StarTrekAngel:
The part I've love the most was when Jackson tried to point the bible page number to Stewart and Stewart went "I've already have it!"

Did you hear Stewart use the bible to prove an incredibly good point to Jackson!!
by umbertoecho ini thought at the end, stewart made brilliant use of scripture (about establishing fornication or other sexually immoral practises) how, in such a clever way stewart used scripture to point out that some one could basically stake out someone's house to see if a person stayed over night be they homosexual or heterosexual............that on the basis of a sort of stakeout, the two witness rule was ambivalent yet it prevailed.
due to sufficient suspicion.. and therefore why did this "suspicion" not prevail with child sexual abuse.

And Pope Geoff responsded in perfectly trained "Book Study" fashion."Oh!! Very good!"He sounded like he was talking to a little boy. What a pompous, arrogant asshole. Jackson, who dropped out of school at 15, commending the Rhodes Scholar on his ability to find a bibble babble verse. -

Washington Post: JW the least willing religion to deal with child sexual abuse
by adjusted knowledge inthe church, which was founded in pennsylvania in the 1870s to promote a first century interpretation of the bible and is now headquartered in brooklyn, has emerged as the least able or willing to deal with sexual abuse within its ranks, according to annie cousins, a law professor at the university of new south wales and an expert in sex crimes who is a consultant to the inquiry.. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/jehovahs-witnesses-face-child-sex-abuse-investigation-in-australia/2015/08/14/d8a58eda-406e-11e5-9561-4b3dc93e3b9a_story.html.
now i know that annie cousins is not of the high caliber expert witness as the jw expert monica applewhite but i think cousins makes a great observation..

I hope you meant that tongue in cheek.
Annie Cousins, a law professor at the University of New South Wales and an expert in sex crimes who is a consultant to the inquiry.
A law professor with a specialty in sex crimes? I betcha she would have no trouble producing research material to solidify her credibilty.
I would place her expert qualifications head and shoulders above Applewhite's limited experience and capabilities.
*to add - excellent article. Shared it on facebbok.

GB member Geoffrey Jackson is lying!
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inokay, i know the royal commission hasn't started yet.
but i'm confident enough that he will be telling some whoppers.
so i thought i'd be the first to get a thread started for something that will begin... very soon now!.

I wonder why the RC didn't have the nerve to summon the POPE to explain Catholic policies ....SimonSays
Lol! Well, that is an easy one. They didn't have to.
The Catholic Church response is different than the WTS pope circle has displayed.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/429520001/new-catholic-tribunal-formed
And besides, if the minion elders and the branch boys had told the truth to begin with, maybe Pope Geoffery could have stayed home.

jhine: I've been wondering for a while does Angus the Amazing have any religious beliefs ? He does seem to have a real grasp on the Bible and the way JWs interpret it and an understanding that a literal interpretation isn't always necessary and that the org do use their interpretation to trap people .
I think it is more the case that Angus is an excellent lawyer. The Bible is just a tiny little book compared to the years of reearch and knowledge that he has tucked away inside his brain. Becoming a lawyer requires skills far beyond Jackson's mental capacity.
Deconstructing archaic Biblical law is not hard for people who have soooo much more education and knowledge than Jackson has. My gawd - Jackson dropped out of school at 15!

Jacksons giving a bloody witness!!!!!!!!!!!
by umbertoecho ini can't believe this crap, jackson is giving a witness to stewart......oh please no...........

Jackson revealed far more than he realizes with his "preaching". Cool. He showed the whole world what an idiot he is. Now everybody can see what the JWs are subjected to on a continual basis.
At the beginning of his testimony, he made sure to relate all the "facts and figures" that are the mainstay of the cult.
Lol! He claimed that there were "20 million associated" and "8.2 million active" JWs. Well, what does that say, really? There are more people that have left, faded, but no longer want to be counted as JWs than that have stayed inside the cult? It sounds like 11.8 dissatisfied JWs to me.
Or maybe...those are the ones that come out of the bush once a year with their old Rutherford literature in hand to attend the annual non-blood ritual.

Umber, you are my hero.
vidiot: Wait, what's the point if they don't actually call him on the bullshit the way they did with the others?
I'm with Outlaw on this one. They didn't have to. It is called giving him enough rope. Jackson pulled a long enough piece of rope out of his ass that all that needs to be done now is to start tightening the noose.
*too add: time constraints to consider

I'm 16 and I might be pregnant In a JW household
by NYsweet16 inokay, i don't even know where to start.
i'm 16, i live in a strict jw household and i know if i am pregnant (which is a big possibility) ..i know i'm doomed to a life of misery.
not because of my baby but because of my family and the isolation and judgement from the congregation.

NYSweet16, you are a minor so you should be able to receive community support from social service agencies. Is there a kids-help line where you are?
Please, talk to people who can help you with looking after both your mental and physical health. Agencies outside of the Jehovah's Witnesses. I know there are places that can help young women in your situation. Back in 1973, I was 15 and pregnant. I had a baby boy at 16 years of age. I lived in a home for unwed mothers for the last part of my pregnancy.
Good luck. And a big hug.

Sauerkraut: Why did they let him hide behind the bible so much? I'm somewhat disappointed it turns out to be a bible discussion.
Probably because the WTS claims that the policies of the JWs are scripturally based.
I thought that the Commission experts handled the Biblical debates very well. Jackson's ONLY defense and source of reference was the silver sword and both Stewart and McClelland didn't shy away from pointing out Jackson's inconsistencies for his twisted Bible interpretations. I don't think that Jackson did very well in his role as a "guardian of doctrine".

mgmelkat: I'd like to see where they have apologised and for what??
Oh. That was in a letter once - they said "We are so sorry for all those people who died because we siad they couldn't have a blood trnasfusion. We are sorry for all those babies and children who have died."
Oh...they never really said that, did they? I must apologize. I am sorry...my mistake.
