Paranormal Warning

i've heard some weird stories coming from jws about the paranormal.

i know about the warnings about items that come from unbelievers -- those don't interest me as much.

what i am interested in are actual experiences in stories of the paranormal you've heard or experienced yourself.

It's less fun if a "Mr. Stiffy" moves in unexpectedly and uninvited to your house and stays for months.

Tenacious: I believe I heard mom say he would beat the sister and tried to keep her from attending. You would think the idiot brothers would tell her to cooperate with him but instead probably pushed her to fight him in order to attend. Boy oh boy.

You would think the idiot brothers would have known that telling a woman to cooperate with an man who beats her is a stupid thing to say

The woman needed, first of all, the police, and then domestic violence counselling and a safe place to get away from him. No woman should be told to cooperate as a way of solving family violence issues

Thanks for clarifying that. Sorry... I reacted strongly - these stories of callousness are a bit disheartening and it is good to know he had his family with him

It really is awful how this religion can remove normal human reactions from its followers. It has a twisted way of looking at death - most JWs seem to be numb to human tragedy. Maybe it is the exposure to vivid, violent images of death and dying at Armageddon that is responsible for their inappropriate or non response to real suffering right in front of them. They have been desensitized

What the heck is that supposed to mean?? I am great on a campout...I think. Oh...maybe not. I just remembered my last camping trip...

You may say here and now that you wouldn't mind being locked into an abandoned prison or asylum to spend the night, but if it came down to it, we'd probably all chicken out rather than do it.

Lol! Actually, I have done this. Seriously. I spent the night, with a group of paranormal investigators, inside an old TB sanatorium. It had been abandoned for years. Apparently, it is claimed to be one the highest paranormal sites in Canada.

We split into two groups and I was with the group that sat inside the overflow morgue with the lights off - we were looking for "Mr. Stiffy" - the undertaker that was said to hang out there on occasion. Fun times

Exit therapist

i am having quite a bit of trouble leaving and fading.

does anyone have recommendations of an exit therapist?

it doesn't matter where they are located, i need to get out physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Perry, your comments are not appropriate on this thread. I realize that Jesus works for you....but the OP was an inquiry about "exit therapists". As much as you believe that Jesus is a therapist...he isn't.

If the title of this thread, or the OP, suggested that what was needed was religious advice, your religious advice would be welcome. They didn't. Their concern was genuine and your comments serve to derail an important topic. And, you know this. So I find your comments to be insensitive to the poster who started this thread and to the people who have responded sincerely

Yes. They are reflective anomalies of light.

You had mentioned negatives. Analog film is only sensitive to the visible light spectrum (unless it is specialty film such as infared sensitive). If you cannot see something with your naked eye, neither can the camera - the film only records what is in the visible light spectrum. Any anomalies that the film captures are simply the result of optics...nothing more (*except chemical processes). And the interpretation of those anomalies are influenced by the phenomena described in the link Cofty provided

Unbelievable - the audience sits and watches a real life drama unfold in front of them. Sits and watches

I find that to be very disrespectful. Handled in the best way possible??? No. Not at all. Giving the poor fellow some privacy should have been right up there on the list of priorities. Letting him be the center of entertainment is really f***ing nuts

Dismiss the audience...postpone the meeting...make a human wall/curtain around the poor guy. Give him and his family privacy. But no, let it become a public spectacle instead. How incredibly unemphatic

And WTF? His daughter didn't go with him??? She stayed at the meeting? Why wasn't she at Daddy's deathbed saying goodbye?

You really need to attend a good university (not one of those 'christian' ones that employ only scholars that agree with their 'christian' theology). I mean a real university. One that employs people who have legitimate credentials like Dr. Carrier
