To my surprise, I found this:
The overlapping generations model is an economic model ...

If those people from wt are inspired, why can't they at least come up with something original ....

this is a question for ex jw's who have joined another christian faith group.
the purpose of my question iis to find out which christian faith group you chose after leaving watchtower and what convinced you to travel this new spiritual path you are on.
i am interested to know because i personally would like to find a genuine faith group where i can feel true christian liberty as i initially thought i had with the witnesses.
I joined Biblical Unitarians.
We believe that God's kingdom will come on earth, that Christ will come on earth and rule with true christians for 1000 years, that all true christians are anointed, that all will get immortality (not in the sense of spirit creatures, the jw's make a mess of that doctine)and actually, Jesus preached 2 things: The Kingdom coming on earth and immortality for the believers and the ones who accept His sacrifice.
Because we are not many, and are from different countries, we participate to meetings online, we have comunion once a month usually.
The ones in the US even meet some times a year. I live in Europe, and only have a group in a country next to me, have not been yet to a physical meeting, but will go, plus this year a couple of same faith will move to my country, in a near town, we will be 3 in my country :)
Also, in summer I will visit a sister who lives in europe, too, but in another country.
So we all few, but we have online meetings, speak on the phone with some, and some who live close, meet.
Here is the website where the weekly meetings are livestreamed:
so i guess i like to use this forum to kind of vent my thoughts to people who'd understand..but anyways, i realized i've been out six months now, and if you've read my old posts you'd know that i've made several "mistakes" so far.
i've been kind of promiscuous and have gotten hurt...but despite all that, i feel like these past few months have been the happiest of my entire life!
i finally know what boundaries are good for me and i just feel so..free!
I found my freedom, too, but in a different way. I researched, I read what others'interpretation of some passages are, I prayed and found answers. I see now they do not have the truth, and they are just false blind prophets, that block the way to God not only for themselves, but also for others.
I see the similarities between them and other christian religions that they so much criticise. Yes, they have some truths, but mixed with many false teachings, there is no big difference between them and others.
There is so much freedom in finding out there is no "organization" that you need to be a part of to be saved or in a relationship with God. God is alive, Jesus is alive and he promised us the aid of the spirit, what else do we need? what better help could we have.
This is the freedom I found. I do not asked myself for every little thing if it according to "the advice" of the "slave". I think for myself, I ask God directly for advice, and I trust my thinking and my intuition. I feel much more in connection to God.

thank you atlantis / wtunderground !.
i read this blog post by a person i have no idea if she is still a jw or not, but it made me think and gain some new perspective on using the divine name.
please read it if you can, it will change your view!
and it totally devalidates the jw dogma that they are the only ones using god's name, no, they are actually orphans.
@ fukitol
you are right
@GodZoo
He is an amazing and wonderful Father for me and He is for everyone who wants Him as a Father. To the rest, He gives them the right to be on their own.

the nw translation and some of its unique renderings, like john 1.1- "a god," and colossians 1.16 - "all other things," have been consistently at the top of the most debated topics here in this forum and elsewhere from the beginning.
the anger felt by detractors of the nwt rendering of john 1.1 (a god) has diminished considerably if compared to the furious debates surrounding the verse that raged on during the 1950 thru 1970s.
There is no logical explanation of the trinity!.
Check it's origin, and you will see where it's coming from.
God is One!!!
Even Jesus said: the most important commandment: Listen, oh, Israel, God, your God, is One!!!

For me the "aha" of the article was that in the new testament, God's name does not appear anymore, because in it, God reveals Himself in a new role - the role of a Father.
The Missing Piece
While we have speculatively inserted Jehovah’s name 238 times in the NWT 2013 Edition, there are two other more significant numbers: 0 and 260. The first is the number of times Jehovah is referred to as the personal father of any human in the Hebrew Scriptures.[viii]
... In contrast, the second number, 260, represents the number of times Jesus and the Christian writers used the term ‘Father’ to depict the relationship Christ and his disciples enjoy with God.
An Orphan No More!
What a great truth Jesus was revealing! No longer is Jehovah simply God; to be feared and obeyed and yes, loved—but loved as a God not a father. Christ, the last Adam, opened the way for the restoration of all things. (1 Cor. 15:45) Now we can love Jehovah as a child loves a father. We can feel that special, unique relationship only a son or daughter can feel for a loving father.
For thousands of years, men and women had wandered like orphans through life. Then along came Jesus to show us firsthand that we were no longer alone. We could rejoin the family, be adopted; orphans no more. This is what is revealed by the 260 references to God as our Father, a reality missing from the Hebrew Scriptures. Yes, we know God’s name is Jehovah, but for us he is papa! This wonderful privilege is open to all humankind, but only if we accept the spirit, die to our former way of life and are reborn in the Christ. (John 3:3)
And this is what the watchtower is taking away from it's followers: the right to be God's child, to see Him and have a relationship with Him like with a Father, the right to be Jesus's brother.
This article made me realize that God wants us to be more than His Witnesses, He wants us to be His Children and to be brought back into God's family. - and this is one of the roles of Jesus, to make this reunion possible.
All that separation the wt. created: the anointed, the brothers of Christ and the followers of the brothers of Christ, where did that all come from?
