  I think pedophilia, as the others psychological disorders, needs to be studied. If you think about, for exemple, in epilepsy, we today can say that this is a neurological problem, and it affects all your life. But we know what it is. But before, many said that it was related to Satan, Demons, and many people were killed because the religion and the non-compreensive minds.

  Today, we can do with the pedophilia the same we did with epilepsy. We can kill all pedophiles, or we can listen to them and learn how help this people and the victims.

  Well, in Portugal you don't see this really much, even in big cities. I personnaly think that the street work works better than preaching door to door.

  so i'm having a pint and talking to the owner and his gf.. she's talking about her line of work - leads to my family history - and that my wife is in a strange religion.. the owner snorts, and says very disdainfully that his ex was a jehovah's witness.

  i said bingo.. then the barmaid pipes in about her grandma and all of her aunts and uncles were witnesses, and were all out.

  but the grandma has witness siblings, so went back after 20 years.

  i've seen elders over the years openly flaunt "the rules", butt-kiss (the co especially), show favoritism and appoint brothers they like and not appoint brothers that should of been appointed for some trivial reason.

  many lord their "power" over the friends in blatant violation of scriptures and watchowers that specifically say that they shouldn't lord themselves over the flock.

  they pretty much do what they want!

  You don't need to forget that all elders ar part of the same system: The JW system. so, they act as they learned: serving the government Body :( and screwing people's private life.

  This organization, James Jackson, lives with the law of fear. All JW's need to be afraid of the system. And the elders are part of the system.

  i learnt this game on another site, and its great fun.

  you name a song title and the next person names another title that has one of the words from the first one, making a chain of associations.. so far instance,.

  our house...csny.....house of the rising sun.....bob dylan.... your turn... .

  An elder is the congregation's boss, so like an entreprise, they can do anything they want, and it's ok, because this religion needs only money, not perfection or good behavior to raise and be more rich.

  How many use iPads or tablets in your cong?

  a question for those that still attend meetings.... how many use tablets or ipads in your hall?.

  i did roving microphones this week, and i counted 43 people (variety of ages) out of an audience of 98!.

  Well, in my congregation (i live in Portugal), we have like 2 or 3 tablets. It's simples: the old people doesn't matter about new technologies, and the young people don't have much money to afford Ipad, Ipod and stuff like that (It's a poor country dudes! xD). In some congregations, for 100 publishers, there are 4 ou 5 tablets.
