It would be presumptuous to say that.

Do you believe Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body is the "faithful slave"?
by Marvin Shilmer inthis question is known to be posed by jws to other jws as an acid test of loyalty.
i'm not the first to notice what i'm about to point out and comment accordingly, but today i felt compelled to add a short article on my blog highlighting the new language that governing body member geoffrey jackson supplies as a response.
a person who honestly hesitates to respond with a robust "yes!

I believe that the greater percentage of JWs-You Will Not Be Able to Help, no Matter What Facts You Show Them.
by John Aquila inso i ran into this brother whom ive known for a while and the conversation led into me being invited to come back to the kingdom hall.
we talked for about an hour during which time i explained to him 607 being the wrong date and a lot of other stuff including the child abuse cases in australia.
but what i wanted to relate was the last few minutes of our conversation.

It's not like they invented the Bible. Nor do they own it.
The hope and the answers for humankind are in the Bible. But you get to live free, make your own decisions, not have a bunch of people try to control every aspect of your life.
Christianity is a religion of freedom and they made it a controlling cult.
Yes, it might be difficult alone. People might not understand your hope and your faith. But can you really find understanding in the organization?
I do not think so. Yes, you can socialize with some kind people, but I don't know if they are much better than the average person out there. There are situations when you can not really trust anyone in the org and you can not express yourself.
There are pros and cons for being inside and the same for being outside.
But I prefer freedom over fakeness.
I think there are some who continue to believe or to want to believe that this org is the only one because this thought is good for their ego. They are the ones who understood and are a part of the one and only org.
I don't understand the ones who stay in for the social life... there are so many decent, moral and human people out there. It all comes down to paying attention to people, being friendly, trying to get to know them and establish a relationship with the ones you like.

I told some jw's about things in the Bible we do not believe as they are written ... they say I have apostate ideas.
And that I came to those apostate ideas because I am not married and no one to help me spiritually, poor me! ha ha

Women are Women and Men are men in the Real World , apparently not in J.W.`s world.
by smiddy inaccording to j.w.`s the 144000 are a literal number of people , both men and women taken from the earth to rule with christ jesus in the heavens .this would also include judging in this role.
(see another thread about women as judges).
women in the religion of j.w.`s have no place in leadership roles ,cannot be elders , ministerial servants , or serve in any position of authority , and have no teaching voice in any congregation .. yet faithful anointed women can , upon their death rule with christ jesus in heaven for 1000 years according to j.w.

The 144.000 are Jewish people, as the bible says. To admit this would put the GB is trouble.
The only covenant for Christians is the new covenant.
There is no covenant for a kingdom with Christians. There is an assignment that Jesus gives to the 12 apostles, who are Jews. In Luke 22:29 the word "covenant" does not appear there.
The wt admits there is no word covenant there. If you have NWT with references, look at the apendix, pages 1584-1585 7D “Covenant” , it is an apendix for the word covenant and there are listed all the verses where "covenant" appears, Luke 22:29 is not among them.
So the NWT with References appendix is proof they mistranslated Luke 22:29 and inserted a covenant for the kingdom with the disciples.
It is not like the kingdom is taken from the Jews and given to Christians, but rather the new covenant allows people from other nations who become Christians to co-inherit the kingdom with Jews. It is an extension, not a replacement.
The number in revelations refers to Jewish people who will have a special place in God's kingdom, not to all anointed.
More about the invented covenant of the wt, a covenant that no one else finds in the bible, but the greedy GB of WT:

Look for yourself how other Bibles translate that verse http://biblehub.com/luke/22-29.htm -

The wt society does not understand the concept of the new creation, though the Bible is speaking so much about it.
http://www.openbible.info/topics/new_creation_in_christ
The purpose of God is the new creation, and that is what He means by "Look, I make all things new!"
But this light has avoided the GB ... and this is why they need to change their "understanding" every 2 years and go round and round in circles with their false teachings.
Those 7 men in the GB are bluffing.

It is good that they live you alone now.
When you spend holidays, if they say something give them that verse that says you should not judge others for considering a day above others, say christmas is for you a period when people are kind to one another, a celebration of humanity in people, and new year is a new beginning. it is not religious nowadays.
Memorize some verses like the one who says no one should be a master over another person's faith.
Be very concise when you speak with elders or your husband about this matters, give them a verse and shut them up about judging you.

I am sorry for the kids in jw's families who are pressured into being baptised from a young age, just so that the GB's statistics would look good. -

Geoffrey Jackson: "That would be presumptuous of us"...
by Calebs Airplane inwithin the first few minutes, mr. stewart asked geoffrey jackson if the members of the governing body consider themselves to be god's spokesperson on earth.. his response: "that would be presumptuous of us" (implying that they don't consider themselves to be god's sole channel of communication).. to me, that was the worst lie of about 26 lies he's told during this hearing.
however, mr. stewart missed an opportunity to call out mr. jackson on this bold-faced lie.
he should have asked him to explain why the watchtower magazine teaches otherwise.

Will the resurrected marry/have children?
by davidmitchell ini have just finished reading 'brock talon's' two books.
in one of them, entitled journey to god's house, pub.
he comments on how the wt's pictures of the post-armageddon world do not agree with their doctrines, namely that those who are physically resurrected will not marry/have children.

The GB is bluffing. They get it wrong from the beginning.
The purpose of God in not paradise on this earth, it is the transformation of men into a new creation. This is also the purpose of the 1000 years kingdom - to decide who gets transformed into the new man. Some will be transformed at the beginning of the 1000 years, some at the end, after the last judgement.
Jesus was resurrected as the new man, He was the first one of this new creation. This is the reason why jw's can not explain what happened with Jesus's body, and they came with that explanation of Jesus materializing himself, taking different bodies. They do not get this idea of a new creation and a new man that the letters of the apostles talk about. Jesus talked about this in metaphors and parables, because this was part of the sacred secret revealed after the resurrection of Jesus.
Paul says if the sacred secret would have been known before, the authorities of this world would not have crucified Jesus. The big surprise was that Jesus was resurrected as a new kind of man, immortal and indestructible. This is the way the saved ones will be resurrected. But there will also be resurrection for people who are not yet saved, the unjust, those will be resurrected as normal humans, of flesh and blood, as we are now.

Is Jackson embarrassed to be a JW?
by Doubting Bro ini listened to the majority of jackson's part one testimony and it seems apparent to me that he either:1) is embarrassed to be a jw or 2) doesn't really believe.
i've heard countless times from the platform and in print that we should be proud to be jws and take every opportunity to defend our beliefs.
yet, it seems jackson didn't even want to admit that he believed he was being directly used by jehovah to lead the congregation as his spokesman.

@ DB
I have to tell my workmates or school mates at every opportunity my beliefs but Mr. Jackson can't tell a lawyer what his beliefs are?
You are right, minions of jw's have to preach that seven men living in Brooklyn are God's spokesmen on earth, as crazy as this sounds, they have to preach it with all seriousness.
If any jw says they do not believe / are not sure that the GD is God's only channel of communication on earth, they will be immediately disfellowshiped.
And here comes Jackson saying it would be presumptuous to say they are God's spokesmen ...
