first i would like to thank you all for your courage to tell the truth about " the truth" and watchtower, and by helping ones like my family get so much information about witnesses.. just a quick introduction: we came to canada from yugoslavia 12 years ago and two years after we were baptized as a jws.
because of that , our relatives in canada shunned us for betraying ortodox faith .
now 10 years later we are shunned by our jw "friends" even thou we are not disfellowshiped nor did we disassociated ourselves.after reading information on this board about un, paedophilia and inhumane treatment of many who just did not agree with some practices, we just couldn`t go to meetings anymore.
I have only been here a few days.
But i would like to welcome you also.
Lainey
hello this is my first post and i wanted to introduce myself so here goes.. my name is lainey, and i have not been to the meetings for about 4 years now.. i am 28 and work as a doctor in a big city university hospital as a sho.. also for my sins, i am cassies little sis, and i am staying with him for a little while, as i am signed off sick for the next month with a stress related disorder.. after the death of my older bro and my dad within the past few months, i started suffering from terrible nightmares, most of them connected in some way to my witness upbringing.. me and cassie have talked for some length and he suggested that i spend some time having a look on this site and meeting others who have had similar issues to face in life.. i hope you are all are better listeners than cassie, who tends to fall asleep when i am in the middle of talking to him.
(brothers!!!

Kenneson.
I've been dying to share the following and I think the timing is apropos.
The famous Olympic skier Picabo Street (pronounced Peek-A-Boo) is not just an athlete, she is a nurse.
She currently works at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a large metropolitan hospital.
She is not permitted to answer the telephone, however, as it caused simply too much confusion when she would answer the phone and say,
"Picabo, ICU".
That is funny really really cheered me up
Thanks
L.
btw don't miss another good story about cassies willy on my first post.. .
my former po.. when i was about 10. the po in our congregation was about 45-50 and very friendly to all the young boys and girls at the hall.. he used to always pick us up, lift our shirts and tickle our bellys, and everyone always thought he was so good with children.. .
i clearly remember one instance when he was tickling me at the book study in the living room, when everyone else was in the kitchen, having some coffee and biscuits.. .
Razor.
Years later, to see this pathetic man, laying there, still behaving inappropriately with other staff members. What a lout!
He still seemed to have control over people, even all these years later.
I don't think that I can go through with this, at this time.

i got 2 replies to my letters this morning.
one was from my local mp saying he had passed my letter to another minister and the foreign and commonwealth office are investigating to see if its an appropriate issue to raise, and the other was from the wbts of britain.
the letter reads as below, and i would appreciate your comments on it, and some good qoutes to include in a reply.. .
Gadget I just called Cassie at work,
He interested in who wrote the letter, does it have the symbols on the top
Example SCA/SDE
Can you let us know if there are any, also if they are missing that also means something according to him.

I am sorry to hear you had such a nasty experience. And condolences on your fathers passing. My dad passed in March.
I am sorry to hear that, it does help to come here and talk about it with others who understand.

You took the high road by not hurting this worthless hunk of dog meat. But you can write the fellow a letter. Word it carefully so you can't be suied. Just first names or intials. Don't tell him who you are, and put a false return address on the letter. Tell him you know what a sick pervert he is, and life will get a bit more "complicated " for him real soon. Ask him," Did he think God would let him do his dirty work without any recourse? God just waited to make sure he was truly a sick puppy. And he is. Molesting children is very bad!" You have implied things without calling him anything. If he goes to the police, (and he won't), they will want to know more about his problem. Actually, you don't have to do anything else. He will do it to himself. Then start digging into his past. You will get this sicko! You can stay out of it and get the information to others, and let them fry this s--thead! MaverickI am trying to contact another person who was in his group with me, who also no longer goes to the meetings to see if they had any problems with him. Avi
I work with abused kidsYou are such a good person to help these victims. Lainey

What Kipling called the thousandth man.
O NE man in a thousand, Solomon says,
Will stick more close than a brother.
And it?s worth while seeking him half your days
If you find him before the other.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine depend
On what the world sees in you,
But the Thousandth Man will stand your friend
With the whole round world agin you.
?Tis neither promise nor prayer nor show
Will settle the finding for ?ee.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine of ?em go
By your looks, or your acts, or your glory.
But if he finds you and you find him,
The rest of the world don?t matter;
For the Thousandth Man will sink or swim
With you in any water.
You can use his purse with no more talk
Than he uses yours for his spendings,
And laugh and meet in your daily walk
As though there had been no lendings.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine of ?em call
For silver and gold in their dealings;
But the Thousandth Man he?s worth ?em all;
Because you can show him your feelings.
His wrong?s your wrong, and his right?s your right,
In season or out of season.
Stand up and back it in all men?s sight?
With that for your only reason!
Nine hundred and ninety-nine can?t bide
The shame or mocking or laughter,
But the Thousandth Man will stand by your side
To the gallows-foot?and after!
Well my thousandth man is my big bro Cassie
A kind generous, and loving brother who has stuck with me through thick and thin.
Yes I do take the piss out of him, and will of course continue to do so.
But I do love him
