since youth: setting up a lemonade stand; doing yard work without power assist; mopping floors; running errands for a dime; cleaning parking lots, etc.
The current zeitgeist would seem to be all about over- parenting. Kids don't take many risks anymore. But that's the fault of their parents who are not doing them any favours at all in humouring them and providing for their children who should have left home years ago.Or at least made a sizeable contribution to the family pot!
i think many jw's have secret fears in common, but don't often voice them.
it's too bad because then they might wonder why?.
for instance, one day at work while i was talking to one of the witness ladies, (on her belief of some bible proof of the last days) she suddenly lowered her voice.
As a child and teenager I had a fear of being abandoned. Probably the result of the disfellowshipping edicts. I would often be found asking "Can you be disfellowshipped for ******* or *******"? I think that what was at the basis of my fear was that I knew my parent's love had a conditional element to it and that if I was disfellowshipped I'd have no-one left in my life.
In later years I confronted my fears when I was disfellowshipped, and sure enough my parents did act exactly as I had feared that they would. The difference was of course that this happened when I was young adult and I was then capable of ensuring my own survival.

i see there has already been discussion over lloyd’s new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
this includes discussion around his personality, motives and financial gains.
i have written a foreword for this book, because it is an important topic that has not been covered in such a complete format before.
Watched Paddington 2 last weekend. Is Phoenix Buchanan really Lloyd in disguise? There seem to be similarities..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUmkq0yBAqU
i came to the conclusion a long time ago that many jehovah`s witnesses are very superstitious in my opinion.. if after leaving the jw`s or even sometime before leaving the jw`s you may have been tempted to use the pokie`s /slots or the lotto , or even the roulette wheel at a casino .
now did you know that if you add up all the numbers on a roulette wheel it adds up to 666 .?.
now i have no problem myself playing lotto ,keno ,scratchies ,etc, however ,would i ever play the roulette wheel ever again ?.
Met my missus in a casino while I was playing roulette. I've got a pic somewhere. She was a trolly dolly..
so lloyd evans will shortly be releasing his new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
i do enjoy his rebuttals and the stuff he manages to get hold of and leak.
but i'm struggling to understand what he could possibly write to merit a whole book.. all info on how to leave is right here on this forum.
Some folk climb aboard a scene and want to take over as leader. I've seen it quite a few times. Generally it's more to do with ego than anything else.
