  The HLC material is elusive and not readily available

  I have found historic documents produced by the WT to be used by their hospital committees that does not include ownership 'stamps' of any kind or copyright publication notices

  So, when I encounter a piece of literature or publication that has the "look" and content of what I expect to see as HLC 'format" but may not quite pass the credential standards...I throw out a hook...

  Thank you so, so much for the information. I have been hoping someone had some better and more stuff than I can uncover

  *to add - I thought the Blood Workbook looked a little skimpy...but then I thought maybe it was just that pocket sized edition, so they didn't have to have all those bulky, bulky files to chose from. And this one is handy...with all the spiritual advice in one easy to access spot...

  darkspliver: What makes you think that this PDF is "the latest HLC handbook" ?

  Because it contains all the information that an HLC person would use for making decisions about "conscience matters" and because it obviously isn't a 'regular' WT publication

  And okay...so it might not be the "latest" in technical terms...but it is the latest one I have seen. 2013 isn't that long ago

  I suspect that this is purely the work of an over-zealous person back in 2013 thinking they're being helpful by pulling together a few WT articles

  Ah...so...like a school project.

  Thanks for your input, but I am going to go with my suspicions on this one instead of your suspicions...no hard feelings

  Did it occur to you that this "workbook" may very well be just that - a 'workbook' used to train the HLC guys? Maybe it isn't what they use directly with the JW patients...maybe this is one their training tools
  

  But, then again...we may never know the source of this handbook, seeing as all that HLC stuff is so secret

  I lost some of that post...

  If this is the handbook that the HLC uses in 'helping' a JW come to an informed decision, I can see why the JW father in the article that Lee Elder posted felt like he had been under 'undue influence'.

  This book is a mixture of Watchtower directed 'medical/scientific' advice and religious myth and superstition.

  A conscience matter indeed.

  The WT has NO conscience. That matter needs to be addressed. They have blood on their hands

  Huh. Maybe they are.

  Maybe there is more to the WTS not turning over documents and making such a firm stance in court over child sex abuse than we know about

  We do know that $$$ flowed the other way during the ARC. Applewhite, the Catholic expert hired by the WTS, did not come free

  A JW Father Learns about Blood

  this father contacted us a few months ago about his experience with the watchtower's blood policy, and how his daughter nearly died as a result of it.

  hopefully, other jw parents can learn from this before the wt policy claims the life of their child.

  the wts has very few meaningful interventions or "non blood alternatives" for anemia.

  Crazyguy: WT sick and discusting this blood issue was the final staw for me, researched it myself after my wife almost needed a C section and what the hotpital liaison committee told me was quite startling !

  The WT noblood propaganda is quite different than reality, isn't it?

  And the WT wants the world to believe that the JW noblood choice "is a conscience matter". Pffft...sure it is. A conscience that has been fed a bunch of lies and half-truths

  does anybody remember some of the sensational demon stories jw's would tell back in the day?

  i was a kid in the early 80's and i remember a few times hearing of people having real life encounters with demons.

  for example, one sister claimed that before she became a jdub she would regularly talk to demons and they would even fix stuff like her washing machine!

  Yes. You have made a critical point.

  In JW land, a ghost is a demon. Demons pretend to be dead people. Other belief systems accept the ghost theory that ghosts are departed people and not demons having fun with humans. In most cultures, ghosts are ghosts...dead people's spirits floating around.

  JWs don't believe in the spirit of a person having agency...the spirit dies in death. Therefore...demons

  I don't disagree with you at all, Hiemere. It is a big picture thing...lots going on to add to the JW culture of demons and a devil.

  I think the demon culture of the JWs is why the WTS has a reasonable success rate with indigenous cultures. Most traditional forms of diety worship have active demonology as part of their belief systems. It is strange, though, how the WTS can successfully put the ancestors to sleep and yet keep the demons alive
