Animals, Blood, Food, and JW Beliefs

i'm just thinking aloud here.

i watched a show yesterday and they were talking about how the largest mammals of the sea (whales) fed on such small creatures (plankton) rather than eating some other large creatures.

anyway, it got me thinking about how as jws we thought that in paradise animals would all be herbivores, that they would no longer eat other animals.

I think Jehovah has a handle on the blood sucking animal world. He has got it all figured out.

It is simple - the blood suckers only actually use "fractions" of the blood they suck. The rest just gets pooped out. Spilled on the ground.

DPA Cards: Word Has Come Down To Badger People

i know this must be coming down from the top because the elders in my hall who didn't really care before are all concerned about it.

must be on the list of things to do before the co comes back around.

in past years i never really thought about the dpa.

Regardless of why the transfusion ban was put in place to begin with, the inevitable outcome was that the WTS created a group of people who have a rare blood disorder. They made up a "disease", a medical disorder. And gave it to all the JWs worldwide.

The world of bioethics has had to deal with the conundrum of personal choice in medical decisions, as it pertains to the taking of blood, and the past several decades has seen much literature and court judgments generated because of the WT's blood ban. However, what the WTS is guilty of is monumental in scope. The WTS gave the JWs a medical disorder - a made-up "disease". A rare blood disorder.

"When you give somebody a disease — even by the standards of their time — you really cross the key ethical norm of the profession," said Arthur Caplan, director of the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Bioethics.

The True Believers have the Jehovah Glow all over them...sprinkled with the Holy Spirit fairy dust. Clean and shiny faces. A camouflage for true insanity

The DPA cards are being used as a way to measure spiritual health. If you hand it in, it signifies that you are worthy of the elders' attention concerning health matters. And, once you qualify with the elders (and you don't if you don't file your DPA card), then you will qualify for consideration from the glorious HLC.

Handing in your DPA signals that you are "spiritually strong".

They are filtering out the JWs who could potentially embarrass the HLC by "not standing firm" on the blood refusal. The HLC don't want to waste their time on JWs who may not comply. (or can't afford alternative treatment). They have so many important duties to do - like recruiting bloodless doctors for their bloodless cult. Making presentations to hospitals and keeping that cooperative doctor file up to date.

WT Society Creates the Atmosphere which Spawns Child Abuse in Congregations

been thinking about this lately after almost 14 years out of the jw cult myself.

when you think of the language used within the jehovah's witness organization in such a closed society environment in how the wt society promotes almost absolute " trust " in the elders , the governing body, and trust even in the " friends " in the congregation themselves- is it any wonder that unscrupulous child molesters can enter any congregation pretending to be " spiritual " and take advantage of unsuspecting children or the parents ?

think about it : an individual is judged as a " spiritual " person within the jw organization based on what wt functions or duties they are good at performing.

Flipper, I totally agree that the WT creates an atmosphere that spawns child abuse.

There isn't just one factor and it is more complicated than just the habit of not reporting child abuse allegations to the authorities. The way the organization is structured creates an environment that fosters child abuse. It is a systemic problem.

Several factors are at play and the insular nature of the cult supplies one of the requirements that allows child abuse to grow. Another thing is the lack of clear boundaries between minors and adults.

The early baptism of children, propelling them into "adult" status in the congregation's spiritual measuring, is one factor that I think is critical. Not only do the adults not have a boundary line they have to respect, the baptism acts as an emotional stopping point for the children who become baptized. In effect, the child stops maturing - they don't have to mature anymore because they have attained the top adult prize: baptism. I think that some of those who get baptized at such an early age simply get stuck there. They don't advance beyond their age of baptism. And therefore, when it comes time to chose a preferred sexual partner, they naturally gravitate towards a partner that matches them in emotional and psychological age.

Early baptism, JW style, where the child becomes an instant adult, leads to emotionally stunted adults. Adults who never mature beyond their age of entry into the adult world of JWs. Adults who seek out the emotional comfort of younger people. Because they are of similar emotional age.

And then throw in all the sexual restrictions. The WTS is focused on controlling sexual behavior. Children are given inappropriate information about sex. So are adults.

Then there is the issue of power. Power is woven into the WT structure. Power at the top and filtered down, each rung down with less and less power. Until it stops at the man on the bottom. Women and children are below any level of power. The problem is that it is only an illusion of power. Those men who are given their power from above the ladder, know that they don't really have any. They know, deep inside, that the power they have been given is fake. They know they are powerless. That is reinforced every time they open their mail and get yet another BOE letter telling them in detail what to do. That isn't power and they know it.

A person's self empowerment is critical to emotional and psychological health. It is imprinted in our genes. We must have power to survive. A cult member does not have personal power. They only have the power of the cult. They have none of their own. And they are terrified of the One who has the most power of all - Jehovah.

But, a human being's need for power is fundamental to their nature - each and every one of us must have it in order to feel like we will survive. So, all those powerless people inside the WT's made-up religion, have to, and they will, seek power somewhere. And where better to find power than to take it from those who have no way of protecting their own? From the children. The powerless steal the children's power. Because they can. And because they don't know how to be powerful by themselves - their power has been stolen by the WTS. They have given their power to the cult.

And another thing...the JWs are incestuous. The "Brother" and "Sister" thing is just plain creepy

You are right - it isn't. This man's belief system fits perfectly inside the framework of Christianity. And, especially inside the JW interpretation of how they see the world unfolding.

Religious delusion goes hand in hand with mental disorders. If anyone wants a signed copy of the Bible - autographed by Jesus Christ himself - there's a fellow over in the psych center a couple blocks away that hands them out during visiting hours. He will even shake your hand after signing the Bible he gives to you.
