  i than asked her.....why is the memorial in march and not in april when nissan 14 is?.

  her response..."pray to jehovah for understanding.

  Chelmsford is an Asbestos Dump

  the dubsters in the uk are being taken for such a ride.. on one side they have prime land and property to sell in north london worth many millions of uk pounds.. on the other they have bought a contaminated site used for years of illegal dumping.

  one of the main contaminants is asbestos.

  it will take volunteer labour months simply to remove the toxic material.

  I think it is a bit early in the project to say that the Temple Farm Development is running into problems with asbestos removal. The WTS was fully aware that it is a contaminated site and I would suspect that they are following regulations in how to handle the contamination.

  According to the Temple Farm Phasing Plan, it will be a five year project.

  Oh...and by the way...there was a thread on here a while back where someone was getting all excited because the site was restricted for a while and there were excavations going on. If you read the phasing plan, you will discover that those activities were part of an archaeological survey to see if there was anything historically important beneath the surface before proceeding with the project.

  I always laugh when people like Oprah say "money doesn't make you happy"

  Money buys food and shelter. It fills your stomach and keeps you warm. Food and shelter make people happy.

  I have noticed that the people who say "money doesn't make you happy" are the ones who are going to be eating that night and sleeping in a warm bed.

  LostandFound: I heard from a source that they were actively looking to move bulk funds to territories that are secure and out of reach of western authorities, even as far as Asia.

  That makes sense.

  Wouldn't you do the same thing if you thought that your 'nest egg' was at risk of being seized? I don't believe for a minute that the WTS is just going on with "business as usual" when they know damn well that Australia will be coming up with a redress scheme that will put the WTS on the hook for millions, if not billions.

  The WTS can hear the footsteps - the UK is next. And, in the UK, if you owe money, your assets in other countries can be seized. Not sure about Australia and Canada. But it wouldn't surprise me if it is similar for those countries - the ties and similarities in legal structure are close between them.

  I couldn't handle the confusion anymore so I phoned Revenue Canada this morning and asked them about the Canadian WTS' return and why they no longer show assets and very little donations.

  The person I talked to was very surprised that the return showed what it did and she was almost positive that the 2015 return that is displayed on the website is in error. She does not think that the return posted is actually the correct one for the WTS in Canada.

  She is contacting her supervisor and will be looking into why the return seems to be inaccurate. "Look back in about two weeks and if the return hasn't changed by then, contact us again". And "thanks for getting a hold of us as this charity is a very large and active one and I cannot see them making major changes without us knowing about it."

  So...patience, Grasshopper...

  The donations that come from the individual congregations must get sent directly to New York - do not pass "go" and do not collect $$$...go directly to Crooklyn.

  The donations from each congregation exceed the total amount of revenue declared by the Canadian branch office.

  Hard to believe they would shut down Canadian Bethel when they have been shifting all the printing there from the USA.

  But...how can they print in Canada with only $9,676 in assets? I had said earlier that it was zero...but under 10 grand is like zero when your assets used to be over $160 million.

  Who owns the Canadian branch assets like the new printing presses and such? Are those assets just part of the New York assets now? Paper shuffling? And why? Avoidance of Canadian tax laws?
