Official statement: "Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Scripturally Based Position on Child Protection"
by neat blue dog ini'm not sure if this was mentioned yet, but at this week's meeting they announced (or will announce for those who haven't had theirs yet) the availability of a new official statement on child abuse that can be downloaded in the legal section of jwdotorg.
(funny it's in the legal section, it just shows their mentality and how this is really damage control.
) here's the link:.

In all cases, victims and their parents have the right to report an accusation of child abuse to the authorities. . . . Elders do not criticize anyone who chooses to make such a report.
What is actually inferred: Fine. If that's what you really want to do. It's your decision. On your own head be it.

Are most Jdubs narcicistic? Does the religion breed narcicistic behaviors?
by Whynot inhttps://pro.psychcentral.com/exhausted-woman/2015/05/15-narcissistic-religious-abuse-tactics/.
i read the above posted article and it made me wonder how many narcicistic people join the borg because it fits well with their personality.
i also wonder if being indoctrinated makes you become narcicistic.

It takes a certain level of conceit to think you are Gods spokesperson or channel....
I recall how my own parents would often exclaim when confronted by a relative furious at losing our family to the WT religion: "I am a servant of the most high God!"
Eeyuk...

My dad took me to see the film when I was around 10 years old. He'd flown over 40 sorties with the RAF during WW2 and knew all about Lancaster and Halifax bombers. He'd often quip to my mother when she got all panicky that we didn't have enough fuel in our car to get where we going that there was enough left to "Get to Berlin and back".

All that behavioural stuff and fear of sinning makes a person overly self-aware IMHO. So yes, this will spill over into normal life and could well result in a person becoming manipulative and narcissistic.

Tattoos
by new boy ini don't really have an opinion on the them one way or another.. when i was growing up the only place you saw them were on old ex military guys.
they had eagles with american flags or a heart with a knife through it.
some were so old and faded out you didn't know what they were supposed represent anymore.

who has been out the longest?
by stan livedeath inwho has been out of the cult the longest ?.
i'll start--i resigned in 1971, but attended occasionally as a non-interested husband to keep the wife sweet, untill my last circuit assembly in autumn 1980. no connection with the cult since then.
so--its either 47 or 38 years, depending on how you see it.. which begs the question--why am i on this site now ?.

1972. Why am I here? Well - I'm not going to write off the first 26 years of my life, am I?

Do Witnesses Experience Racial Discrimination To Your Knowledge?
by minimus inmy experience in the kingdom hall was that racial discrimination and profiling was not typically practiced....that i know of.
i was in a diverse city with every type of skin color and nationality imaginable.. i’m wondering if the witnesses have changed due to the current affairs exposed by the media everyday.
are there discrimination issues in jw land??

Dunno. In 18 years of being a JW, I never encountered a black person in any congregation that I attended. One Asian gentlemen and his family, that was all.
