Back in the 50's, JW's poo-pooed the idea of any form of space travel. They based this on the Scripture at:
Psalm 115:16New King James Version (NKJV)
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s;
But the earth He has given to the children of men.
fourty years ago nasa sent two probes that were to go on a mission ,voyager 1 and voyager 2 in two trajectories through our solar system getting what information they could from the planets they passed close by.. 40 years later they surpassed all expectations and are still sending signals back to earth.. voyager 1 has actually gone into what is termed interstellar space that is it has exited our solar system free from the constraints of our own sun having travelled some 13 billion miles from earth.
voyager 2 which was on a different trajectory will soon itself leave our solar system and go into interstella space having travelled some 11 billion miles from earth so far.. both of these satellites/probes carry messages from the world of humans / governments to whoever might find it (alien life forms ) if they exist and find these probes.. my attention is drawn to the bible account of the tower of babel which really couldn`t have been that high seriously.and yet jehovah god felt threatened by what man could achieve if they had one universal language ?.
what must he be thinking now i wonder ?.

why doesn't the watchtower simply apply the hot / crazy matrix and leave us fellas to get on with it?.

i was reading a post on here and the poster said she went to the door twice because her mother made her go again when she didn't see her children talk to the man.
the poster said, "at least i got an rv out of it.".
ok, its been a few years, but for the first time i thought of "recreational vehicle" and not "return visit" when i read this.
RV???
Back in the day it was a BC. - Back call! Plus every BS - Bible study - also counted as a back call too.
question: an individual (non-jw, let's say) loans a car to a jw family member, to drive for a year.
car is intended to be used for basic transportation needs.
the non-jw gets car back, only to find that it's basically been driven into the ground, racking up countless miles being used for d2d preaching, and shuttling other jws around.
Just recalling my dad giving away his old but serviceable Armstrong Siddley to a struggling witness family to help them to get to meetings and ministry work etc. Within a few months they'd sold it.
i walked to the station yesterday to meet a friend, and on the way, in what must be the quietest street in the entire suburb, were two j.witnesses and their little cart, all set with a literature display.
i wondered what point there may have been to choose that location.
i felt like grabbing one of their bibles and reading matthew 5:15 to them:.
Today I walked past a JW cart set up in the foyer of a closed-down British Home stores in our local High Street. There were 3 of them in charge, just stood there talking amongst themselves. I saw them on the way in to do our shopping, and on the way back, an hour later. Then I thought Gosh! That's 3 hours spent in service to go down on their report cards and to ultimately finish up as part of the total in the UK yearbook. Just stood around doing nothing.
And they call that witnessing!
Easy life...
looking at all the narcissistic bull shit the watchtower corporation has been spewing out for the world to see about suffering of its members to as nothing worth being very concerned about and as jehovah magnificent be vindicated is much more important.
have they really gone off their rocker enough for a very sizable portion of membership to see their insanity and jump ship?.
i think definitely they are losing all respect from their internet savy members as their madness becomes obvious.
And when people suddenly start to realise TTATT, do you know what is the first thing that they do?
They make contact with their disfellowshipped friends and family.

they have care homes in england and wales: wigan, leyland, blackpool, methyr.and one in canada http://www.jah-jireh.on.ca/.
these are not funded or subsidized by watchtower.
The Guardian, 22 August 2017
There is now compelling evidence that self-funded residents are paying higher fees and effectively subsidising state-funded residents sharing the same home, and that without this much of the social care market would not be viable.
That's correct. My MIL sold her home to pay for her care in a residential home. The cost was £800 per week. Once her assets fell below £23K, the state would take over her payments, however, the same residential home only charged the state £580 per week for non self-funders. BUT the home were not obligated to continue MIL's care as once she stopped being a self-funder, they would give preference to another self-funder and suggest MIL moved somewhere else.
for *australian* exjws who have stories of domestic violence, use email in this story to share.

I was on the receiving end of violence from my first wife. She was a born-in and had absolutely no boundaries at all once she became angry. Her whole family were that way inclined although she was by far the worst. Eventually, our neighbours who were also witnesses reported the matter to the elders having heasrd her screaming. They came to visit just as I was sporting some deep facial scratches. They sat me down and read me Scriptures about how I must keep her in subjection. Oh boy.

This outfit started up about 20 years ago. I believe the fella who came up with idea was named Delaney. The original idea was that it was to be a home for long-serving JW's in extremely good standing. My momma was flattered to have been told that she was on the short list and that if she became infirm, she would be provided for.
She visited a home once and left as fast as her theocratic little legs could carry her, totally disillusioned as I recall.
ok, this is from 2006. but someone on reddit mentioned it and posted a link.
my word, the micro-management and unnecessary lengths they go to to control:.
