Kate: How can I help to convert others to Atheism?
Don't say anything at all
Atheism does not require conversion
It requires rational thought
your qualifications are way above mine so i'd love to hear more about the specifics of what you have researched and how that supports the existence of a deity.
k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.

i'm new here; one of my relatives was a member on this forum a few years ago and told me about it.
anyways, as a sister who has been in the org since childhood and now in her late 40's (plus as a woman of color), i have noticed that a number of brothers have an ageist attitude.
they are very accepting of young women under 26 and rejecting women over that age, particularly those in their 30's and over.. is this an unspoken mindset from wthq (specifically from bethel), or is it that quite a number of males (sorry, i'm not sexist here) have this type of mentality?
HiddlesWife: This has been one of many aspects of discouragement for me in the Org
Good.
It should be
Women have the least power in the JW cult. That is why there is such a disportionate number of women who stay in...they are stripped of their power to the point that they remain perpetual captives. When you clip the wings of a bird, they can no longer fly

oneeyedjoe: It's probably not coming from watchtower specifically but any time you put yourself in a male-dominant authoritarian cult, you're probably going to find that women are viewed more as a commodity than for the person that they are (especially since they're not really allowed to express who they are and are instead required to be subservient) which will tend to favor younger women.
You are right.
The phenomena is a reflection of the male power position. The males have all the power in the JW cult and the women are objects to be possessed. By selecting and choosing "breeding age" women, favoring the sexually available and attractive woman, the men have defined sexuality as their priority and main focus. You could speculate that the average male JW is rather low on the evolutionary scale...they have not progressed past the point of living only within their animal nature

now the reason for this is important and goes beyond mere words.

Brokeback: I personally found no substance to the first couple of lines of the opening post and would not waste my time further by reading any more.

cofty: Outlaw go ask your imaginary professor, who spends his leisure time criticising my writing, about the difference between a "blue background" and a "blue back round".
I know this one, Cofty! Can I answer it, please, please? *waving hand frantically and sitting tall in my desk...squirmin'
I gonna...I'ma gonna do it
the answer is...

looter: That's disrespectful calling me elderly
No, it wasn't disrespectful. It was a reason. It was a respectful way of offering an explanation for why you would have limited computer skills. It was far more respectful than calling you incompetent.
"Elderly", in my books, has nothing at all to do with incompetence/competence - it only denotes a certain generation that didn't have the privilege of learning computer skills.
you should be ashamed
I have nothing to be ashamed about. I am not the one who has been deceptive
The assigning of shame to someone you want to discipline is a tactic that was commonly employed by older generations to control their children. My granny did it all the time and she passed on the practice to my mother. That is another reason why your age is so transparent

looter: OrphanCrow, people will believe what they want to believe at the end of the day. That's disrespectful calling me elderly and you should be ashamed. Even if I was an older man that doesn't give you the right to discriminate me like that.
Right on cue
I have been chastised
