  How would you prefer the JWs to think of you, A, B, or C ?

  i ran into my df'd, trying to get back into the dubs, uncle and my jw cousin the other day.

  i was coming out of a movie theatre with my "worldly" girlfriend.

  after a couple pleasantries we departed and they finished cleaning the theatre's windows .

  Most likely, people view me as either A or B or a combination of the two. I find that rather offensive, to be honest. I'd rather be considered a pure HERETIC and EVIL than simply intellectually misled or lacking in self-control.

  Wouldn't it effect your life greatly if she looked at you as an evil heretic ?
  Honesty may be the best policy but having a dub think clearly and honesty usually isn't an option
  That you're a heretic may be the honest truth, but they see that thru blinded eyes that conclude that you're evil
  Since you're not evil, what they're thinking isn't either the truth or honest
  So all that ends up being accomplished is that a relationship crippling barrier is raised

  No good can come from her thinking that you are evil

  i discovered this site today, and had some fun with it typing in the real names, then the aliases of posters here.

  e-man posted a similar thread a month or so ago, but this is a lot more fun, as long as your name or phrase is not too "exclusive"

  does anyone else have trouble processing the logic behind the wts issue of universal sovreignty?

  why empower satan to make claims and give him the time and circumstances to prove his claims?

  why have a bet between 2 people decide the fate of the universe?

  I have been a JW for over 50 years (Third Generation) I have raised my kids JW's. I still give talks on the ministry school and report service. Because of my low political skills I have been spared the misery of being an ELDER. You will find that I defend JW's and their adherence to the Bible. And I criticize the mean spirited and unfounded accusations against JWs.

  However, I can't defend the Bible itself as a book inspired by God. And neither can you. The picture of Jehovah as portrayed in the Hebrew scriptures is totally unacceptable. He asks people to carry out ethnic cleansing - Amorites. He acts stupid sometimes and needs Moses to get him out of a destructive mood. He asks the Israelites to carry out occult rituals with dead birds and animals to work magic against mold growing in houses. He asks his son to die for humans to fullfil HIS justice. If he's God why can't he just forgive without demanding that his son die. You mean the supreme judge can't waive his own rules?

  If I were an Israelite and Jehovah asked me to kill someone - I would tell him to do it himself.

  Could you tell us what drives you to continue in a religion that goes so contrary to your beliefs ?

  This religion is one of the least tolerant and if your feelings would become known you would suffer severly
  Why does being involved with this denomination, interest you ?

  this has happened far too many times now for it to just be happenstance.

  over the last year or so i've had at least 10 guys try to "pick me up" while i am out walking.

  if it only happened at night it would be one thing but, it's happened early in the morning as well.

  What exactly happens in 1 day and 9 hours ?
  What causes an old topic to expire ? Is it based on the point that it's started or the length of time since the last response ?
  
  I guess I'll push a few more buttons, read some more and hopefully I'll start to figure out what's what
