Did the WT rob you of your Inheritence??

over the years many ways have been suggested by the wt as to giving.one primary way was to name the wt in your inheritance.my father had a very simple will.one third of all he had went to me,one third went to my sister and one third went to the wt.. my father was a great believer in the generation of 1914 not passing away doctrine before the big "a" many times he would urge me to come back before it was too late.he was absolutely certain the end would have to come very soon.after all this was jehovah's promise not just the thoughts of the org.. then came the doctrinal change of 1995?

the goal posts in his life had suddenly been moved.this took all the fire out of a very old and unsure man.he died less than a year later.. the big change...when his will was opened and read it was even simpler.one half went to me and one half went to my sister.i guess at the end he finally saw "new light".

It seems to me more and more a guilt trip is being laid on all faithfull dubs if they do not give even after death.The constant reminder that stocks,bonds and inheritances are gratefully welcomed by the WT reminds them of this.Remembering that LOYALTY to the org is a number one priority they may feel DISLOYAL if they do not include the WT in their wills.

Playing with peoples minds,their emotions like this is what made me state that the WT is indeed robbing sons and daughters of their inheritances.People being led along to do something because of guilt,loyalty or perhaps even fear of displeasing Jehovah are brainwashed into giving.To me they are nothing more than a thief in the night.

You also made a good point with regards to 1975.Don't worry about the future.After all God will be taking care of us very soon now.Don't worry about your sons or daughters.After all we know for a certainty they will not grow old in this wicked old sytem of things.The only investment most dubs made for the future was in meetings,FS and assemblies.SPARE MONEY..well the world wide preaching work NEEDS all that you can give.The real family in their lives was not given a second thought.

I am sorry to hear about your mother.It is never easy when a loved one is dying.It becomes even worse when you see the ~~loving brothers~~ vultures gathering around.They are only looking after their own interests.Nothing else matters to them.Good for you keeping them away.No good can come from having them around.

Anti-Witnessing -does it work?

i keep reading posts from people who "need" to get their family members out of the wts.

look, a few background points: .

1) i'm out and have been for 17 years.

I don't believe anti-witnessing in a formal way really does any good.I believe in hit and run tactics to quickly make a point and then leave it alone.

EXAMPLE..A few weeks ago a relative who is also an elder commented on how close we were to the big "A" based on world events.I agreed with him adding that I also believed this since the generation of 1914 was really old and close to passing off the scene so it had to be soon.I said it with a straight face so he does not know if I am toying with him or if I am not aware of the "NEW LIGHT" on the subject.It did make him have to think once again about this doctrinal flip flop and if he has any brain cells that are still working it might cause him a little stress and distress.After all this was a key belief for 50? years that they did away with with ONE PARAGRAPH in 1994.You can only tear down a wall one brick at a time.

What JW belief/idea do you disagree with the most ???

is there a particular belief/doctrine that really burns you up and makes you wonder how people could believe this, and did you as a loyal jw at one time believe in it (your most hated belief), what made you change your mind ???.

for me, i always enjoy reading the history of the watchtower (1879-1974), and how things constantly change from year to year.

the sodom and gomorrah question is hilarious .

The number one worst thing they have are their shunning beliefs.This is the WHIP that keeps every one in line(unified).

Take the whip away and their little house of cards would fall apart.They might even start to be just like any other religion.

Blood to me is number two but if you didn't have shunning many would just ignore the blood doctrines.

Were You Ever Put On Any "Restrictions" While You Were A Witness?

the elders and the watchtower society are big fans of using "restrictions".

anytime a person has judicial action taken against them, they are imposed with "automatic restrictions".

even if a body of elders felt that a person was too fragile to have any restriction placed upon them, they were required by the society to "restrict" them in something.......were you ever put on restrictions?

It was restrictive though. No SM assignments, booted out of pioneering, no praying, no public talks and never to be on my own with a certain female

I was never put on any restrictions.BOY was I dumb.From what E Man says it sounds more like a great holiday from the borg rather than a punishment.WELL except for the female part.

I was just a good little MS striving to reach out for more ~~privileges~~ bum boy jobs.

If my wife finds out she might just turn me in to the elders!! I really don't know.I think it is just as easy to drift along the way we are going.I have been married for 30+ years and don't really feel like starting over if the s**t hits the fan.We find that if we talk about religion it only starts a fight so we for the most part just do not go there.Also I have about 20 dubs on my wifes side who might just want to make an issue out of this.

My wifes mind closed many years ago.I am afraid that the forces of "THE DARK SIDE" are firmly in control of her..

For example...I knew a program about child abuse was going to be on TV one night.I changed to the chanel at just the right time.I called her in and said..Look,look the is attacking you guys again.She ran out of the room and slammed the door to the bedroom so quickly I thought maybe the devil was chasing her.She would not come out until I changed the channel.I didn't really care.The program was a rerun and I already watched and taped it.

Yeah I am pretty carefull about clearing history,cache,location bar,temp internet files etc.I also have tweak ui and set all the paranoia options to clear with reboot.
