There's not much option as a child to defy what your parents think is the best for you... Even if that (getting baptized) it's a "life time" decision, baptized or not my patented would prevent me from participating in Christmas, birthdays, and interaction wit non-jw family and other activities (sports, being class president, Etc), it adds you a special burden (specially if you are an smart boy) thinking that you must behave as an true representative of the only true religion, and the angst of not waste time in any "useless" activity like a hobby... Blood guilt if you dare not to knock on doors and pretend that you did?... Because after being baptized were are supposed to even gave up our life for "the kingdom"...

WT Study 1/10/16 Encouraging Child Baptism And More Nonsense
by JW_Rogue ini've noticed that each wt lesson really only has one or two points they want remembered.
normally they build up to these by about the third subheading.
this week's lesson though was different, the main point was insidiously made through an experience in the first paragraph:.

Basically the WT is saying that the earlier you got your children baptized the thoughter will be for them to eventually break free... The sooner you starting to preach full time, less chances are that you get to college and the farther from this Worldly wicked system -

Children baptism ruined my life when I was 10 :(
I quoted to my father when we fight about me dating a non-jw the fact that I supposedly choose something "for life"at 10 that were affecting me 10 years later in a matter that I didn't even suspect I could feel: loving a girl and wanting to date her... Would you allow to marry someone at 10? So why it's OK to make such a "decision" as baptism that will affect every other decision in life after???!!!
my father then said... "You dating a non-jw girl it's like me cheating on your mom..." Just imagine what happened a year later between my father and a young pioneer lady that had been intimate friend of my whole family... Sad sad sad... STOP RUINING THE CHILDRENS LIFE AHEAD, everything could be so much easy if I didn't baptize :(

This was a message I sent to a zealous witness in Chile who formerly had blocked me
by joe134cd inbelow is a message i sent to a witness in chile.
i have included it in its raw form with spelling mistakes included.
i was deep in thought this evening so i thought i would ask you directly to get your honest opinion on it, and i guess if you block me then that's ok.. seriously were you totally unaware that the chilean flag is placed inside the kingdom halls to avoid having to pay a fine during fiestas patrias celebrations (september 18-19).

What happens finally? If you know where your friend lives I would maybe deliver your message physically, that would be striking I think... -

Assembly Hall selling HVAC machines
by StarTrekAngel innot going to disclose a whole lot of details because it will implicate someone else without their consent.
someone very close to me, who is a non-baptized publisher (for almost 3 years now), went to work to the local assembly hall.
recently, they removed the existing hvac machines and replaced them with new ones.

Years ago I was in charge of the sound equipment, and discovered and old power mixer amplifier. It was a 70's model made with wood and solid metal parts, it weighed a ton!... And was in perfect functions conditions, just some dust. I asked the elders if I could take it and they replied that otherwise it would be dumped. I restored it and had it with me some time, it sounded GREAT. Unfortunately I lent it to a rural congregation just mont before I leave, so they are still using it... I want it back to amplify my (future) turntable!!! Luckily I think that taking it back it's still possible -

I would translate "lo que nos quieras dar" as "whatever you offer" in the way we use "I don't give a ..." -

Is the Pioneer School being eliminated?
by wannaexit ini heard from the semi reliable source that the pioneer schools will go the way of the dodo bird next year.. i could see this happening.
it used to be that you went to the the pioneer school once.
then they allowed dubs to go every 5 years.

it was fun to organise all the lunch things for the brothers, I ate very well those days. also i ran some kind of business taking the "graduation" picture for everyone and crafting some kind of diplome with those and framing it, it was very useful "summer money" and I became me well know in my city for that kind of work -
did you assist to 2009 international assembly in chile?
by Mandrake ini've been curious.
yesterday i discarded a lot of ugly souvenirs from that convention, i remember that i was at the santiago airport (my dad worked there) and i was assigned to translate and guide brothers through customs and many other processes.
i still have some led keyring flashlight david splane gave to me (he was at the time advising against college but next year i applied anyway) and i decided to conserve the visit card i got from gerrit losch and wife.

Still feel weird about things....
by FeelingFree inso i'm loving the fact that my little one gets to be a "normal" child and take part in everything at school.
however i still have that stupid niggling in the back of my head that she shouldn't be doing it and it's wrong etc.
at the moment she is rehearsing for the nativity play and keeps singing the songs at home (she is going to be an angel!

Hey! I think it's pretty much normal. It's been me 2nd year totally out and my birthdays it's still a bit of a struggle for my mind to totally and completely enjoy, but this last time I must said I enjoyed more, so maybe it's a matter of time and release bonds and mental programming to fade...
