  millie: Did you happen to see a post by OrphanCrow somewhere on a thread that this phrase was first uttered by the Pope in a speech he gave just recently (2014)?

  Yeah...methinks that Monica has been taking her "internship" position seriously. She slipped in her testimony on the stand at one point and said "we" will have to "look at that policy". I think she acts in a consultant capacity of some sort.

  The WTS has obviously had the support of the Catholic Church - after all, the "mother" has had lots of practice in trying to defend their child abuse policies.

  I showed a friend of mine (never a JW) these two photos and she is convinced that these two popes are clones!

  I downloaded one of the images to get a better look, but I lost the detail.

  I am struck by how your use of line conveys so much emotion - the downward lines pull your 'earthly' elements into the ground, and the heaviness grounds them...yet at the same time, the expansiveness of the air around the figures gives hope....

  Beautiful images. Much appreciated. Art has the power to speak when words cannot be found.

  WE NEED MORE MONEY! (Letter sent to Mexico re: JW Broadcasting of May 2015).

  i don't know if they're making similar arrangements in other parts of the world but below you will find the letter (and the translation attempt) they're sending to all the congregations in mexico and central america asking them to modify their september 21 and september 28 service meeting programs.. after watching jackson's gold apple watch and lett's pinky ring one can only assume they are a bunch of brazen, shameless and greedy bastards!.

  the letter has already been uploaded at the spanish forum and you can find it if you click here or see the attached picture.. the translation "attempt" is as follows:.

  august 1, 2015. to all congregations.

  Yeah, that's why they are asking for "valubaubles"...just in case someone has a few pieces of old family heirlooms sittting around that they aren't gonna need in paradise.

  "Honor Jehovah with your valuable things."

  Humph, for some reason that verse brings to mind old illustrations in the WT literature that showed people laying jewels and babies on the false god altar.

  this may sound insane but i literally have blood on my hands as i have just come home from a counselling session that went wrong...i wanted to collate all that has happened and record it...hospital policy is against it.

  i said "what am i alive for then if not to tell the truth" she tut tutted and i walked out sadly in despair.. when i got to the ground floor there was a young girl screaming her head off.

  she was afraid, that is all she was...........afraid.

  CALL FOR PAPERS
  In the past 50 years, scholarly research has gone from relative ignorance of the Jehovah’s Witnesses to profound curiosity. While in the 1970s there were few serious studies of the movement, the bibliography is now extremely rich. Parallel with the evolution of the scholarly gaze, the group itself has considerably evolved in the last decades.
  The European Observatory of Religion and Secularism feels that it is time to bring together scholars and students who have studied the group, in order to compare and combine their works and provide our community with an up to date state of the arts analysis of this most significant minority religion.
  All features of Jehovah’s Witnesses can be presented: history, relations with the outside world, international settlements, theology, sociology of the members, iconography, publications…
  Practical information:
  There are many hotels in Antwerp and a few in Wilrijke and Mortsel: check on the Internet and do the booking yourself. FVG is on a bus line to downtown Antwerp.
  Registration fee: 50 euros and 10 euros for each lunch.
  Papers will be considered for publication, with editorial details given during the conference. It is understood that presenters must submit their paper first to the organizers before submitting it to other publishers.
  Unfortunately, no funding will be available to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
  Deadline for submission: February 29, 2016.

  anyone in the usa following this morning's shooting "on-air" live tv will know what i'm talking about.

  bryce williams (not real name, but on-air name) shot and killed 2 people on live television this morning in roanoke, va. he was wearing a go-pro camera, and uploaded his first-person video onto his social media accounts.

  i've seen his twitter feed (before it was taken down), and not very far down he mentions being raised a jw.

  I have looked, but am unable to find it again. I read a news relaese that stated how much some victims of other instituions have received - or the money set aside for victims in that one case - and the total figure represented a three way input. From the instituion, and two levels of government in Australia.

  It was a substantial amount per victim. If it is any indication, the WTS will be taking a big hit soon. Many millions.
